Howdy! One of our players dropped out, so I'm on the search for a replacement! Our current party comprises of a cleric, paladin/warlock, druid, bard, and a rogue. We lost a barbarian, so some sort of frontliner type of character would be the best. Everyone is currently level four. If you're interested, please read the following so you know what kind of campaign this is.
Here's some stuff about the campaign in general:
Barovia, the lair and prison of Strahd von Zarovich (the infamous first vampire), is a prison dimension tucked away within the desolate Shadowfell. It is the first of many Domains of Dread (also collectively refferred to as 'Ravenloft'), extradimensional prisons crafted by enigmatic beings known as "the Dark Powers." The Dark Powers scour the multiverse for beings of unrelenting and darkest evil, beings fully devoted to evil, beings past the hope of redemption. The Dark Powers capture these beings and sequester them away in Domain of Dread. Each domain is carefully crafted to be a tailored personal hell for those beings, an inescapable realm where they can be tormented for eternity.
One such beings, a lich known Azalin, was imprisoned within a Domain of Dread called Darkon. After millennia of confinement, he managed to do the impossible: he escaped Ravenloft. No one knows where he is, even the inscrutable Dark Powers.
This campaign will primarily be focused on thwarting Azalin and his hordes, protecting the multiverse from his insatiable tyranny. There will be a lot of hopping between the Domains of Dread, gathering clues and allies to use against the lich. As was said before, this campaign will use Curse of Strahd for a considerable portion of it, while the plane-hopping will be happening at later levels. I'm not 100% sure how long this campaign will last, but it will most likely have the characters reaching level 15, possible even to level 20. Essentially, this will extend Curse of Strahd beyond what it was intended into high-level gameplay with some (hopefully) awesome storytelling.
We use the DnDBeyond for the game thread, but use Discord for the OOC chat. I like how Discord is laid out, and and can organize a lot of information in there.
-This campaign will be RP heavy. While there are lots of monsters, you don't have to fight your way out of every situation. I'd prefer if you love RPing over combat. Nothing makes me happier as a DM then when I go check on the campaign thread, I find that the players have been purely RPing with each other, painting a picture of words that describe their feelings and reactions. I want to "see" what your character is doing without a visual. Be creative!
-This is a horror-setting campaign. The more you get into character, the better this will be. Pretend along with us. Let your character be afraid where appropriate.
-I have zero-tolerance for sexual content. Also not a huge fan of profanity. If your character needs to swear, bleep it out. Let's try to have clean, wholesome story-writing!
-As I only have a rough sketch of how the higher levels will play out, I'll be relying heavily on the characters to craft the story. The more you give me to work with through RP, the better I can do!
-Try to post at least once a day. I'll try to do the same. The biggest campaign-killer is inconsistent posting. If you aren't going to be able to post for a bit, just let us know. I like to think myself fairly accommodating, but I can't do much if you don't let me know. If you need to drop out for any reason, just let us know as well!
-Another shameless plug for RP. RP is the bread-and-butter of Dnd.
Here's a brief recap of everything that has happened:
The party's adopted mother passed away, and they all gathered back to their childhood home for a funeral. Once they arrived, they quickly discovered that something was amiss. After following a trail of clues, they discovered a hidden cache of magical items left by their deceased mother. A Programmed Illusion informed them that the items were Mist Talismans, items that can act as guides to take you between something called Domains of Dread. They learned that someone named Azalin was trying to escape the Domains, and they must put a stop to him.
Once they went outside, they were confronted by a force of undead intent on retrieving the items for their master, Azalin. The party defeated the undead and camped for the night. When they left in the morning to go back home, they discovered they were in a different land. After some exploration, they found a town and discovered they were transported to Barovia, a Domain of Dread.
After cleansing a church of undead and corruption, they went to escort a pair of siblings to a different town because one of the siblings was being preyed upon by Strahd von Zarovich, the Darklord of Barovia. Along the way to the new town, they stopped at a Vistani camp to have their fortunes read. There, the seer told them A LOT about their futures, Azalin, and Strahd. Azalin and Strahd then attacked the Vistani camp to retrieve Ireena, but the group managed to fend them off with some help.
