Cora’s mood was better today. A much better mood. She looks at the water and sighs. As if she could see this coming, she volunteered to be bait.
“I’ll do it. I'll be the bait.” she said, and walked to the edge of the water. Slowly. She drew her blades and closed her eyes for a moment, a quick prayer to Hell.
You want me to do your bidding? Eliminate your enemies? Help you with your dirty work? Fine. A deal is a deal, I know this. Just let me live through this and I can continue to the end game. And, make sure Lilly is safe. Do you hear me? You leave her OUT of this. If you won't let me have her, then you don't need to torture her, too.
Just as they were going to back up to a safer distance, an idea came to the vampires mind.
“Oh, wait,” Lilyth spoke up, slightly jogging back up to Cora with a folded piece of paper in hand, leaning in close to the rogue to slip the paper somewhere on her person. “Don’t die.”
With a small smile, she turned and made her way back to the others again and waited to see if the beast would arrive.
((I hope you feel better Xero <3))

"Are you kidding?" Cora smiled, almost snorting in a laugh, "and miss out on more nights like last night? You crazy."
Cora felt Lilly slip a piece of paper in her back pocket, told herself to read it once this chore was done. As Lilly walked away, Cora's eyes followed her beautiful form a moment longer, then turned to the lake. With her blade, she poked the water to make it splash, and readied herself for Hells knows what would come crashing out of it.
"Come on." she whispered to herself. "Let's do this."
Anyone else of the opinion that we can't pass up the opportunity to use the rogue's ability to sneak attack? Also, what ranged weapons/capabilities does everyone have? As we mull over our strategy, take into consideration that Zolin's AC is 17 (base 10 + 3 dex + 2 con + 2 shield) and has 45 hp.
Zolin studies the high ground and considers which members of the group are best suited for ranged attacks. Although his knowledge of Cora is limited, the barbarian believes she'll be even more lethal if she can strike the beast while unseen.
"Cora, I wonder if your blades would be even deadlier if I were the one to bait this beast...while you slip in undetected. The others can fire away from the high ground."
Sheshka whispers to Zolin in a hushed, but annoyed voice "More noise will spoil the surprise..." The Hunter holds up a finger to her lips. With that, Sheshka hunkers down in the foilage, ax drawn and ready! Once this big beasty shows itself, she'll leap into action!
(You have the right idea, however I get sneak attack as well when an ally is adjacent to our enemy. If you bumrush to me once I lure it, it’ll be eaaasssyyyy money.)
I ready the DODGE action if it emerges from the water and attacks me.
Zolin eyes Sheshka as she walks away and conceals herself nearby. "Lack of planning may make for a nastier surprise," he grumbles under his breath.
Cora's silence and continued focus on the surface of the water tells Zolin all he needs to know. Looks like we're making things up as we go. So be it.
He scans the ground, looking for a few stones---the larger the better---that he can heave into the pool. He picks one up, makes eye contact with the rest of the Wandering Brutes to make certain they're on the ready, and throws it in a high arc so it will land in the water with as much splash as possible. He then grips his longsword and waits...
Alright Cora as you stand near this body of water, you can hear sound of something moving underwater, accompanied with a large shadow that moves to your direction. Then, shortly, a massive fin begin to sprout from the surface of water. It reaches 5 feet, then higher and higher, until it is 10 feet high a large, feathery, scaly body emerges from under it. Then its neck, then its head, then its reptilian eyes look straight into you, then its uppermaw, then its fangs, then its undermaw, launches right at you!
I need you to make a Wisdom saving throw against 10. On failure, you start the battle frightened!
Snapping Sailback's initiative 0 (*laughs* you slow croc! All of you can take your turns!)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Initiative for Zolin (if needed):8
Zolin tracks the fin as it slices through the water, coming closer to where Cora stands. As he has done countless times upon entering into battle on behalf of the Sun Empire, the barbarian forces himself into that familiar battle rage. The sounds and scenery that lie outside his immediate focus--the great beast--become almost non-existent. As soon as the beast is within range, Zolin charges forward, shield in one hand and longsword in the other. Hoping to wound the beast in the neck, he makes his attack...
Longsword attack:9 | Slashing damage, if successful:12
AC 17 | HP 45 | Currently resistant (while in a rage) to bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage
In a quick moment, Zolin engulf himself in battlerage and charges in before anyone else including the Sailback can react. He swing his sword, but it merely grazes its body! The beast seem to barely notices it
Cora saw the beast emerge. She had seen bigger things in Hell, and stood her ground. She saw the monstrosity rear up and watched Zolin attack, missing. She used his attack to her advantage, slipping to the side and bringing her blades down.

Lilyth, with her weapon and shield in hand, dashes towards the beast and gives it a good whack with her mace! (Or attempts to!)
Attack: 5 Damage: 3
With her bonus action, she casts Spiritual Weapon, the translucent blob slowly forms into an even BIGGER mace that brings down the pain on that dinosaur (hopefully).

Cora manages to overcome the dread of being face to face with this enormous beast, and seeing an opportunity that Zolin opens, she immediately follows up with a couple of deep strikes that hits the creature where it hurts the most. At the same time, Lilynth conjures a spectral weapon, and batter the beast with another two attack almost in the same time. The beast screams, and directs its anger to Cora, who deal the most damage.
(oh also I think your Spirit Weapon damage also benefit from Wisdom mod?)
((Ooc: you are correct! My bean brain glossed over that +3 lol so make that 2 a 5 lol thank you!))
”You can take it.” Lilyth winks at Cora.

OOC: Sorry for the radio silence yesterday. I was incredibly sick and out of it. So I'm playing catch up today!

Alright this is the situation you are in: (Blue is water body and green is an elevated terrain with defensive trees)
So Cora, how'd you like to bait this thing?
By praying to Hell and stepping two feet into the water, not letting anyone see i’m sweating coconuts.
