Well...Skameros' flaw is Violence is my answer to almost any challenge - so I'm down for going on a hunt especially since the Shroom-men have been kind to him.
also I am fond of this bit of their description.... "At their core, bugbears are ambush predators accustomed to long periods of inactivity broken by short bursts of murderous energy. Ferocious though they may be, bugbears aren’t built for extended periods of exertion."
Sounds like Narstin wants to check out the Garden before we join the myconid hunters in dealing with the Grick and the Mound.
If there is not an alternate plan, I'd say that 3 members try to go into the Garden to look around, half an hour tops:
Beegred - Stealth +5, Perception +3 ; invisible to Darkvision if he stays in the darker areas ; in a crunch, can use Disguise Self to look more like a myconid youngster
Have Rodolo, Narstin, Jimjar, and Derendil wait in a secluded spot outside the Garden. If there are guards near the Garden, these 4 should provide a distraction (without endangering themselves). After the first 3 return, a decision can be made to do something else in the Garden, or go monster hunting.
In theory, Rodolfo could try to find a good vantage point inside the Garden, and use Rope Trick to hide. But he may need that 2nd level slot later.

I don't necessarily think we have to do the garden before we join the hunters, that was if we *didn't* decide to help the hunters, we coud check out the garden before simply leaving so we'd at least be doing *something* to try to help. If we're helping the hunters, we can always check the garden later (assuming we're doing the hunt 'today' and can look at the garden tonight before the ceremony the next day). Don't mind doing it first either, just that narstin simply wants to help in some way as opposed to simply leaving.
Those myconid hunters need to help. They are familiar with the lands, and the prey. Still prefer the monster to be lured into an ambush (like chumming the waters on "Jaws"), rather than risk the party getting surprised while walking into the unknown.

I'm home watching the kids the week and today I had an internet outage. Hopefully tomorrow it gets fixed. I can update the status with my phone if it comes to that.
In the meantime, please make a case for using any particular skill check to lower the DC to find your target (refer to this post). I'm going to assume the Shambling mound is preferable to the Grick Alpha?
Yes, start with the S. Mound, and we'll see how bad it gets.
Narstin and Eldath would do the Survival checks (+5).
Hopefully the myconid hunters would give them Advantage by Help-ing out. For instance:
The Grick is going to have a lair where it likes to hunt (until food runs out), so the hunters should know a rough area where attacks have been happening.
The Mound will want water, animal/vegetable refuse, and it wanders about slowly. The hunters should have a trail where organic material has been "vacuumed" up, which would give us a clue where it has been.
For reducing the DC with other skills... let's try this:
Beegred helps with the Grick, using Perception (+5) and Investigation (+3) to identify holes and passages that a predator of that size would use as a lair to spring upon prey. The double proficiency on those skills is due to the Underdark being his favored terrain (he knows how stalactites can shadow hiding spots).
Rodolfo helps with the Mound, using Nature (+3) and Insight (+3) to anticipate what direction a heap of mindless vegetation might wander to next, theoretically, like towards deeper water, or heavier fungus concentrations.

Rodolfo might also help by drawing a rough map of the area as they go so that they both not circle back unnecessarily and can cover some spots that they otherwise might not.
I guess that would be a straight intelligence check? Anyways, I'll do a d20 roll and stuff can be added later based on which skill or stat the DM deems if falls under.

I've got nothing.....I can't come up with a way any of my skills could help reduce the skill check - sorry.
When convenient, Eldeth should probably be transferred from Krizz's "Extras" to Kameros. (Or to Beedgred, since he lost Sarith.)

Waiting on a decision.
Rodolfo would take as many people as possible and go kill the threats. He's all for safety in numbers.
Sounds like kill first, sneak later.

Rolls to reduce Suvival check DC:
Survival check:
Narstin (with help from Beegred who can't get lost): 24
As you approach the Shambling mound, Stealth checks:
vs. Shambling Mound perception: 9 (10 passive)
Edit - add NPC's too:
The Shambling mound is aware of incoming danger as the party is unable to remain quiet enough as they slog through this dense growth.
Initiative (including all NPC's. Tell me now if you don't want any to participate):

For legitimacy. Don't look until after the Shambling Mound battle is over.
