Wraith guffaws & chokes on his stew as he pictures using Quavari as some type of sledding contraption with he & Phen standing atop his back as he propels himself by his arms down a steep snow-covered slope. He wisely keeps this image to himself & meekly states, "Aye." in response.
"Brother Boragul did stand on guard for many hours yesterday. His being ill would not be unrealistic." Feldri stepped out into the swamp. "Come, Brothers Tusk and Quinn. We must begin searching for the enemy. Keep yourself hidden, and keep your eyes open."
"Eh I got caught for a stealing a couple of things from the military stores and they said as long as im a good bot in the military for a whiles they wont arrest me and the sorts."
"Funny thing, that's how I ended up here. It was more along the choice of which hand did I want to keep & which hand did I want lose. When I inquired on another option that allowed me to keep both hands, I was asked how I felt about military service. I quickly replied that soldiers would probably need to keep both their hands. So here I am."
"ya guys in my area we sort of had a game of what I could steal but the military folks got a wee bit mad. Still don't mind it much, better than nothing, plus I get to keep my equipment afterwards."

Phen shakes his head at the unfortunate life these two have led. "I was born for war. It's just what my family has always been good at. But with all of the warfare, there has been a lot of death and sorrow. That's why I have vowed my life to the protection of my allies." He looks at his two companions, and gives them a nod.
The three of you are surprised by a yell from outside. "Orcs!" The terrified sentinel screams, " Orkkkkkk-" The voice trails off into a wet gurgling. Perhaps that snowstorm was not merely a snowstorm after all.
"Well I appreciate that, Phen. I'm sure we'll make a great team.", Wraith says. "My strengths lie in the stealth & subterfuge that served me well in my youth on the streets. I also dabble in a bit of swordplay thanks to my training in the army."
Feldri leads the trek into the swamp, his keen lizardfolk senses missing nothing. After about ten minutes of searching, he finds a pair of tracks in a patch of mud just east of the military encampment. They continue east for several minutes, until you lose the trail at the edge of a meadow submerged in three feet of icy water. The mangrove trees press in on all sides, and you hear a disturbing sucking sound coming from the water. You are going to have to go through it.
Phen's blood goes cold as the adrenaline flows through his body. "Selune, protect us!"He grabs his shield and triton, "Sqaud, I will lead the way. Stick close. We are under attack!"
K'Dar stoically stood over the remains as the others shifted, or made their comments, his eyes closed to burn the last image of the man in mind. "There isn't much time left. If though lizards had an ounce of intelligence, they made sure to have one hang back and observe."He steps up to the mess of a body, and kneeled to sift through the remains of the man. It was disgusting, and to some disturbing work. But if after he produced a wedding band, or necklace... maybe even the man's favorite pan flute miraculously saved, he cleans it off as best he could.
"Here. Hold on to this, and see to it that it gets back to her."He spoke to the soldier that mentioned a wife. He turns to the others and says after, "We can't afford to burn him at this time. It'd be a signal to invite more notice. A shallow grave will have to do for now. And if there's time on the way back, then-... will speak of it then." WIth no more to say at that, K'Dar leads the effort in seeing to Elias Pickle before once more taking point at the head of the procession.
