Many years ago, a noble efreet dallied overmuch in the affairs of mortals, taking a concubine and producing a fire genasi of unusual beauty and grace. The child's mother did her best to hide her son's heritage from the efreet's jealous wife, and she had success for many years. Fuego grew up between the mortal and elemental worlds, spending much of his time in the scalding sands of the southern desert with his loving mother, but as he came of age and sought his own path, a powerful fire genie came to offer him great power, and so Fuego unknowingly entered into a Warlock Pact with his own father!
Progressing quickly in power and skill, Fuego mastered fire easily and could make it dance to his whim. However, nothing could protect him from the intense fire of his father's jealous wife--a powerful sorcerer in her own right--and that proved to be the young genasi's downfall. Trapping Fuego in his genie vessel, an ornate horn from the City of Brass, she spirited him away from the influence of both her husband and his mother by the simple expedient of giving the horn as a gift to a travelling prince. Soon the prince returned far to the north in the mortal realms, and neither of his parents could find Fuego again.
And so the horn passed from prince to prince in the lands to the north, becoming a noble heirloom with its history and trapped inhabitant forgotten...Until the prince carrying the horn had the misfortune of being encased in magical ice. The adventurers who saved the prince may have thought the horn yet another trinket in the prince's possession if it were not the heat retained in the horn even as it was encased in ice, fueled by an unknown magic within. Would these adventurers have the skill to free Fuego, or is he doomed to remain trapped forever?

Gerrard Feldren - Human Noble in Ghosts of Saltmarsh
Kerric Brightblade - Elven Warrior in "Apocalypse"
Character Class and Subclass: Chaotic Divine Sorcerer
Character Background: Hermit
Backstory:
A small piece of grey matter, extracted from a recently deceased healer. It has since been grown into it's own entity. 'Tis a mass of confusing gelatinous flesh, touched by divine Chaos. Though it is relatively young, its power appears to grow exponentially with each passing day. Whether this is a wholly good or incredibly bad circumstance, only the creature can tell, and it says nothing.
Now, the creature finds itself before a new circumstance previously inconceivable: human(oid) interaction. What might it learn? What might it do? One can only wonder -- or perhaps dread.

Backstory: Tazlock was an unusual hatchling. He preferred to spend his time looking for and reading books (not an easy task on the small island that his clan called home). Shortly after his parents passed Tazlok joined a community of scholars and spent his days (and to be honest a large part of his nights) working his way through their library but he remained in touch with his home village and would often write to his friends and family members.
When the cold came down from the north Tazlok was saddened to hear that many of his brethren were forced to migrate south to warmer climates or suffer from sluggishness and forced hibernation. His curiosity and thirst for knowledge led Tazlok to make the fateful decision to leave his quiet life of study and contemplation to travel to the North in an attempt to identify the source of this unnatural cold. Once the cause has been identified then it will be a simple matter of research to locate or develop a solution that will restore the natural order of things, thereby allowing his people to return to their homes and their livelihoods.
Backstory: Dezes has served as a Marine for the past decade, performing many a mission for the crown. Since he left the Marine after a mission went bad he hasn't really been himself. So when he heard about the issues in the north he thought that might be a good opportunity to get back into business. He knows he can handle the cold, and his skills should be very handy in those harse conditions. Which is why he went out to see if he could find a group of adventurers that are going that way, as he knows going by himself would be a, very, bad idea.

Three questions.
1. What level would the character be?
2. If going with a Wild Magic sorcerer, what's your stance on Tides of Chaos recharge? Would it be able to recharge each time a levelled spell is cast or is your preference there more limited?
3. As a heads up, I'd have some busyness coming up next week. But in general would be okay with 1-2 posting. Is that alright?

1. Level 4 characters.
2. The recharge is fine, I'll allow it every time.
Name: Phait Race: Mountain Dwarf Class: Sorcerer (Wild Magic) Background: Noble Character Sheet:https://www.dndbeyond.com/characters/119118949/gH3WHE (note: a couple of spells are prefaced with Vitus'. That's an indicator I use for homebrew copies of official material. So Vitus' Mind Sliver for example is just my way of getting Mind Sliver without owning Tasha's. If you'd prefer not to have homebrew copies of stuff, I can swap those out.) Backstory:
Though Phait was born into nobility, his parents did their best to not let it get to his head. He raised to have a sense of duty and service to those under him. He would work alongside the common folk in tasks such as sowing fields or repairing roads. Though he initially thought these jobs beneath him, he eventually grew to appreciate how it strengthened the bond between him and his people. That they respected both him and his family for being willing to help.
In addition to serving his people, Phait is also enamored with with a fellow noble dwarf by the name of Kathra he wishes he could marry. He cherishes the nights they've been able to meet up and enjoy each other's company. But unfortunately for him the enmity between his family and hers is so great that even as he's grown older he still doesn't have the necessary influence to be able to bridge that chasm of hatred.
Which brings him to his motivation to go on the quest. First, as a noble and guardian of the people, he feels it is his duty to look into the matter. And having heard rumors of a group already looking into the situation he hopes to join them. Perhaps, as a noble, he might even be able to help if the matter concerns a fallen king. Secondly, he hopes that with the wealth offered by Adenguard, perhaps he'll finally be able to wed his beloved Kathra. So with a hopeful and dutiful heart he's set out to see what he can do.
