Though Thar recalls "At least we had opened the gates to the outside (OOC Post #888) for I am a little low on spells so I think we will just have to get away on foot as quick as we can and hope we are not followed."
You are running back to where your horses are picketed. About 300 yards behind giants (10 to start with) come streaming out of the large doors. With them is a pack (15 or so) of dire wolves who quickly get the scent and come bounding after you.
"Don't slow down for them yet! They'll overwhelm us if we slow to fight!"
Dire wolfs move at 50, hill giants move at 40 you move at 30. The wolves will catch you in 22 rounds. In 22 rounds you can move 1320'. So, where are your horses?
Gijigume and Aeliarin pick up the trail and lead you into the mountains. After the most of the day travelling you approach a huge wooden stockade in a depression in the surrounding hilly terrain.
...
It is 300x500' with three sets of large gates entering on the south, north and east sides.
So, you’re closish. You get to your horses with time to spare. When the giants see that you have made your transport they call back the wolves. Instead they pick up rocks to throw at you... or more to the point, at your horses.
"It sounds like it is. We should go, quickly."

Does a (very) quick inspection reveal anything useful on the Samurai giant?

Very quickly, that katana looks impressive... and as tall as you are.
Samurai style Greatsword! If it's not too cumbersome Fah'lin will take it along. We didn't get to see it in action, but it might be special.
Fah'lin pokes his head out into the hall.
Are there any other exits from this room. Maybe a vertical option?

South is the entry area with the stairs to the watch tower and the big double doors to outside. Every other direction is further into the steading.
"On the basis our retreat may not be straight-forward, best we get going now while we're still good to go," Gijigume agrees with Trance.
Fah'lin nods and gets going the way we came.

The way you came in involved a fly spell.

As you exit through the large gates you hear a massive hunting horn blow and the baying of many (dire) wolves.
The party dashes for the hilltop where we initially began scouting the Steading. Those wolves will have a hard time keeping pace with the horses.
Fah'lin calls to Maeran-Cadail through their connection and asks her to try and get the other horses untied and ready to bolt.
Fah'lin takes up the rear, urging the others ahead. "Haha! They're mad now. Let's give 'em a good chase."

Horses are faster than wolves.
(The horses should be somewhere between here: https://www.dndbeyond.com/forums/d-d-beyond-general/play-by-post/19917-who-let-the-vamp-out-um-us?comment=843

But I presume closer to the first than the later.)

(Of course on horseback you can ride 120 feet and make an action and bonus action on your turn. We can keep ranged and pick off the wolves then.)

Will we call it a day while you can?

Indina Jonz welcomes you back and is quite horrified by what you have found out; Drow ambassadors, different types of giants joining forces.
