Considering how many applied for the first PotA thread I put up, I've decided to do another one. Some background for those who don't know this adventure:
Princes of the Apocalypse is an adventure about 4 cults of elemental evil, and takes place mainly in the Desarin Valley of Faerun. This adventure is mainly a sandbox dungeon crawl. There are 13 dungeons in the game, not including side treks. The environment of this game is completely open, so you could accidentally end up in the 11th level dungeon right after completing the 7th level one. I will not be controlling your movements, so this could happen. This campaign runs from 1st level to 15th level, but the actual main story begins at 3rd level. At this point, your characters would not know about these cults, but they would know about mysterious happenings and odd weather paterns.
To "apply" for this adventure, make a level one character using Standard Array or Point Buy stats. Feel free to use any sources you like, just avoid UA. Critical Role content will be accepted. Evil alignments are accepted, however you will be expected to work with the other party members, not join the cults. In addition, please be able to post at least once a day. Either reply to this thread or send me a PM to apply. Your reply should somewhat follow this template:

A little bit about me:
I've been playing D&D for about 4 years (or at least knowledgeable about it). I only about a year ago actually started up a campaign IRL (which I'm DMing), and chose PotA for it. While I don't have too much experience DMing, I'm fairly knowledgable about D&D itself and PotA. My time zone is US EST (Michigan).
Currently playing in: Quest for the Shunned City, Coliseum of Conquest, DragonDenn's Dragonlords, Shipwrecked on Fugue, Tomb of Annihilation, Razor's Lost Mine of Phandelver, The Lost Kenku & One Grung Above
Currently DMing: Princes of the Apocalypse, Out of the Abyss, Coliseum of Conquest—The Arena (Sometimes)
One of my rejected characters that I had fun building its backstory.
Name: Oriax Morthos
Race/Class: Dispater Tiefling / Warlock
Backstory:
Oriax came to a shady looking caravan where he heard you can find whatever you want, whenever you need. He was looking for a research material he needed for his next theathrical act. He landed a role of a young rich merchant with a peculiar hobby. Not wanting to waste the opportunity of being famous, he decided to learn more about this peculiar hobby in order to visualize and portay his character.
"Anyone in here? I'm looking for a certain item."
He waits until a creaking sound can be heard inside one of the wagons. He tried to take a good look but his vision can't seem to penetrate the darkness looming inside of it. A voice speaks and asks him.
"What item it is?"
"A book of learning."
"And what book is it in particular, young man?"
"A book about bondage....."
An awkward silence fills the vicinity when a book was thrown to directly to his forehead. He began to read it to check its authenticity, when he felt a sharp pain on his mind, as if something is trying to fill it with nonsensical gibberish. A couple of minutes later, when he looked around the caravan was nowhere near and only a vacant lot can be seen on its previous location.
After becoming successful of his role, the sharp pain from his head begins to worsen. Over time, it affected his career as he can't seem to rest when decided to get guidance to a local church and saw one of the nuns praying diligently. Slowly he began to hear a whisper in a deep voice.
"You know, that nun looks good tied up in chains."
"What the f---? Where's that coming from?"
"Oh you can hear me? It seems exhaustion took a toll on you and now you can hear my voice. Very well, since you unknowingly entered a pact with me I'll tell you who I am. I have various titles: the Black Sun, the Father of Elder Evils, the Author of Wickedness, the Eater of Worlds, the Chained God, but you may call me Tharizdun."
"I know getting something free isn't a good thing. Tch."
"Now, now. We both don't have any choice on this matter since it's already been done. My thoughts wil continue to haunt you as long as I am alive, and from what I know, I'm immortal, so tough luck buddy. However, there are a few ways you can stave off my boredom thus preventing me from making you insane.
You see Oriax, I have a profound hatred of all the gods, whether they are good or evil. So my task for you is to find their devout disciples and bind them, just like what their patrons did to me, humiliate them if possible. If you can make them fall from grace, the better."
"And if I don't do it?"
"You'll slowly spiral into madness, like your predecessors, until you become insane or die, whichever of the two comes first."
Thus Oriax left the dazzling stage and began his travels to satisfy his otherwordly patron or until he could find something to remove his connection to him without getting insane or dying.