Now, they plan to head to a different Domain to escape from Strahd.
The group plans to head to I'Cath, another Domain of Dread. It would make sense for your character to be from I'Cath, so here's some info about it
Mist Talismans: Scrap of ghost hair silk, small golden bell, scroll covered in prayers
When the inhabitants of I’Cath fall asleep, they enter an alternate version of the city they call home—a city dreamed into being by the domain’s Darklord. In time, these poor souls can’t remember which version is the real I’Cath and which one is the dream.
In the physical world, I’Cath’s surreal, knotted streets echo with their emptiness. Within spare, meandering row houses, the majority of the populace slump against walls or sprawl against each other where they fell. These people lie trapped within a collective dream world created by the city’s ruler, Tsien Chiang. Within this shared dream they labor ceaselessly, ever striving to create the impossible, perfect city of a perfectionist mastermind.
Within the dreaming domain of I’Cath, Darklord Tsien Chiang rules a golden vision of the city—a place of ultimate beauty and efficiency where all things move according to her design. For her, it is near perfection. For her people, it is a nightmare of inescapable drudgery from which death is the only escape. The dream city’s identical, even streets sprawl across a broad hill, atop which rises a glorious palace Tsien Chiang shares with her four perfect daughters. Day or night, the streets are filled with people ever toiling to perfect the buildings, reshape the gardens, and undo the work of the previous days and weeks in favor of new designs. Within the dream, the people don’t sleep, eat, or need to attend to any other concerns. They know only their work and the glory of Tsien Chiang.
In the waking world, the truth of I’Cath is starkly apparent. Rows of decrepit, moldy homes merge to line endless, coiling avenues. The streets wind and double back, but eventually climb the rise at the city’s center, where the infamous Palace of Bones and the gold-scaled Ping’On Tower loom. By day, the streets are largely empty, except for those few desperate residents of I’Cath who have yet to succumb to the domain’s dream. They rush through their days, scavenging what they can in hopes of enduring the coming night.
Every twilight, Tsien Chiang climbs the spirit-infested Ping’On Tower and tolls the Nightingale Bell. This renews the magic of her dream world and keeps her citizens asleep, but it also calls forth the legion of I’Cath’s undead ancestors whom she has bent to her will. Nightly these jiangshi (see chapter 5) emerge from their tombs and reshape the city’s mazelike streets, striving to match Tsien Chiang’s vision with merciless perfection. The Darklord’s servants carefully move any sleepers they encounter out of the way of their work, but prey upon any waking souls who cross their paths.
Any whom the Mists carry to I’Cath or who wake from Tsien Chiang’s dream find themselves in a gray, haunted, ever-changing city where food is scarce and jiangshi hunt the living. With twilight comes a terrible choice: endure the uncertain terrors of the waking world or succumb to endless servitude in sleep.
Noteworthy Features
Those familiar with I’Cath know the following facts:
The citizens of the vast city of I’Cath sleep endlessly within their homes.
Those who wake feel the pangs of starvation. Food is more valuable in the city than gold.
Jiangshi haunt the streets of I’Cath, tearing down whole districts and rebuilding them.
Tsien Chiang rules the city from the Palace of Bones. By day, she drafts plans to improve I’Cath. By night, she rules over her people’s dreams.
Tsien Chiang’s four supernatural daughters wander the city by day and gather at the Palace of Bones at night.
The streets and row homes of I’Cath change nightly, making navigation next to impossible. The city has a single exit, the Four Trees Gate, but few know how to reach it.
You don't have to be from I'Cath, but you do need a reason to be there.

