Grundam musters his inner strength, and with a mighty kick the door is knocked out of the doorway. It slams on the ground as a blinding light initially obscures his view. After a few seconds, his vision readjusts and he can see ahead of him what appears to be a whole lot of sand as a waft of immense heat seems to slowly encroach into the room.
“Guys look!” She points at the motes. “These things have been closing in on us since up there. Maybe we should get going through that door.”
((Can I do a check to see if I know if they’re dangerous or not? From what I gathered so far they move freely in the dark and are able to dim my torch’s flame. If there is no check I’ll just relay that information to the party))
(Thursday's noted that so she can chat to the group about it fine)
Steve steps out into the bright area. He appears to be standing atop a large sand dune in the middle of a desert, the bright sweltering sun overhead beams in an open blue sky. Looking behind him appears to be a small stone building with a spire that seems to go up into the sky seemingly forever.
Thursday is never one to leap into something she hasn't scouted out but these motes are freaking her out and Steve doesn't seem to be in any danger thus far... she follows him through the light.

Gash- Lvl14 Goblin Wizard - The High Court of the Aasimar Queen
Looking out into the seemingly endless hills of sand, Steve can spot off in the distance what appear to be more spire-like towers reaching up into the sky.
There is also another thing that he seems to pick up on through the wavy heat visage ahead. Atop a particularly tall sand dune there appears to be what might be a large black orb. From this distance it is too difficult to make out the form.
The group hears an echo of what could be a birdcall come from somewhere in the vast desert. It is hard to determine the location, but it may be towards the tall hill.
Walking out into the desert, the blazing heat seems to push down on the group like a thick coat of air and their bare feet feeling the sting of the sand. Following along the dune the party finds themselves slowly going up the incline as they can see that they have walked a fair way from the small stone building they came from. Using as a waypoint, they arrive to the top of the dune. It appears that the black orb-shaped device appears to be some sort of floating sphere of metal. It bobs lightly in the air, about 10 feet from the ground, and seems perfectly smooth.
Not atop the dune, the party has a better view of the landscape. We'll use cardinal points for ease of convenient.
To the north, the group can see the building you came from, the door still flat on the ground in the sand.
To the east, the group can see beyond another dune something that seems to be maybe a small smoke trail.
To the west, the group can see what appears to be another spire leading up into the sky.
To the south, the group sees that the dune drops for a while, and there are small swirling cycles of sand and what appears to be a couple of cacti.
I take hold of the femur looking it over for a second. I want to kick the door open.
