I watch my arrow sail far down the hill. My vision begins to clear and I realize I had aimed at a distant cloud and not the giant. And even then my arrow was far off target. The giant falling to the ground breaks my self chastisement. I turn and aim another (+1) arrow at the giant smashing his club down on Vigan. I make a small adjustment, then exhale and let the bow rock forward loosely in my grip. The arrow sails at the remaining giant.
Attack: 19 Damage: 7
The giant is caught off-guard by my attack. (Sneak attack damage: 8)

Andor
Rushing closer to the battle now the other giant has fallen [N23] Andor whispers to himself "Toe to toe with a hill giant, he's certainly got a pair..." As he sees several arrows bite he casts another Ray of Frost at his enemy hoping to slow his reactions if the party need to pull back.
Despite avoiding the first blow, the goliath takes a hammering from the greatclub on the second swing. Staggered slightly, he regains his composure and again faces the giant, ready for its next onslaught.
The giant's satisfaction at clubbing Vigan quickly fades as he is struck by two more arrows, the first of which showers him with thorns. (Additional piercing damage: 5)
Immediately thereafter, the giant feels the stinging cold from Andor's spell. Simultaneously desperate and furious, he prepares to level two more swings at Vigan.
Greatclub attack 1: 16 | Bludgeoning damage, if successful: 17
Greatclub attack 2: 17 | Bludgeoning damage, if successful: 16
Dodging the giant's first swing, and deflecting the second with his weapon, the Goliath continues to frustrate his larger opponent. Using the momentum from blocking the second swing, he slashes low at the giant's legs in response.
Attack: 15 Bless: 3
Damage: 10 Riposte: 5
Edit - did this quickly on mobile, so apologies if any numbers are out.
Vigan's blade slices deeply into the giant's leg, and the damage is nearly great enough to cause the giant to fall. The massive brute does steady himself, but there are clear signs this fight will soon end.
(Andor, Carrow, Ladrian, and Rixton may take actions in any order)
A flurry of ranged attacks are then unleashed on the giant. Andor and Rixton, in their haste to bring down the brute, miss their target, but it is Ladrian, with one perfect final shot, who ends the giant's life. The giant drops his greatclub, takes two weak-kneed steps backward, and then falls over like a felled tree.
"We have done a good thing here", the goliath says with satisfaction. "I apologise if my actions appeared rash, but I could not let them simply walk away."
Turning to Andor and gesturing to the homestead, he continues. "The building is empty, correct? Those giants were searching for something, although they did not say what."

Rixton:
I pick myself up, stiffly and avoiding too much motion of the tender spots. "Let's see what we have, then. I'll search the house if one or two of you look over the giants. If you find any of those expensive arrows of mine, I'd dearly love them back."
I limp over to the house and begin search through what I can. Investigation: 25
In the span of a few minutes, the group is able to search the house, the battlefield, and the sacks that were being carried by the hill giants. The house is empty, and the absence of anything valuable suggests that its occupants may have left permanently. No animals roam the paddock, and there are no chickens in the coop.
The sacks reveal that the giants have been pillaging the area, primarily in search of food. The entirety of their contents is as follows:
Ten salted trout
A dented shield
An empty wooden chest
One dead chicken
A clay pot filled with honey
A bag of salt
A haunch of meat
One 5' length of chain
Andor is able to reclaim one of the two bolts he fired. Ladrian finds four of the seven bolts he fired. Rixton finds three of the six arrows (+1), and Carrow finds two of the four regular arrows he fired and two of the three arrows (+1).
Surveying the small skirmish as he repacks the reclaimed arrows the ranger nods with approval a tough fight, tougher for some rather than others he thinks looking over Rixton.
"Well fought friends, you did the right thing Vigan they could not go unchecked into the wilderness, I think we should regroup in the home, I shall round up the horses"
Rounding up the horses Carrow tethers them in the small paddock.
"I can set an alarm around the perimeter we could rest here, we took some hits from these brutes"
"You mind if I keep this?" I say, holding up the 5 feet of chain. I turn the meat on the spit as we sit in the ruins of the house, recovering from our battle. I just shake my head as I stare into the fire. I can't believe I almost died again.
Strengthen you body as well as your mind. I fall into a meditative trance.
Feeling his ruined cloak from the attack he says "Damn, that boulder hurt like hell! 2 giants versus 5 of us, that was not an easy feat... And not something I would like to repeat! Let's take cover and decide our next steps." He picks up his recovered bolts.
Settling down on his bedroll, Vigan stares at he ceiling while going through the battle in his head. His glaive had drawn its first blood, but he was still not completely familiar with the new weapon, it was not yet an extension of his body. It will come in time... Ladrian's words draw his attention, and he sits up to address him.
"Giant numbers will only increase as we head north, but we now know we have the skill and spirit to defeat them as one."

I take the chance while the giant shows his weakness. I nock the next (+1) arrow, aim, and release in one smooth motion.

"Nobody answered me when I called and I didn't see anyone but I couldn't search properly, it looks like people live here, hopefully they were away."
Andor shrugs his shoulders and nods in the direction of the sack the giant had, with the contents that looked too large to be stones.
"I'm going to see what was in that bag the giant was carrying."