Character name: Azothlin
-Character Race: Dhamphir
-Class and subclass (level 4, Multiclass is allowed if you'd like): Fighter 3 (psy warrior) Rogue 1
-Background: Ruined
-Abilities (4d6, drop lowest, no rerolls. If you don't like your scores, you can use point buy or standard):
Ability scores: 12813141417
-Backstory
Azothlin is a descendant of the original assassin sent to kill TSIEN CHIANG. The backlash of that failed attempts resulted in his ancestor being cursed....a curse for blood which is passed down to his descendants. The heritage of training and combat has been passed down, with assignation temps by various descendants made against Chiang always failing. His time in I'cath has been spent as part of what little resistance there is to the rule of TSIEN CHIANG and hiding from the Jiangshi with the other descendants of the original assassin. Unfortunately, the Jiangshi finally caught up with them, and all his family and friends where torn to pieces, Azaothlin was the last one standing, with two Jiangshi being slain. He hides now, living on the streets, trying to avoid sleeping as much as he can to avoid the dreamworld, and trying to find a way out of I-cath. He has fought the Jiangshi on several occasions, but each time barely escaping with his life. He has come to realize he is no match for them with his training incomplete, and has lost hope in vengeance against the evil of this realm. In addition, without the support of his family he fears to loose control of his vampiric cravings. He has heard of ancestors that became lost in the curse and little better than the Jiangshi enemy, often being hunted and killed by there own family.
-Alignment and personality (Include your general personality, personality traits, ideals, bonds, flaws, and goals): Neutral Good, He is in survival mode now, but looking to latch on to anyone that he thinks can help him out of I'cath. He has been hiding for a year. His family had always talked about revenge and the endless battle against Chiant, but Azothlin no longer feels that way, seeing as how it got all of them dead.
-Your character's biggest fear: Loosing control of his vampiric nature and becoming little more than a beast.
-Your choice of a uncommon magical item. Include how you got this in your backstory. Azothlin wears the armor of his descendant, one of the original assassins'.
-An RP sample from your character.
Azothlin slowly stands, his broken ribs and twisted ankle paining him; however a smile spreads on his lips displaying two sharp canines as he looks at the wounded Jiangshi. His relatives dead all around, and blood staining his clothes. "Now beast, let us embrace one last time and end this."
-Class and subclass (level 4, Multiclass is allowed if you'd like): Monster Slayer Ranger
-Abilities (4d6, drop lowest, no rerolls. If you don't like your scores, you can use point buy or standard): 13914171213
-Backstory (This will be the primary factor in choosing applicants. Make it juicy!): As a shadar-kai, Yunshan was first immune to the magic that put all the citizens of the domain to sleep. Yunshan and his fellow shadar-kai quickly gathered up and tried to go unnoticed by the darklord fighting Jiangshi and hunting vermin in the night and hiding in the day. They called themselves the veilwalkers. There was just a couple dozen shadar-kai, but they were quite capable together. As Yunshan's parents died when he was young, his only living family member, his younger brother Fuyao was also a member.
It unsurprisingly didn't take long for the darklord to learn about their little resistance movement. He immediately sent his daughters to seek the veilwalkers and so they did. The group was quickly found and they valiantly fought though they stood no chance. Before putting the shadar-kai to sleep with a special enchantment, the daughters paralyzed them and forced them to watch as they tortured random members of the group, among them Yunshan's brother Fuyao. As Yunshan's mind tried to scream from the horror but he physically couldn't, a strange cloak (Cloak of Protection) flew in the house through a window and attached to Yunshan. Before he, or the daughters, knew what was going on, Yunshan could feel a sentience of the cloak in his mind commanding him to reach deep into his potential to "get away". As Yunshan did just that, he saw glimpses of his ancestors lives first seeing his parents, then grandparents, then distant elven ancestors moving to the Shadowfell. He felt turning translucent and suddenly found himself outside of the house having teleported (reflavored Shadar-kai ability Blessing of the Raven Queen). Terrified of what had happened in the house, he simply ran and ran. Yunshan ran straight to the Four Trees Gate with the help of the cloak nudging him in the right direction though he didn't notice it.
The cloak clearly has some kind of motivations for keeping Yunshan safe but he doesn't know why. The cloak can't fully talk to Yunshan but instead transfer feelings, primal needs and urges to him. Perhaps someone is trapped in the cloak?
