Backstory
Clan Steelheart was a mighty Clan of Dwarves who have been in the Kingdom of Gah’Zum since its beginning. They were among some of the most renowned healers and warriors in dwarven society. Like most of his clan, Vorkan had a special gift for healing. Wanting to do the most good with his talent, Vorkan joined the Gah’Zum Army in the Underdark defense. Assigned to the Iron Skull Battalion, Vorkan found the most reward healing dwarfs and sending them back to the front line. Still he felt he was missing something but he could not put his finger on it.
It wasn’t until later when a small unit of The Iron Skull was out on patrol that a company of Drow had ambushed them. Being in the thick of it and wanting to help, Vorkan picked up a Warhammer of his fallen comrade and took to the fight. As the first skull cracked under his mighty blow, Vorkan knew that he had found his place in the world. After fending off the remaining drow, he returned to his post and asked to be reassigned to The Stone Shields, a group of dwarven Paladins that where the last line of defense for Gah’Zun.
The Stone Shields put Vorkan through the ringer, testing his commitment to justice as well as his dedication to his cause. Once he had completed his training the final test was upon him. Like any good soldier, one must have knowledge of the world outside of the kingdom. That said, the final challegene was to be sent out into the world to find allies or to sharpen his skills for the glory of Gah’Zun.
15, 14, 13, 12, 10, 8 please use the standard array. I typed from memory when I did it, and got the 11 mixed in there on accident. Sorry for any problems this has caused. Everyone's characters look good for the most part and I will post the narrative in the morning. I will also setup the dice chat so we can keep each other honest.
From here on out lets please cut the Out Of Character chat or please flag it with OOC

Somewhere in the southern reaches of the Blackmoat, Darbannon Confederacy
In the early part of the evening, a small group of travelers arrive in a quiet, tucked away village of little significance. A small stop on a lesser trade way snaking up from the vast plains to the south. The group travels on foot, any horses now hard to come by since the Republic drafted them for their wars to the east. The last few days have been filled with intermittent rain, fog and hilly terrain. The travelers hold their cloaks tight over well-kept weapons and armor, the chill of winter still clings heavily to the province. The palls of smoke climbing from stout chimneys could be seen a few miles off, it had been almost a week since the group had seen a soul. The hills they travelled through start to give way to flat and marshy lands spattered with copses and forests of moss covered trees.
Farmers and dirty children tending to goats, sheep, and other small livestock can be seen quietly eyeing the travelers as they pass into new lands. Small wagons and carts filled with bushels of root vegetables collected in winter make their way to the parish in the distance. Just to the north along the muddy road, now lined with wattle and stone fences to divide property, sits a palisade. About a mile off a stout wood gate and wall surrounds a group of taller buildings (in comparison to the hovels seen on the way in) a pair of guards with leather jerkins, and wide brimmed metal helmets stand watch over the farmers and other villagers as they leave the gates. They firmly grip the spears as the party approaches…

