An uncertain amount of time has passed since Yuno was defeated by the demon. Now we find her in some kind of dungeon with a dead cultist at her feet. She does not have any of her equipment with her. Yuno cracks her knuckles and says, "You guys really should have just killed me instead of locking me up as a sacrifice." She looks around. She is in a stone dungeon section. "You there?" She hears the other cultist say something. "Shit..." She was not nearly stealthy enough killing the guy that came to take her to the altar to be sacrificed.
Stealth: 7 (Heroic Inspiration: 23)
Yuno quickly takes the cultist's scimitar and hides. When the other cultist enters to see why his buddy was taking so long, Yuno ambushes him.

Yuno slits the cultist's throat. "I need to find my gear." She says. Thankfully, she had cleared out most of the base so it was VERY understaffed.

Past the dungeon is a small hallway that ends in a hatch on the floor. The hatch is open. Peeking down Yuno notices that it leads to the marble floored hub area. Quietly, she climbs down. Then she hears footsteps coming from the east. She ducks and hides behind the elevated platform. A Spy walks past this place. However she doesn't notice Yuno hiding there. Yuno does not want to fight her while armed with nothing but a scimitar. Thankfully, because Yuno explored almost the entirety of the fort except for that weird shed in the yard, she has a good idea of where they may have hidden her stuff. She slips back into the treasure room, now knowing the handle combination to open it.
Inside the well, as expected, she finds her gear. She takes some time to re-arm herself. "Now... where were we?"
Yuno makes her way down into the boss room once more. There she sees two cultists ready to sacrifice her but they weren't expecting her to escape and come here herself.
Stealth vs Perception: NAT1
As Yuno tries to sneak up on them she alerts the cultists. They say, "WHAT? HOW DID YOU ESCAPE? No matter. This time we will simply kill you here and now." Yuno laughs and says, "Oh yeah? Last time I wiped the floor with you and I wasn't even at full power. What makes you think you can take me out now?" That's when she feels the cold again. The Shadow demon reappears. It says, "You truly are stupid aren't you? Or do long to die? I will fulfill that wish."

The demon and the cultists attack Yuno together. With her left sword, she blocks the demon's attack while with her right, she blocks the cultist's dagger. However the other cultist sees his opportunity and tries to stab Yuno in the gut. Yuno is defenseless against this attack. She tries her best to dodge and barely succeeds. The dagger does open a gash on her belly though. Pushing the demon and the cultist away, she brings both her swords down on the guy that just tried to stab her. The swords land on his neck and he gets decapitated. Yuno then speaks the Drift Globe's command word and it floods the room in Daylight.
The Duo takes the bear down just barely.. pun intended.
200 xp and 80 bounty split. brown bear
200xp and 40gp bounty for the Zombies
Total so far 400xp and 120gp split.
The gather their bounties and head back to town.
Getting back at night they get a meal and an ale to drink while talking as the bards play. The spend 3 sp each.
The next morning, they go to Evelyn and Varnak to settle up the loot and bounties.
Bargus pays the inn for 2 nights to get on the same schedule as Dak so they both have 5 nights of lodging.
They will head out right away to get to the wood and camp the night to get ready tomorrow.

The bright flash of light seems to temporarily blind both the demon and the cultist. Yuno menacingly looms behind the cultist and slits his throat. She then turns to the demon and says, "Round 2 you bastard! Let's go!" The demon says, "Foolish girl. Do you not remember what I did to you the last time? This time, you will not be lucky enough to wake up."

The demon roars and swings, its claw rakes against Yuno's gut. Yuno grunts in pain and steps back, taking a few deep breaths and letting her wounds heal a bit. She does not want a repeat of last time. Yuno takes a slight hop forward and swings the sword in her right hand down in an arc. She slashes the demon's chest but her weapons are not very effective against it.

Yuno and the demon both attack at the same time with a cry. Yuno's sword and the demon's claw clashes. However, Yuno still had a sword in her left hand. She lunges, the sword pierces though the demon's chest and comes out the back, dripping with black inky blood. The demon poofs into smoke and materializes in front of Yuno. "Your puny weapons can't harm me" It claims. Yuno retorts, "Ummm... I don't know if I buy that one. That looked pretty painful to me."