-Alignment and personality (Include your general personality, personality traits, ideals, bonds, flaws, and goals): Neutral good. Yunshan wants to help everyone in need of help but is horrified of what happened in the city. He needs some powerful and motivating allies to push him into gear to go into saving mode instead of survival mode. Yunshan is currently too scared of what's in the city to go there alone. He wants to save his brother, preferably along with everyone else from the endless slumber and maybe even exact vengeance on the Darklord and his daughters.
-Your character's biggest fear (You can include more than one if you'd like. These could be simple as 'arachnophobia,' but it would be a lot better if you could go deeper than that. It gives me ammo to use later on ;): Yunshan is most afraid of being unable to help his loved ones. Another fear is losing himself becoming a slave of the Darklord or anyone else for that matter.
-Your choice of a uncommon magical item. Include how you got this in your backstory: Cloak of Protection (that is sentient)
-An RP sample from your character.
From the darkness, Yunshan pounces on a small raccoon crushing its skull with his shortsword. Yunshan determines making a fire not safe and proceeds to eat the disgusting vermin raw. "Tonight we feast." Yunshan says to his cloak, since he doesn't have anyone else to talk to. The cloak hasn't felt all that sentient ever since escaping the city. Maybe it just doesn't have anything to say to me. Yunshan concludes.

Backstory:
Outside of the Four Trees Gate the wilds that surround I'Cath are desolate, barren, and infested with monstrous creatures, any resource is slowly being stolen by some arcane means for the continual construction and reconstruction within the walls of the dominating city. The tribes that call the wilds home are getting desperate, some tribes have even moved into the city thinking it an escape from the horrors outside, though what they found was more horrors, more starvation and then slavery to boot.
One tribe that is still scraping by out there is the Zong tribe, a group of animalfolk that use their instincts to survive the monsters. When the son of the Zong tribe's chief disappeared it was put to Lán, their best warrior, to venture out and seek the missing son.
Lán searched the wilds until he was certain that there was only one place that the son could have ended up. After entering I'Cath, Lán searched the streets for days without sleep, using his survivalist skills to evade capture or raise suspicion. Underground in the hiding holes away from the undead eyes of the jiangshi, groups of inhabitants fight over the scraps left to be had during waking hours, here is where Lán unfortunately found the son of his chief, taken in by a group of lycanthropes, the son had taken on the curse in an attempt to become what he feared the most, a monster.
When it was clear the the son would not return Lán attempted to take him out of the city by force but this was a mistake, attacked not only by the chief's son but a gang of lycans, Lán narrowly escaped with his life. Finding it hard to imagine going back to his chief and breaking the news, Lán is left stuck in this city, looking for a way out.
Alignments:
chaotic good-ish, Lán knows what it means to survive and also sees nature taking its course all the time, he is desensitised to hardship and gruff because of this, but does see sense in having honour and codes to live by. His ideals are based in cold logical problem solving though he knows that he has an inherent instinct to surround himself with people to protect. His flaws are ranged from biting off more than he can chew and trusting to easily when he is out of his comfort zone. he is also touched by wildmagic which makes his outlook on life incredibly chaotic as he never really knows what is going to surprise him next.
Fear:
Lán is nothing if not a free spirit, his biggest fear is being caged or enslaved which is why he is so desperate to escape the city.
Magic item:
Periapt of Wound Closure, handed down amongst his tribe to the most worthy warrior, and then given to the next upon that warriors death, Lán was gifted this from his mentor as their last wish.
Rp sample:
"North is that way if you want to find the stream, but them boots are gonna get you killed before you even hear it. Water ain't easy to come by out here and what do you think is gonna be waiting for ya?" Lán whispers as he strokes his claws through his mane just under his chin, the blue dyed twine laced through it shifting and catching in the moonlight. As the lost and thirsty adventurer considers what might be lurking in the darkness of the forest beyond the treeline, Lán begins very deliberately drinking from a water skin. "I'll tell you what," he offers quietly breaking the silence, "You join me on a hunt, you be an extra pair of eyes for me and I'll show you how to gather water safely, but first you lose those metal boots, or you ain't gonna survive, not that I'm making any promises there" he suddenly pushes the water skin toward the adventurer, though not once doe Lán's paw leave the hilt of his weapon prepared for violence at a moments notice.
