Friendly reminder... if you have any hesitations or issues about the campaign, don't hesitate to bring them up.
Also, I still haven't heard anything from Tozer or Bold. With this surface group in your way, it could be a convenient opportunity to introduce some new players to the campaign. I can look for two more. If Tozer and Bold don't come back, we'd be back to 4. If they do come back, we'd be up to 6, which is my limit.
We could continue with 2 players for now, if you suspect Tozer and Bold are returning soon. But having 3 or 4 is more fun for the different playing styles. And I agree that juggling more than 6 players would be a headache.

Beegred Thornpost - Lvl 8 Halfling Ranger - Out of the Abyss by Kerrec Drusk - Lvl 8 Half-Orc Life Cleric - The Long Road: Dragon Heist by Mingofaust (player & current DM) Hunferho Aelorothi - Lvl 5 Half-Elf Bard/Rogue - Baldur's Gate: Descent Into Avernus (by Pokepaladdy) DM - Frontier City of Nunkreet (ended)
I don't have any issues with the campaign, just been really busy and semi-waiting for the other two to come back. And debating how bets to handle the other group.

I was slow playing as well, for the same reasons.
Beegred will take action to get things started. (I just need to find the right inspirational speech, so he might get DM Inspiration for the moment.) If Kerrec decides to recruit, then I should delay. If Kerrec decides not to recruit, then I'll post an action tomorrow or Thursday.

Given the cast of NPC's (and there are more you could potentially recruit), I'm hesitant to introduce more people. The issue Tozer and Bold were dealing with was very serious and I have no reason to think they didn't intend to come back... but it has been a bit longer than I expected. I also don't want their absence to cause the two of you to lose interest and bail, so it's a difficult choice for me.
I will let you play this encounter out as I run Tozer and Xilyrah. If they are not back by end of next week, I will recruit. Tozer and Xilyrah will be run by me for a bit longer, at which point they will become Valthana class NPC's that I will try to shed from the group at the first opportune moment.
Like VanderLegion, I'm involved with enough other campaigns that I don't plan on disappearing from this one, even if things temporarily slow down.

I'd like Beegred to ask for DM Inspiration for post 1263 of the main thread: "I’ll never forget the crushing defeat my company suffered or the enemies who dealt it."

No problem. I figure Beegred told his group to wait until he draws the first volley of enemy arrows. And now everyone is standing around because the bandit archers haven't shot yet.

I'm going to recruit a couple more players. This 'human' group of bandits is a perfect opportunity to introduce some newcomers. As hopeful as I am that Tozer and Bold will come back, I don't think it should have taken this long to deal with their circumstance and return, if they intend to return.
No main thread posts today while I sort out this recruiting stuff. Here is your chance to veto or recommend any of the applicants based on any prior experiences you've had with any of them:
Swiftgale: Member for over a year. Near 400 total posts. He DM's a Storm King's Thunder campaign. Applying with a Swashbuckler rogue.
ArgentTheWise: Member for over 2 years. Over 6000 total posts. He's in two other PBP campains and DM's too. Applying with a Dragonborn figther.
YoFizz: Member for over 2 years. Near 700 total posts. Seems to be playing a couple PBP campaigns. Applying with a Dex Battlemaster figther.
Persuasion: Member for 8 months. 1270 posts. Plays in a couple PBP campaigns. Hasn't proposed a character yet.
WebGambit: Member for nearly 2 years. 290 posts. DM's a Waterdeep campaign. Proposing an Aasimar Paladin or Goblin Bard.
Winenose: Member for over 2 years. Near 1000 posts. Plays in a couple PBP campaigns. Proposing to play a deep gnome (rock) wizard.
Orileo: Member for over a year. Over 3000 posts. Plays in a couple PBP campaigns. Proposing to play a Paladin or a Bard.
MelGonVyn: Member for 8 months. 64 total posts. Plays in a couple PBP campaigns. Proposed a character that I rejected due to the OotA storyline. Offered to make another.
jheiner227: Member for a month. No posts. This would be his first PBP game. Hasn't proposed a character yet, but lots of back and forth with plenty of questions.
So what do you all have to say about those applicants?
I haven't gamed with any of them, so I don't have an educated opinion. They all sound like they could be interesting. Since none of them are suggesting rangers or clerics, that will help with party-class balance.

Can't recall if I've been in a normal campaign with orileo or not, but have interacted with him in the coliseum. Persuasion and I were in a one-shot campaign together. Woulnd't have any issues with having either of them come in (depending on character I guess for persuasion).
Winenose could be a good addition since we don't have any real spellcasters now. And maybe someone for melee, fighter or rogue or something?

I'm fine with your suggestion.

Inspiration granted. No one in your group will understand what you mean or why you said it, but those are nice hooks for future conversations.
Sounds good to me
Giving a chance for Narstin to have his 'turn' before I respond to Beegred's latest socializing.

Lol, this encounter is entertaining.
is this where we get into this kind of territory?
Jimjar and Derendil can take turns, then I'll play Tozer.
Note: you can play the NPC's that are assigned to Tozer and Xilyrah until they return.
Sorry guys, didn't think to let you know today is a holiday in Canada. Been a busy day. I will return to posting tomorrow, promise.
No worries :)