Aerradin is the first to step forward and yell out at the farming folk. This sight has become very regular for him as he has dealt with a variety of these scenes in his near and distant past.
-"Village folk, we mean no harm, we are merely travelers looking for a place to rest! We provide help if needed!"
He turns to the group and sort of worrying glances at the group's weapons. In a softer voice, he speaks to his companions.
-"I feel that we might look a little intimidating seeing as how they are fearful and worried about something."
((OOC: I enjoy making a character guide for the players and sharing it. Keep in mind that this is mostly from the point of view of my character, so it will include what her thoughts may be on the other players. It has helped me remember everything better as well, so the original reason was selfish.))
ME (DUNGEON MAYA): Il’aria Gate
hates tyrants
orphan thief
always wears the pelt of a dire wolf that she killed
talks her way out of problems
MEHOW TORM: Vorkan Steelheart the Mountain Dwarf Paladin
was a cleric, but then he realized he liked violence too
Il'aria sees herself as a precision instrument, while Vorkan is a blunt tool. That doesn't mean she respects him any less, however.
PANCHWTF: Michael Oaktree the Human Bard
escaped a boring merchant life to adventure
Il'aria is a storyteller as well, so she'll probably like him
USURPEROFNESSUS: Aerradin the Wood Elf Ranger
has the wanderlust bug
lacks manners
watched his mentor die in a dragon fight
nature guy
Il'aria is not refined either, so the two can make fart jokes together or something
FINNY: Finnegan the Human Life Cleric
super religious and antisocial
inflexible
orphan buddies!
going an adventure to prove himself and spread Pelor's light
Il'aria is slightly jealous that his orphan upbringing went better than her own
AUBERGINIAN: Fergus Graysmith the Human Fighter
noble knight, which will make Il'aria instantly not trust him
eager to prove his worth
it's going to take some time for Il'aria to warm up to him, but she won't tell Fergus why she's not his biggest fan.
Fergus looks sideways at the elf, "Aye, they should be worried these are dark times."
Fergus then steps forward, distancing himself from the rest of his retinue, brandishes a gold coin in his right hand and holds high above his head so everyone nearby can see it.
In a loud clear voice that belies no doubt he is used to having people pay attention to him, "A Tasanarian gold to the first person who can lead me and my companions to an inn. Or if there is no inn in this Gods-forsaken land, then the gold for the first one to offer us shelter and a meal".

As for me, I choose to believe that an extinct thunder lizard is running a game of Dungeons & Dragons via Twitter!
With Fergus stepping forward Aerradin comments to the rest of the group.
-"The human doesn't realize that this isn't a normal case. With militia drawing their spears at anyone to approach, they must be in particular peril or distraught. Even villages nowadays with the problems of the world are not this on edge unless they are currently under threat. Anything less forward than this would be more suitable for the times, but this is a little extreme."
Aerradin takes a look at the village from their current stance, (Can I make a perception check?) scanning the houses and the scene before them.
Il'aria scans the group to see if she can make out anything in particular about some of the individuals. She is mostly looking for who appears to be the leader. "We mean you no harm," the half-elf smiles as warmly as she can in the cold. "And we are willing to do whatever you ask of us to prove that fact."
The two guards relax a little, the non-threatening demeanor of the party almost shining like sunlight on a stormy day. The two eye each other in agreement and lower their spears. The rough faces of both are calm but the weariness in their eyes spell another tail.
Rewis: “Hail travelers, I am Rewis, and my counterpart is Gery. We are apt to mistrust strangers, but if you have gold and mean no harm we can point you in the direction you seek. I don’t need your gold, please buy the wares of the farm folk for we have fallen on hard times and gold can go a long way. My needs are met, but the children need to be fed.”
Gery eyes the gold coin greedily but subsides to Rewis’ comment. The two guards push open the gates to Bellwood, little more than the size of a wagon. When the gate opens, a muddy road gives way to cobblestone and the larger buildings can be seen down the roadway. The smell of wood smoke and refuse hang heavy in the air.
Gery: “If you aint interested in stayin’ wit’ no farmer in an ay’loft I say head to The Scoundrel’s Cup It’s a shoddy inn as far as taverns but the barkeep is nice enough. Tell im’ Gery sent ye’ and I’m sure he’ll look out for ya’” Gery chuckles. “If you have a mind to stay out of trouble, stay indoors at night. It’s not safe as of late, best don’t poke yer nose where ye don’t belong”
Rewis sighs, “Don’t mind this one, he’s a deadbeat of guard and worse gambler at that” both Gery and Rewis laugh, the few they’ve had of late. “If you head to the village square you will find a variety of shops, the blacksmith, farmers selling wares and the Scoundrel’s Cup, the Mayor Elen -- an elf maiden – owns the place. The menu is poor, maybe artichoke porridge or beetroot. The ale is a few coppers and worth every one of em’”
On perception 15*
The guards wave the group through, the guards are clad in cheap leathers and iron helmets, they look inexperienced but otherwise kind and dutiful. The village center of Bellwood looks less dirty and unkempt as you suspected, but there are less children and other folk than there should be. The buildings are roughly 2 or 3 stories at most as you peer through the gate. The folk are mainly humans, halflings and elves, a few half elves and dwarves can be seen. A light storm can be seen moving in from the west.