A bit about me:
I'm already in several campaigns with the ooc chat in the discord, as well as dm-ing my own completely homebrew campaign. I've been active here on DDB continually for the last two and a half years.
Unfortunately I don't have access to any of the digital content here in DDB so anything shared in the campaign is helpful to me.
I'm a big fan of RP moments, being able to freely bandy ideas about in character and getting deep into lore and backstory stuff.

-Backstory (This will be the primary factor in choosing applicants. Make it juicy!):
What would you be willing to sacrifice in hopes of attaining a better future for your family and yourself? Ming-Yue was faced with that question not long ago, the thing is... she doesn't remember what her answer was. She knows she sacrificed something, but whatever it was has been erased from her mind replaced with memories of another life. She does remember a small voice, an offer of some sort that seemed too good to be true, and the grueling ceaseless work under the watchful eye of Tsien Chiang. She labored alongside friends and family, listening to the sorrowed voices around her as she did her best to watch over her little sister. Her memories are vague, but she remembers her father as a broken man, once brave and filled with fighting spirit, now shattered under the impossible, unending task set before them with no hope of escape. Her mother tried to remain positive, but it was clear that her hope had long ago faded as well. Ming had all but lost hope too, but then there was a light... and, a sadness. She remembers a soft voice telling her of sorrows from the past, alongside what the land once was and what still exists outside of this eternal nightmare. The light was weak, but offered something that sparked hope in Ming's heart.
She woke up from the dream mere weeks ago, finding herself in an alley laying alongside her sleeping parents and sister. At first she didn't know what to do, her fears of being left alone surfacing as she panicked only to realize that there was nothing she could do for her family. Hadn't the deal included them too? Why was she the only one who woke up? When she finally came to reason, she inspected her surroundings and found that she had a strange fan in her possession. She didn't know where it came from, but there was something familiar about it--like it belonged to her but she had forgotten she'd owned it. Perhaps it was a gift from the light. Not knowing what else to do, she took her father's sword and set out in hopes of finding a goal for herself.
Over the course of the next few weeks, the toll of the bell became the manifestation of her worst fears. Not just because it meant the coming of the creatures that would prey on her through the night, but the mere sound of it struck fear into her heart. Each gong rang through her ears painfully, and fear that wasn't her own froze her in place every time. It seemed the light that bonded to her feared the sound of the bell, and the spell that sent everyone into the dream. Something about the sound was too painful to bear, leaving Ming cringing and covering her ears. She doesn't understand it, the fear, or almost any of the emotions swirling around in her head anymore. All she knows is that she has to avoid capture and figure out a way to keep that bell from renewing the spell. She needs to wake up her family... but can she do that without leaving the city? Will she need to search lands elsewhere in order to break the curse of this realm? Perhaps, this is a journey she cannot finish alone.
It also didn't take long for her to figure out that, even if she wanted to, she can't reenter the dream. She can't even have dreams of her own anymore. Instead, she relives memories of someone she doesn't know--though often the voice is familiar. Sometimes the memories are beautiful. Other times they are just as nightmarish as the Dream itself. Still other times she finds herself working for Tsien Chiang like she did before waking up, only she doesn't recognize the people around her.
Notes: I'm thinking that the 'light' or the dream spirit that she is fused with was somehow sucked into the Dream back when the Domains were originally made. So this spirit has seen and endured a lot and is a little unstable because of it. Ming-Yue doesn't know the spirit's name, or even that it is a spirit for that matter, all she knows is that it made some sort of promise to her in regard to saving herself and her family, and she gave something up in return (which is why her memories are somewhat scrambled). If this doesn't work, I'd considered that the spirit could be one of Tsien Chiang's daughters--perhaps she is looking for a way to explore realms outside of this one? This would change a few things, but if it works better with the lore I wouldn't mind making those changes. The Fan is both her inheritance from her background, and her uncommon item.