The demon screams in rage at Yuno's lack of respect or fear despite the danger she is in and despite how she would have been dead already if the cultists didn't try to keep her to sacrifice later. It lunges for Yuno's head but Yuno turns her body to dodge it. The claw passes in front of her face and Yuno lifts her sword and chops on the demon's arm. As the demon recoils back in pain, grasping its bleeding arm, Yuno makes a lunge of her own with her left hand but the demon knocks her sword away to avoid the blow.

Having swatted Yuno's sword away the Demon swipes at Yuno's face. "People just keep forgetting..." Yuno thinks "I have TWO swords!" With a move of her right wrist, she strikes the demon's elbow, causing it to bend. The demon's attack is foiled and its black blood spills on the ground. Yuno does not relent though. With the left sword that was knocked away a bit, she redirects and plunges the blade between the demon's ribs... or at least where she assumes its ribs are. The demon screeches in pain.

Between the light and Yuno's twin swords, the demon was actually struggling. Yuno's last attack had gotten her face quite close to the demon's. She taunts, "Pe-ew! You stink!" Enraged, the demon tries to part Yuno's head from her shoulders but she lens to one side. The demon's arm rubs against the golden armor covering her shoulder as it misses its lunge. Yuno doesn't miss however. She stabs the demon at the bottom of its jaw, the sword point stabbing the upper side of its mouth. Yuno rips her sword out of the demon and then steps to be facing the demon from the side. She then chops it at the back of the neck with the same right-handed sword that she used to stab it in the face. The demon would have been dead by now if Yuno's weapons didn't have such a hard time damaging the monster.

The demon couldn't believe what was happening. Was it really the one that was struggling against this 19 year old human girl? "IMPOSSIBLE" It shouts before blindly swiping at Yuno again. But Yuno jumps back, letting the demon flail around against the air before finding her opportunity to strike. She makes two swift and quick stabs with her swords almost wielding them like rapiers in this instance. She stabs the demon once in the shoulder and once right in the middle of its chest. However the demon's magical defenses still keeps her swords from sinking very deeply into the skin though she is doing damage. The wounds the demon received drip more of its inky blood on the stone floor.

Now fully given to bloodlust, the demon screams, "I WILL RIP OUT YOUR HEART". It aims for Yuno's chest but Yuno simply dodges the attack. She says, "You really shouldn't tell your opponent how you're gonna attack before you do it." Yuno makes a powerful swing. The blade rips across the demon's throat. This attack causes the demon to reel in pain. Copious amounts of black blood pour from this wound. Yuno says, "Hey, I think that one actually did some very serious damage."

The demon swings wildly but this time, it makes contact with Yuno's belly. Yuno steps back with a gasp of pain, clutching her wound. The demon smiles, thinking that it has finally taught the insolent girl a lesson. But then Yuno begins laughing maniacally. She says, "Hah! You finally got me that time. My turn." The demon watches as a lot of her wounds heal slightly and then before it knew it, Yuno's sword blade was embedded into its chest. It pushes Yuno away, drained from the combat. Yuno taunts it, "You're getting weaker~"

The demon and Yuno both charge at each other and swing. Yuno feels another gash open up on her gut while the demon feels a gash on his chest that explodes out black blood everywhere. Both combatants look at each other, panting and in serious condition. Anyone could win now.

Both are very careful with their strikes now since any powerful hit could result in death. The demon and Yuno walk around each other. It makes a quick lunge only for it to be swatted away with Yuno's sword. A small cut appears on the demon's hand.

