Shalech sees the 'calm' skeleton and says, "Surrisk, you might as well answer our questions now. We don't care about why you chose undeath over life. As far as that argument goes, you have no leg to stand on. So just answer and the sooner we finish, the sooner you can move on to the next phase of your death."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Nathan tells Kizori and Lura: "Fluffy tells me that the Surrisk has been captured. We might want to go and help Shalech there after we are done here." He also looks around as well:
Perception:10
and he casts Detect Magic to see if there is anything magical in the room
Shalech stares at Surrisk a moment. "If I wanted you afraid, there are ways I could make you fear me. But your intuition is wrong. That is not what I'm after. Just answers. You can answer them now, or wait until we find a way to compel you. All you're doing is resigning yourself to stare at us longer than you need to."
"I've looked down on you for years, it didn't bother me then..." Surrisk lets the sentence trail off.
Shalech nods, "Under much different circumstances, Surrisk. Many bad choices have turned the tables on you. We can resolve this here and now, just us and I can let you pass on. Or we can wait for everyone to be here and you'll have to satisfy everyone before this ends."
Nathan is quite surpirsed by Kizori's question: "I don't really know, but it seems to be occupied by these spectral wizards and their undead minions at the moment. We can ask around in town later, provided we survive this."
Syndra stares at Surrisk for a long moment before saying; "Answer his questions." She has focus, intent, and long held anger in her eyes.
Surrisk looks to her, then back to Shalech, before a sigh of disgust and frustration escapes from the skull. "Fine, what are your questions?"
"The tower has been abandoned for years, I'm sure the town wouldn't mi..." Lura cuts herself off midsentence. "...what in the world is that?"
As Nathan and Kizori fly upward through the shaft, you find that the tower continues significantly; as you find yourself in an open top round chamber, the walls dozens of feet tall and marred by magic time and time again. Lura is looking at a large round platform, surrounded by compartments, each holding some form of magical component or another. Across the platform are a series of ruins and arcane designs.
The only other exit is a large metal door with rungs attached to it, to aid in climbing out of the shaft. The door has a large circular doorway, with a round handle in the center.
Coldly Surrisk replies; "What more defenses does one need than a growing army of undead, an invisible tower, and immortal lieutenants."
Nathan; you can tell that this platform has been set up for a ritual of some kind, but has yet to be used. Kizori; you can tell that the raised circular platform, as well as the walls, were formed by a single piece of stone and magically shaped.

Surrisk continues to stare in silence for several minutes before saying; "I do not fear you star child." Syndra lands next to you.
Nathan, you check over the drawers as well, definitely locked. Checking you find nothing magical in the desk or the room.
Lura calls over from the shaft entrance; "Ready to go up higher?" She is already floating above the ground.
Shalech stares at Surrisk a moment. "If I wanted you afraid, there are ways I could make you fear me. But your intuition is wrong. That is not what I'm after. Just answers. Nathan calls back to Luna "Yes, nothing of note here. Shall we go, Kizori?"
Shalech nods, "Under much different circumstances, Surrisk. Many bad choices have turned the tables on you. We can resolve this here and now, just us and I can let you pass on. Or we can wait for everyone to be here and you'll have to satisfy everyone before this ends."
Kizori stops dusting the desk and looks up at Nathan, "Oh right." Then Chase's after him, "Hey, think anybody owns this place?"
Nathan is quite surpirsed by Kizori's question: "I don't really know, but it seems to be occupied by these spectral wizards and their undead minions at the moment. We can ask around in town later, provided we survive this."

Shalech sighs in relief. "Well, first question: Where is Kyristan?"
"Kyristan is in the dragon graveyard." The skull says; though you now notice that the jaw isn't moving.
"Oh neat." Kizori rushes over to the circle, and begins checking the workmanship. "Well placed stones, mortar perfect. This was made by expert hands."
Shalech nods, "Nothing new. Has Kyristan set up defenses, or does he think no one will attack?"
Nathan looks around, trying to figure out what this could be.
Arcana: 20
"Be careful, Kizori! This is surely something magical, and it could be dangerous!"
Coldly Surrisk replies; "What more defenses does one need than a growing army of undead, an invisible tower, and immortal lieutenants."

Shalech replies, "THIS invisible tower, or another in the Dragon Graveyard?"
"Huh, magic people will never ceases to amaze me." Kizori looks over at Nathan and says, "What should we do?"
Surrisk replies, with a sneer in his voice; "Oh, a much bigger tower than this; much much bigger."
Lura examines the door before turning the round doorknob several times. "I think it continues this way.
Shalech laughs, "Bigger is not better. Just usually means the owner is compensating. How would I gain entry into Kyristan's huge tower?"