-Alignment and personality (Include your general personality, personality traits, ideals, bonds, flaws, and goals):
Alignment: Neutral Good. Ming looks out for herself first and foremost, as she doesn't have anyone else to lean on currently. To most, she'll seem like a slightly timid yet genuinely nice girl, who is competent in battle and eager to face any challenge she thinks will help her reach her goal. She is a generally cautious individual, but her personality can vary between cowardly and overconfident at times due to the mix of emotions she often has filling her head. As a result, she has a difficult time expressing her concerns or lack thereof because she has trouble deciding on which feelings are her own. Usually, she is level headed, and can sometimes seem too eager to jump into battle so long as she knows who her enemy is and has a reason to fight them. If caught unaware, her first instinct is usually to hide...which she'll promptly abandon after realizing she is actually in danger. In other words, her personality is very back and forth. Her ideals depend on honesty, and honor. Even though her first priority is herself and her family, she won't hesitate to help someone else if she can--assuming her emotions don't hold her back. Her bond is her family, and she will do just about anything if it meant freeing them from their sleep and enslavement. However, she would also like to mend her memory, as well as at least find out what it is she had to sacrifice to escape the dream. Her minor flaws range from indecisiveness to cowardice, and even to overconfidence at times due to her bond. However, her biggest flaw would be that she trusts too easily.
-Your character's biggest fear (You can include more than one if you'd like. These could be simple as 'arachnophobia,' but it would be a lot better if you could go deeper than that. It gives me ammo to use later on ;
Aside from her almost primal fear of the Nightingale Bell, she has quite a few fears. One is that she will forever be left alone and that she'll never be able to make sense of all the things that are going on in her head. She already feels like she's lost a part of herself, so another fear is that she will lose her sense of self completely. She also fears that her family might die before she can save them, and she'll never be able to tell them why she left or that she was working so hard to save them--or say goodbye.
-Your choice of an uncommon magical item. Include how you got this in your backstory: Wind Fan
-An RP sample from your character.
Ming-Yue shivers, clamping her hands over her ears and hunching down as the sound of the Nightingale Bell split the air. She can feel it in her head, beating at her brain as if the bell is somehow inside her skull. The sound reverberates through her, sending shivers down her spine and a ringing in her ears that resounds even after the bell stopped chiming. She sits there for a few minutes...one...four...ten... however long it takes for the ringing to stop and the irrational fear to fade. Once its gone, she stands up, forcing herself to balance on shaky legs as she lets out a long breath. Another night, how long is this going to last?
"Perhaps I should climb the tower myself and steal the bell," she says, not for the first time. Yet something holds her back--perhaps it's her last remaining sense of logic--or perhaps it's that fear that claws at her insides. She doesn't know. All she knows is that right now, she isn't strong enough to face Tsien Chiang. Not yet. Not alone.
Hearing the familiar sound of a Jiangshi shambling down the street, she presses her back against the wall of the alley. Emotions run through her. Fear 'run', caution 'stay still', anger 'attack, kill it swiftly', and more. Each one affecting her thoughts and keeping her from properly evaluating the situation. Gritting her teeth, she pushes them all aside, shutting her eyes and adopting a sense of emptiness to keep them at bay. The dark creature is close now. She grips her sword, lets out a breath, and leaps out from the alley. She might not be strong enough to storm the Ping'On Tower, but this--this she can handle.
Just wanted to write this to make sure my rolls don't change: Ability scores: 12 10 8 13 11 12
Also, I wanted to ask if content sharing is enabled for this campaign? I think I can get my hands on what I need for Ming if I'm selected, and I'm willing to alter things need-be as well, but I wanted to ask just in case. :D

Banished! By his own father, nonetheless! The outrage, the betrayal!
...ehrm, well no. It was to be expected. The young man did enact an uprising against the old man, after all. He'd hardly reached his clan's territory before he was surrounded by the high guard. Damned foolish, swiping the chieftain's armor. Perhaps he had it coming.
Agh! Irrelevant! The old fool had forsaken his duty to his people when he began heeding that woman! Some soft wench of a warlock has his ear and suddenly centuries of tradition are abandoned? He's unworthy! Wretch! Deceiver! He told his father as much before the chief's new woman sent him... wait. Where was here anyway? Gods, what is this place?!
