(As for food and water. You each have 5 days rations, but you haven’t eaten today yet; and a waterskin to hold water, which would be two thirds full by now.)
You leave the ruined tower with the female human. She motions for the half-orc to follow as you pass her. You lead them to the illusion covered entrance to the tunnels. Where, following your instructions, the human female attempts to cross the illusion. 3
The half-orc passes through without a problem. The female human turns towards the party, “Thank you.” Then she looks to the river. “You’ll need to cross the river then follow the coast. By the looks of it, half a day is already gone, so you better hurry if you wanna make it to Shallowrest before dark.”
You can see there is a bridge over the river but it’s next to the city walls. You can’t see any other bridge crossing it. You could swim across. There are boats slowly passing along the river with about 65ft of space between them.
Halhace waits for the others to show then the secret entrance they had used to make their way to the tower, taking the two gold and quickly stowing it. He listens to what they are told and sighs. "Guess my vote for going away from the trouble has been irgnored." With a shrug he will go off to the side and mess about with the staff more.

"I can find food and water as well - I think we'll be fine there. I'd think swimming across would give us a better chance of remaining unseen, plus I don't want to get anywhere near the city. Perhaps we can find a spot where there's some cover on either side and we can just swim under the surface to the other side.
edit: lousy roll but:
Feature: Wanderer
You have an excellent memory for maps and geography, and you can always recall the general layout of terrain, settlements, and other features around you. In addition, you can find food and fresh water for yourself and up to five other people each day, provided that the land offers berries, small game, water, and so forth.
"Not ignored friend Halhace. Heard. Just because we voted in opposition to you does not mean we ignored you. Weather we went away from or to trouble, we still need to travel. We can't stay here. Meep, Dhara, and I chose Shallow Rest, Kamos abstained, and you chose anywhere else. You were heard, had an equal say, and were outvoted. That means something. And if you can't live with our vote you are free to go, with your new staff an no I'll will. We will be sad to see it, but I am sure some of us will stop you. If you choose to stay, we are going to Shallow Rest and grumbling about it now won't help you. I am sure you have had a difficult time and suffered prejudice based on your heritage. I have no idea what you have been through. But dust that chip off your shoulder while you are with us, eh. You are among friends and equals here."
"Yes because it would a much smarter decision to go off on my own in a place where I am being hunted for escaping slavery. Even if I think younare all follish for the choice I would be proven the bigger one to go it alone. Now let us focus on the task at hand and hope that we can be on our way before much longer." Halhace says even as he never looks up from the staff in his hands.

(Dhara, while you can’t be sure exactly which way you would have to go to get back home, you do know that Erden, and the federation of the 5 cities, are located on the eastern shore of the continent. With a vast mountain range to the south, a desert to the west, a smaller mountain range and a thick giant forest to south-west.)
The river bank is rocky and slopes quite a bit above the water level. There are trees and shrubs every so often but far apart. The river isn’t very wide so it wouldn’t take you long to swim across and as long as you time it right, the boats won’t notice you. There are the two towers on either side of the river, but nothing is connecting them. And while you can’t see any, the river has to have other bridges, you just don’t know how far the next one is.
You don’t know about any other fresh water source nearby. The land seems quite dry away from the river.
Meep looks to see how deep the river might be from a safe distance, then starts walking near to shrubs and trees. "Not real. Meep walk through." Hoping to find another illusion, but just getting dirty and tangled up each time
Kamos: (to the party) "If you need me to punch something, thats about all i can do."

She struggles with the concept of passing through the ground, so she steps to the side and lets the half-orc try.

Is there any water here other than the river, and are there any mountains visible?
Can we find a safe(ish) place to cross the river without drawing attention?

(Dhara, roll perception for mountains.)

The river is about 5 kobolds deep.
(15ft)
(That's an amazing answer 🤣)
Perception: 6
If it seems easy enough I'd suggest we cross the river somewhere away from the towers and head towards the town as directly as possible.

(Dhara, you don’t see any mountains at the moment)
(Is the river pretty wide?)
(just over 15ft wide, but it's shallower on the edges)