"Your time is up girl!" The Shadow demon says. It swipes across Yuno's throat. Yuno clutches the slashed wound and then collapses on to the ground, pool of blood around her neck. The demon takes a moment to breathe and compose itself. "That girl... it shouldn't have been that hard to kill her." It thinks to itself. But then, its eyes go wide in terror as it hears a mad cackling. Laughing, Yuno gets back up. She is heavily injured but still alive somehow. She begins approaching the demon menacingly, her swords scraping against the floor. "W-what are you???" The demon says, now terrified of the girl coming closer. Yuno answers, still upbeat as always, "Me? I'm Yuno Sunforge, friendly neighborhood serial killer. And... I am going to serial kill you." The demon screams in terror as Yuno's blades chop into it repeatedly. At the end, Yuno stands, covered in both demon blood and her own blood, nearly dead. The shadow demon and the cultist's corpses lie at her feet. She tilts her head to look at it and says, "Boy do I have a story to tell when I get back to the inn. I should take some stuff as proof."
Yuno takes the shadow demon's head and some of the cultists' heads as well as their robes. Then she carefully makes her way out of the fort. Mission accomplished. She goes to where she had parked her wagon and then heads home, having spent a total of 5 days over the course of this entire adventure.She is looking forward to a long rest at the tavern, her murderous nature satisfied for now. (3 GP)
One question does remain though... why were bandits summoning demons and worshiping dark gods? It may be something for the people at the Hollow to be concerned about. Not Yuno though. As long as she gets to kill things, she doesn't really care and she's happy.

When Yuno searches the room, providing enough light to investigate the summoning chamber, she’s met with a horrifying sight.
In the center of the room, an elaborate ritual circle is etched into the stone floor, glowing faintly with dark energy. Scattered around the edges of the chamber are the bodies of former Ash Wolves, twisted and disfigured by demonic corruption.
They bear symbols of the cult, scrawled in blood on their armor and flesh.
As Yuno examines the room, she finds evidence by way of cryptic notes written in a journal.
Helga's Journal Entry 1
“We were once the best. The Ash Wolves. Respected. Feared, but in the right way. Captain Stannus had us on contracts that paid well, and the towns praised our names. But it all went wrong after the King’s Road job. Betrayed by that noble, Gideon Steele. Left us without pay and with our reputation in tatters. Desperate men do desperate things, and now… we’ve turned to raiding. Gold’s flowing again, but it’s dirty. The kind that sticks to your soul and never washes off. I can see it in their eyes. We’re slipping.”
Helga's Journal Entry 2
“Stannus met with someone last night. Stranger. Pale face, dark robes. He said they called themselves just Shadows. Offered us riches, power. We didn’t ask questions. We should’ve asked questions. Now they have us on retainer, sending us on raids, paying more than we ever made before. Feels wrong. But it’s the only path we’ve got. I can hear whispers in my sleep now. Whispers I can’t shake.”
Helga's Journal Entry 3
“It wasn’t supposed to go like this. We were mercenaries, not monsters. But Stannus brought us deeper into that cult’s game. They gave us rituals, dark magic. Said it would make us stronger. Stannus went along with it, the desperate fool. We started chanting their words, wearing their marks. It worked. The power came. But it wasn’t ours. “We’re not Ash Wolves anymore. I don’t know what we are. The cult’s magic twisted us, tied us to their will. We’re no longer mercenaries—just slaves to their rituals. I see Stannus, but he’s not there. Not really. None of us are. We summon the shadows now. I can’t even remember why we started this. We’ve become something else, something dark. There’s no escape. Not for me. Not for us. I just hope someone ends it before we tear everything apart.”

Back at the tavern, Yuno walks in to the bar. She tells Liam, "Gonna need a bath and some ice cream. Had a wild adventure taking on a bandit base... or was it a cult base... Eh they were both." She plops a bloody bag on the bar table in front of Liam. It has the heads of some cultists, their robes and the Shadow Demon's head. She then starts to regale him with tales of the adventure she had. She also mentioned the diary but in her own careless way, "Also found the journal of someone named Helga. Talked about weird spoopy demon shit." She waves the bloodied journal and says, "I brought it with me in case someone wanted to read it themselves."
Liam grabs ahold of Helga's journal with both hands, squeezing it as he fights away tears. "Aye, do ye mind not getting blood on the bar?" Liam looks in the bag and can identify the heads, "I know these blokes. Them be Ash Wolves. I'll pay bounties for these four bandits."
He removes the bloody bag from the room and tosses a small pouch with 30 gp.
"I'll take this journal too."