-Alignment and personality (Include your general personality, personality traits, ideals, bonds, flaws, and goals):
Lawful-Neutral
Personality traits: Slow to trust, but not incapable. He values strength and speed, but understands not everything can be solved with a blade. He can be impetuous at times, though he's ultimately loyal to those he can rely on.
Ideals: Tradition is worth keeping, provided strength wins the day to keep it. Loyalty is tantamount to dedication -- not quick to gain, nor easy to lose.
Bonds: My leadership is my birthright, but what is a king without his people?
Flaws: My code is oft unflinching. I'm not at my best in confined spaces.
-Your character's biggest fear (You can include more than one if you'd like. These could be simple as 'arachnophobia,' but it would be a lot better if you could go deeper than that. It gives me ammo to use later on ;)
Most Aarokokra carry a universal unease while underground. It's why they're so ill suited as dungeon explorers. Cart'hasz expands this to any enclosed space, even above ground. Forests and houses are one thing. Confined crags and narrow alleyways are another.
-Your choice of a uncommon magical item. Include how you got this in your backstory

Winds howl and moan as he streaks through fetid air, chased on strong wings by living shadows. He can hear them gnashing and growling, with their twisted little delight at the thrill of this chase. Good, he thinks. They'll never expect... this! The warrior dips his right wing, pulling a turn that would've torn most birds' wings asunder. With a vicious retort reminiscent of an eagle, he swings his scimitar across his pursuers, cutting two across the middle and scattering the rest. As quick as his swing was, it was nowhere near what he needed. He must proceed to... to... Lowering his head and leaning into his own weight, he begins to drift into... a... nice... even... slum... No! Cannot sleep! Will not be taken...! With that, he builds the rhythm on his wings once more, beating a hasty retreat as more shadows follow, persistent, hungry...
If you want to read the campaign to catch up and see how it is, here's the link: https://www.dndbeyond.com/forums/d-d-beyond-general/play-by-post/182494-azalins-doom?page=49#c977
Here's some expectations:
It would make sense for your character to be from I'Cath, so here's some info about it
I’Cath
Domain Trapped in a Dream
Darklord: Tsien Chiang
Genres: Body horror and cosmic horror
Hallmarks: Endlessly changing labyrinth, deadly jiangshi, inescapable dreamworld

Character name: Azothlin
-Character Race: Dhamphir
-Class and subclass (level 4, Multiclass is allowed if you'd like): Fighter 3 (psy warrior) Rogue 1
-Background: Ruined

Ability scores: 12 8 13 14 14 17
-Character name: Yunshan Elensil
-Character Race: Shadar-kai
-Class and subclass (level 4, Multiclass is allowed if you'd like): Monster Slayer Ranger
-Abilities (4d6, drop lowest, no rerolls. If you don't like your scores, you can use point buy or standard): 13 9 14 17 12 13

The Ironmaiden, Questionable Artificer, Descent into Avernus.

-Character name: Ming-Yue
-Character Race: Kalashtar
-Class and subclass (level 4, Multiclass is allowed if you'd like): Fighter (Eldritch Knight)
-Background: Inheritor
-Abilities (4d6, drop lowest, no rerolls. If you don't like your scores, you can use point buy or standard): Ability scores: 12 10 8 13 11 12
-Your character's biggest fear (You can include more than one if you'd like. These could be simple as 'arachnophobia,' but it would be a lot better if you could go deeper than that. It gives me ammo to use later on ;
Aside from her almost primal fear of the Nightingale Bell, she has quite a few fears.
I can roll with this.
Character name: Cart'hasz
-Character Race: Aarokokra
-Class and subclass (level 4, Multiclass is allowed if you'd like): Paladin/Oath of Conquest
-Background: Ruined, w/Skilled
-Abilities (4d6, drop lowest, no rerolls. If you don't like your scores, you can use point buy or standard):
As mentioned above, 13 13 14 14 11 14
-Backstory (This will be the primary factor in choosing applicants. Make it juicy!):
Mithril Half-Plate, armor
-An RP sample from your character.