As with all Drow sons born to minor houses, the best Arvam could hope for was finding himself carved open on the bloody altar of the Queen of Spiders. His survival was dependent on having the good fortune of having an incredibly talented older sister. With innate Arcane prowess under her belt, she pulled herself out of her lowly station and into the household of one of the "noble" clans. Arvam rode her coattails. He made himself useful in their new home as little more than a servant, learned to maneuver in the endless tunnels, discovering their quiet pockets and barely avoiding the monsters that shared them.
He grew vicious and callous in the sadistic, treacherous, and hedonistic belly of the Underdark, but found solace deep in the tunnels, where no one could find him collecting the glowing lichens that sprouted by the iciest pools or charming silvery moths from the edge of faerzress run-offs. He would have burned out eventually, lost his head one way or another, until he found himself in the most peculiar company. Someone even more wretched than him, a lowly elf slave nature somehow made him both more and less significant than Arvam. He didn't expect to find a friend. A suicide mission ended their friendship on the kindest note, but Arvam snuck his friend back Above Ground.
It was the first time he'd ever seen the moon. His punishment was swift and severe, but luck, or divine intervention spared him before the end. His escape was nothing short of miraculous, and he fled from his home until his legs could carry him no further. It was then that he found his calling. The Goddess Eilistraee. He spent years in her service, healing and rediscovering the Underdark and all the ways it could be so much more. She had a vision for the her people, for their future and their souls, and Arvam would do everything in his power to help her. Eventually his patron guided him back to the surface, with a quest to fulfill: find a lost temple of Eilistraee, one powerful enough to establish a sanctuary for her followers.

Shivani was the head druid of her tribe and loved by all. She ruled with an iron fist and distrusted anyone who got near her and her family.
To regular people they seemed like savages, and many believed they killed the poor folk who come across their tribe deep in the swamps. It was a lie, but many of the people who transverse the swamps are never truly fully prepared for the endeavor and end up perishing, only to be found by her tribesmen days later.
However, there was an attack on her people and she was ripped away from her family, taken by those who wished to do some 'experimentations' on her and her tribesmen. She had to watch as many of her people died fighting back from the attack on her people, and she lives on to get her revenge and go back home, to see if anything or anyone was left behind.

Backstory: Hansel was once a humble cleric of Sune. His mission was to spread love and courage - whether it was on the streets with beggars or in a brothel with beautiful women. After he left the temple, he traveled with a group of adventurers along the coast. He wasn't valued much as a cleric, choosing to use potions rather than his own healing spells. One evening the group went into a dungeon and faced many foes. During a battle, Hansel was turned to stone by a cockatrice and left for dead. It wouldn't be until years later when his body was recovered and Sunite priests brought him to life. While he was happy to be alive, he discovered he could no longer use healing magic. Hansel was angry at his goddess for seemingly abandoning him and angry with himself for being weak. He felt lost for a few years until he came across a village being attacked by a demon.
Hansel found a sword and threw himself into battle to aid a paladin of Selune. Throwing caution to the wind, he fought the demon with no concern for his safety. After the demon was sent back, Hansel wandered the land until Sune appeared in front of him. She told him he would no longer serve her as a priest but as a blood hunter and gave him a sword to bond with. Hansel is discovering his powers. When he activates his rite powers, his right forearm bleeds - which was wear the cockatrice attacked him.

Often volunteering to fight in the first line of battle to receive higher pay, he soon became known as a reliable presence on the frontlines and his valiant service even brought him the command over his own company. X'rax was always interested in more than just warfare making him an outside in Githyanki culture. When he was was a young teen he become interested in the arcana arts and began studying whenever his physical training allowed him to do so.
With growing knowledge X'rax began questioning the teachings of the elders and finally rebelled against the mindless loyality towards the lich-queen Vlaakith. When he began to openly oppose the teaching his friends and foes alike decided he was a threat to the Githyanki. They took away his possessions, cast him trough a portal and banished him to this strange material plane.
Now he seeks revenge and has a crude plan but for that he needs to reequip himself and grow much stronger. Over the time he was already able to gather some mundane items but has yet to find another spellbook which is his highest priority now. Nevertheless he also became quite fond of these primitive creatures he is now forced to live upon even making some friends.

no worries, I updated my post with a new character.
Gash - Lvl14 Goblin Wizard - The High Court of the Aasimar Queen
Name: Ery
Race/Class: Changeling Cleric
Backstory: Ery is a bit unique. Ery was born under the full moon and therefore received the blessing of Selûne. After bearing witness to some other townspeople burn down Ery’s home with Ery’s family still inside, Ery managed to disguise their self and slip away. After this incident, Ery developed a bit of a multiple personality disorder as a way of coping. Now you can imagine this would be especially interesting due to Ery’s race. Ery traveled from town to town, earning a living in whatever way they could at the time.
