"If by rest you mean the prolonged rest of death, a pile of corpses would be a fitting location, though in my opinion not perfect. I am in no need of a rest but we obviously shouldn't take pointless risks. How long do you require for your rest? If it is for a long time, I can create a protective barrier (leomund's tiny hut as a ritual) around us. I would prefer to rest on the top level where it is cleaner."
Dennis grimaced at Yuno's comment. "Bloodbath or not, I'm not going down there if we're breaking. I'd prefer to not wallow in manticore droppings and sea lion guts. Though I would like it if you brought Mathers' body up."

Dennis had to turn away as Yuno plopped Mather's body down in front of him. "Ugh. He still smells. I had hoped the sea lions would've cleaned all the flesh off his bones..." Standing up, Dennis paced in a circle around the body. "Freeze. Freeze. Freeze. I do NOT want that smell sticking around. Freeze. Freeze." Having effectively frozen all of Mather's remaining flesh, Dennis carefully (and not without gagging) peeled the flesh off his bones. "Could we stay here for just a bit longer? I'd rather not leave him here like this."
Taking a deep breath, he turned his spellbook to the page covered in necromatic symbols. He began to focus his mana into a stream, pouring forth from his hand. After ten minutes of this, Dennis spoke aloud, "From death into new life, a servant is born. Animate Dead."
With a clack and a few creaks, Mathers' skeleton began to rise on its own, given psuedo-life by Dennis' spell. Cocking its head to the side, it surveyed the party, before facing Dennis and kneeling. Dennis sighed. "That's enough of that. I wish that I didn't learn the version of the spell where they always have to 'swear their fealty' to me."
You are refreshed and ready to explore. The places you have not yet been are the eastward passage at the intersection preceding the ziggurat and the corridor at the base.
If by "corridor at the base" you mean at the base of the ziggurat, Yuno will say, "Alright. I'm refreshed and ready to kill some more sorry saps. Now let's see what all those monsters were guarding." Yuno takes her bags and her armor off so that they don't get heavy and make it easier for enemies to hit her and then...
(If the water is deep enough) Yuno takes a deep breath and makes a running jump to dive into the water. (If the water is not deep enough) Yuno climbs down and goes into the water.
In both possible scenarios, Yuno will not touch the floor of that platform where the Manticore were kept since she still has the fact that the manticores didn't fly up after them in her mind.
Peering through the bars of the door (it's actually more of a gate, I guess), you look down the corridor and see a well furnished but flooded room. Nothing has changed since you saw it before. You can reach through the bars to the other side and undo the lock with ease.
(How much water are we talking? Is the whole thing underwater?)
Yuno takes out her trusty grappling hook and uses it to test the floors and walls for anything that might have kept the Manticore where they were. Sticky stuff perhaps?

Alexandria watched as Dennis froze the corpse of their fallen comrade. "That's gross." She commented, but her eyes never moved away from the performance, even when he started to pick off Mather's flesh. Needless to say, she was impressed at the fact he brought the other back to life... Well kinda of, her eyebrows raising at the thought of an idea. "We could use him to check to see if it's safe down there, you know? Kinda like bait? Put him through that gate first."

Dennis blinked at Alexandria's suggestion. "I mean, I'd prefer to have another normally, but that's a good idea I suppose." As he climbed down the terrace, he paused for a moment. "That came out wrong. I do not wish ill upon any of you, I promise. I merely meant that I'd prefer to have at least one Mathers once we go through that gate." Taking Alexandria's suggestion, he sent skeleton Mathers through the gate before the rest of the party.
The water is only about 2 ft deep. Skeleton Mathers absentmindedly wanders into the room and looks around. He does not trigger any traps of provoke any monsters.
This room is covered in gaudy cushions and drapes, and an ornate chest sits at the back, opened and empty. A piece of cork bobs in the water. Quite odd. You start noticing more unsettling details. A few small bones, picked clean, drift along the flooded floor. Yet whatever inhabited this place must have had fine tastes, as there is a nice collection of exotic teas and pottery on a shelf. Dennis knows his History and immediately recognizes that all the materials required to perform a Japanese tea ceremony are present.
"Huh. Never thought I'd see something like this here," Dennis said, picking up the tea bowl from amongst the pottery on the shelf. "We should probably look for a door or chest or something. 'Inverted ziggurat' probably means this terraced aquarium here." Dennis nodded at his skeleton before beginning to search the room himself. The skeleton moved to the door, ensuring it would remain open.

"You guys just can't appreciate the beauty of a good bloodbath. And I don't need more than 5 minutes."
Dennis grimaced at Yuno's comment. "Bloodbath or not, I'm not going down there if we're breaking. I'd prefer to not wallow in manticore droppings and sea lion guts. Though I would like it if you brought Mathers' body up."
Yuno whines, "Alright fine."
Yuno attempts to climb back up to join with the rest of the group. She will also try to bring Mathers' body with her.
The 5 minutes pass uneventfully. You gain the benefits of a short rest and are ready to continue adventuring.
Short rest benefit: Healing with hit die. Using 2 Rogue hit die first: 5 + 5
Further Healing: One Fighter Hit die: 7
Another Fighter Hit die: 9
Finally at the end of Short Rest: use up Second Wind to heal more: 10
Yuno spends the short rest licking her wounds.
Spending another Fighter Hit die (Before short rest is over): 6

Total Die used: 2 Rogue hit die; 3 Fighter Hit die.
