Wendell considers for a moment, then gestures and says "Themm". His eyes flash purple for a moment, and he inspects the mark on Guan Hao's forehead.
"Hmm... Seems to be a very weak aura of Transmutation about you. I can't get rid of it, but it seems like it will fade in time. I could also cover it up if you wish?"
Guan Hao slaps his hand across his forehead and keeps it pressed there. "But what is it? What cursed script is it written in? Some foul tongue of the Underdark? Have I been marked by one of the foul daemons of the pit?"
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Wendell's face grows grave, "Yes. One of the most powerful curses I've ever seen. It is beyond my, perhaps beyond anyone's power to lift. I'm sorry Guan Hao I... I sought to keep this from you for your own peace of mind."

Gisi steps forward, "I have some... small skill in magic, might I try to assist, friend Guan Hao?"

Gisi steps forward, "I have some... small skill in magic, might I try to assist, friend Guan Hao?"
Guan Hao turns toward the Dragonborn, and slowly slides his hands away from his brow, tense and wary.
"I warn you, lizard woman, the vile deviltry of our foes is subtle and cruel. Nevertheless, I will accept your assistance."
Gisi waves a hand and says, "Be gone, vile malediction, trouble our friend no more. Pascha."
The mark vanishes from Guan Hao's forehead.
Guan Hao winces as she speaks, then slowly turns toward the glass where he peers at his reflection. Seeing the diabolical script has vanished, he throws himself at Gisi's feet and flings his arms around her knees.
"I am delivered! By the Head of Vecna, you have saved me, scaly wench!"
He bursts into tears (real ugly crying, boogers and everything), wipes his eyes on her skirt, stands up, and bows deeply. "I pledge myself to your service. My life is yours, misshapen abomination though you be. An enlightened warrior respects benevolence and wisdom, whatever form it may take."
Gisi smiles, "I accept your oath, your life, and your service. Guard me and mine to the best of your ability, for as long as you may live, and answer my summons when you are called. Do this, and there shall be no debt between us."

Guan Hao salutes with his glaive, a spatter of green mucus still smeared across his stony cheek.
[Wendell has 2 potions of healing. Those who want to search for more, roll an investigation check, with advantage because now everyone has a better idea of which stalls and merchants to check with.]
[Recall that, as a party, we still have the following from our prior expedition:

Spell Scroll (Expeditious Retreat)
Spell Scroll (Nystul’s Magic Aura)
Spell Scroll (Protection from Evil and Good)
Spell Scroll (Charm Person)
Spell Scroll (Druidcraft)
Spell Scroll (Hail of Thorns)
Spell Scroll (Healing Word)
Spell Scroll (Sanctuary)
Chest of Potions – 8 out of the 10 vials contain potions
Potion of Healing X 4
Potion of Greater Healing X 2
Potion of Water Breathing
Potion of Fire Breath
I think we left these as community items and never specified who would carry what. I propose we store them in the ruins camp for now - easier access while we explore the subterranean forest - and take whatever we want with us. We can haul whatever is left along with us to a new base of operations when we go wherever we go next.]

[Guan Hao will take 1 potion of healing and 1 potion of greater healing from the "common store," and search the local merchants for more.]
Balasar sees Guan Hao examining what appears to be the last healing potion from the general store. The owner, Simon Weaver, is launching into a sales pitch extolling the virtues of the potions he sells and guarantees of their efficacy.

Guan Hao casts an indifferent eye over the wares on offer, rubbing his chin thoughtfully and glancing around to see if Elaric or Wendell are near by.

"Ah... it... it's a variant of common, and it seems to be a mark of honor praising your worthiness in battle."
4 Deception.
6 Wisdom.
Guan Hao's eyes narrow. He puts his other hand over the first, so that both are now pressed firmly across his forehead.
"You lie, bookworm! Some dark malediction is upon me, I can feel it! Why do you fear to speak the truth?"
He leans in close, his voice dropping further, shaking with apprehension.
"Am I...am I under the evil eye? The jinx? The hoodoo?"
Wendell's face grows grave, "Yes. One of the most powerful curses I've ever seen. It is beyond my, perhaps beyond anyone's power to lift. I'm sorry Guan Hao I... I sought to keep this from you for your own peace of mind."

[Potions check ? Right now I only have 1 common Potion of Healing on Guan Hao's character sheet. What and how many potions are you all carrying?
Andy, options for buying potions in town?]

Guan Hao finds a single healing potion. Apparently Narin's men have already been through here. (50 GP)

Alas for Guan Hao. Before departing, Wendell said he needed to start preparing a summoning ritual to retrieve Fluss from the Feywild.
He shells out for the potion, hoping it's not just water and food coloring.
[50 GP deducted from character sheet. What kind of potion - common or greater?]
