Tall, broad featured, and heavy set as most orcs tend to be Læknishendr is set apart by his filed down and well maintained tusks. He can typically be found wearing the worn, but well oiled and well maintained leathers of a combat medic issued to him during his military service. He carries a mace strapped to his belt and a blackened quarterstaff in his right hand. On sighting Laeknishendr, one can immediately see the marks of battle upon his weary looking face - but, not quite see that he is missing the top half of his left ear, thanks to the hood he wears to cover his head. When his service finished, Laeknishendr left life as a soldier and joined a monster hunting party to fill their requirement for a medic. His party was successful in hunting down monsters along the sword coast, until they were dispatched from Waterdeep to Barovia to fulfill a mysterious contract. When the party finally confronted the beast from their orders, they were all slaughtered save Laeknishendr, who desperately tried to heal his fallen friends and comrades to no avail. This had a profound effect on Laeknishendr and he wandered Barovia in search of a way to bring back his dead friends. On the brink of desperation, Laeknishendr sought to end his life and join his fallen comrades, but just as he was about to take his own life, the medic received a sign in the form of a raven which flew overhead and dropped a silver torque into his lap. Laeknishendr took up the torque and inspected it, finding it was in the form of two intertwined snakes with wings. The raven squawked and spoke to Laeknishendr! Telling him "awwk...don't despair...awwkk...great power...awwkk....awwwk", before flying away. Then, Lakenishender heard a voice in the back of his mind telling him... "take up my mantle.. find the new party who seeks the beast...aid them in my name, with powers bestowed by me..." A tear came to Lakenishender's eye as he began to take hope that he could actually gain power enough one day to bring back his dead friends, or at the very least slay the beast who left him to carry this great burden!

Each of you have made your way to the town of Daggerford near the Sword Coast through various means answering a summons.
Duchess Morwen of Daggerford is having guests for dinner--and you are each invited. No strangers to Daggerford, each of you has come to the defense of the town at some time or another, most of you on more than one occasion, and you count Lady Morwen as a friend and a benefactor.
A cool autumn breeze blows through the streets as you make your way to the keep. As you dine on hot, spicy soup and tenderly cooked pheasant, you can tell that the Duchess seems more out of sorts than usual. Then a pall comes over the occasion as she voices her concern about a band of wayward travelers camped outside the town's walls. They seemed harmless at first, but Morwen has received reports that they have begun harassing townsfolk and other visitors as they come and go, demanding money and wine, and threatening to put hexes on anyone who doesn't pay up.
Yesterday, the Duchess ordered several guards to scare away the mysterious visitors, but they couldn't get the job done. When the guards returned, they spoke sympathetically about the visitors. It seemed as if the guards had been magically charmed.
Morwen doesn't want an armed conflict, but she aims to send a stern message to the visitors and asks you to deliver it on her behalf. "If they don't leave before dawn," seems says, "I'll burn their wagons to the ground."
Morwen says, "I have hand-picked each of you to help deliver this message and ask that you deliver it immediately following dinner."
As Morwen addresses her guests Laeknishendr crunches through the bones of his remaining portion of succulent peaseant, inwardly thinking to himself that the meal was the most delicious he has experienced in recent memory. As Morwen finishes speaking, Laeknishendr hefts his bowl of spicy soup and drains the remainder in one gulp. Satisfied, he wipes the remaining grease from around his well kept tusks on the linen napkin from his lap, crumples it, and throws it on top of his dish. Laeknishendr scratches his collarbone underneath a large torque made of silver, clears his throat, and addresses Morwen... “Of course I would be happy to assist you Morwen and in light of this generous meal, how could anyone refuse? But, I do not know the rest of these people..I believe introductions are in order.” Scanning the table with hard eyes Laeknishendr states gruffly, “my names Lee-nish-ender, in my native tounge it means “Healing Hands”...but you may call me Lae...and to whom do I owe the pleasure? Mans gotta know who’s got his back...” he concludes.
Indeed, Lee-nish-ender of the healing hands! I'm Zander, and this is my brother Zennas, of house Smoothhands. We will have your back, if you're a friend of Morwen you're a friend of ours. Zander looks back to Morwen. If I may, Mi'lady, not to raise protest to your request, I'll gladly help deliver your message, but a message like that is bound to end in conflict. That being said, I'll not shy away from conflict if it comes, and if need be we'll burn their corpses in their wagons for you. Only despicable folk prey on others for money, I'll lose no sleep over that task.
“Greetings to you of the house Smoothhands... well met and well put...if not a bit harsh...” turning his attention back to Morwen.. “I am no stranger to combat as you know , but I’d prefer to keep things civil until there’s no alternative”.
Bergal don't talk too much for real.... A long time ago there was a war in his village where he lost his parents. He had already realized that he could heal people with his soul and determination but were not the essential elements to help his parents. In this way he seeks getting better and be the best cleric that ever existed and can heal anyone.
Bergal look around the place and see many people happy but he can't feel the same...
he get out the table and go outside to take some air and remeber the old times with his parents....
Well, yes, of course we'd prefer to keep it civil, Lae. I'm just assuming it won't go that way, if past experience with these types is any indication. Hope for the best and be prepared for the worst. Bergal, nice to meet you.
Morwen rings a small bell on the table near her to have the table cleared and dessert served. The staff quickly clear the table and begin serving several bowls of various puddings, several small pies and cakes, along with a choice of hot tea, brandy, or a hot, strong-smelling dark liquid you have never seen before.

They also serve choices of hot teas, brandy, and a hot, dark, strong-smelling liquid you have never seen before with small dishes of both cream and sugar lumps beside it.
Laeknishender pops a whole pie in his mouth and washes it down with a heafty swing of brandy. Licking his fingers, he picks up a mug of the dark liquid and lets the aroma wash over him. “Mmmmm... what delicacy is this Morwen? It’s a shame to spoil it, but I must ask... do you have any more information on this band causing trouble in Daggerford? Who are they, where do they come from? If there’s one thing I learned from my time soldiering it’s to be prepared.”
Morwen laughs. "The delicacy is called caf, or some such. From what I have heard, it is grown near the edge of the jungle on Chult. A group I know has just started importing it, but it is still quite exotic." (Read "rare" or "expensive") "As to the travelers, we know not much more than I have already told. There are around a dozen of them, a handful of wagons and the horses to pull them. Whether they are capable of acting on their threats to hex people, we do not know, although the last guards I sent seemed to be acting a bit strangely upon their return."
“Hmmmm...” Lae muses as he stares into his cup, swirling the brown liquid.. “Strange you say... strange how? Could it be they’ve just been drinking this caf stuff.. it’s warming my blood... I feel as if I have more energy... Does anyone else feel it? Or am I just feeling the effects of the brandy?” he chuckles to himself.
