Land3:Yet more portals... quite a few of them! But this time, Mufasa heard that this place dealt with a negator due to the number of gates in this place.
Land4: Now this was something! But the problem was that it was WELL fortified, and thus, almost impossible to take on. it had a training camp, and was clear a prime dungeon that forces were trying to secure. But at least it was a training place.
But the mercenaries warned Mufasa that the elementals had orders to kill any Cerudanian like him without negotiating. They didn't know why, but that made Mufasa quite suspicious of what was conspiring, and it wouldn't take much to check those lores.

Water Form. The elemental can enter a hostile creature's space and stop there. It can move through a space as narrow as 1 inch wide without squeezing.
Freeze. If the elemental takes cold damage, it partially freezes; its speed is reduced by 20 feet until the end of its next turn.
Actions
Multiattack. The elemental makes two slam attacks.
Slam.Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 13 (2d8 + 4) bludgeoning damage.
Whelm (Recharge 4–6). Each creature in the elemental's space must make a DC 15 Strength saving throw. On a failure, a target takes 13 (2d8 + 4) bludgeoning damage. If it is Large or smaller, it is also grappled (escape DC 14). Until this grapple ends, the target is restrained and unable to breathe unless it can breathe water. If the saving throw is successful, the target is pushed out of the elemental's space.
The elemental can grapple one Large creature or up to two Medium or smaller creatures at one time. At the start of each of the elemental's turns, each target grappled by it takes 13 (2d8 + 4) bludgeoning damage. A creature within 5 feet of the elemental can pull a creature or object out of it by taking an action to make a DC 14 Strength and succeeding.
The water elemental looked at Mufasa with blank eyes. "You have shown respect to the mercenaries, and I'm of that caliber too. But why continue your ventures, as it's greed?"
Mufasa knew how this trial worked. He had to prove he was good. "Does the darkness really matter? Your probing me for my alignment, but I'm not into slavery at all. And yet, I believe in liberty."
The water elemental was impressed with this statement. "So... you are good. Very well, but the price for my alliance is something quite major. Tame a Kraken. I don't care how long, but I know you can eventually do it given the right levels. Or you can try to tame a Leviathan instead. The reason is simple. Since the wind and earth elementals will turn against me, I will badly need that kind of defense to sustain our people. Besides, water reveres the most life. Protect us, and agree to these terms, we will join you. Is it agreed?"
Mufasa bowed. "It's agreed. But if I have a say, I'd try to make all the elementals submit. I know already that your the balancer, though. But what of the treasures here?"
The water elemental smiled. "Bring us items, and we will enhance them. Further, you may rest freely here and drink of this place. As you level, keep in mind that this place will advance with you now. But on lv1, we cannot offer much."
The water spirit gave him 5 potions of healing and restored him then. "Now, feel free to heal at this place. We can also remedy poison. We will scale your items based on your level, and grant you enchants on them, but you must still forge equips.
Here's 5 minor healing potions for now. Good luck on your quests. Also, the two places will let you enter now. We control them. But for now, your only ready for the training camp."
With that, Mufasa ventured back to the training place, glad he could finally level up.

Mufasa bowed before the sentinels there, who had been informed by some water spirits already. "Good job." Said the basic vanguards. As Mufasa approached the place, a recruit there had a few armaments he was going to use to help test the Cerudanian. "So... you want to train here? Let's see if your ready. Try to focus on me, ok?"
Mufasa found it very difficult to focus on the trainer. But he barely did so. This was due to the power of water. But it impressed the trainer. "Good job, your able to level up. Now that focus element is the key to the ways of the paladin, but your lawful alignment is the most important factor, but you knew that. The big reason for this conjecture is faith, which a paladin is big on. So, your kinship to water was to be expected."
With that, Mufasa was lv2. But the trainer had a curve to that. "Now, it will take a bit more to gain lv3, but you already have a good start on it. Come when your ready, and good luck."
With this, the elemental wars were on. Would it amount to anything?

Mufasa noticed a fire elemental area, and they looked angry, annoyed at the antics of the water elementals. But they had a rune in their lair. This looked like an opportunity. If Mufasa could unlock this rune, his magics would grow. He needed that... So, this was a great opportunity.

Mufasa noticed some mercenaries there looking at this lair, considering battling it, but hesitated. "Look at this place. Our sworn element right here. It would be a boon to our sorcerers, but it's guarded by Dretches."
Multiattack. The dretch makes two attacks: one with its bite and one with its claws.
Bite.Melee Weapon Attack: +2 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 3 (1d6) piercing damage.
Claws.Melee Weapon Attack: +2 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 5 (2d4) slashing damage.
Fetid Cloud (1/Day). A 10-foot radius of disgusting green gas extends out from the dretch. The gas spreads around corners, and its area is lightly obscured. It lasts for 1 minute or until a strong wind disperses it. Any creature that starts its turn in that area must succeed on a DC 11 Constitution saving throw or be poisoned until the start of its next turn. While poisoned in this way, the target can take either an action or a bonus action on its turn, not both, and can't take reactions.
Mufasa felt moderately confident he could take these forces on. There was just 5 of them, and 3 mercenaries present. It seemed quite doable, albeit tricky. But it was potentially risky. Mufasa said: "I'm a naturalist Cerudanian. Poison and disease mean little to me."

Elminar, emerged from the goblin tunnels into bright daylight. Shielding his eyes from the glare of the sun off the lake in front of him, he cursed the goblins for having such a beautiful sight from their lair. Having stuck to the shadows, blasted, and ran his way out of the depths battered and bruised; he was not that eager to try to clear them out. "I need to put some distance between us, just in case they decide to pursue me. Looking east he sees a large mountain range peaking over the tops of the trees. "Mountains may be too hard to traverse, and who knows what lives up there. I'd better follow the shoreline for now.

As he followed the shoreline, Elminar noticed a shift in the air. Even though it was the middle of the day, the sky seemed to darken. Recognizing that he must have entered some demons lair, Elminar quickened his pace. The feeling of something lurking just out of his sight followed him, he knew he was being watched, but by what? Cresting a small rise in the the ground a Elminar sees a somewhat familiar sight. An arcane rune is carved into a large stone obelisk. Trying to remember his studies on what the purpose of this rune may be (Arcana 21).

You notice an abyssal lair in the distance, and sense a rune that you can use there with each level. That would mean a powerful dark magic you cannot normally have.

As Elminar fingers trace over the intricate design of the rune a voice sounds in his head, "yes, free me mortal!" From the obelisk a dark incorporeal clawed hand reaches for his own. Elminar falls back as a large being, seemingly made of shadow itself pulls its upper torso from the obelisk. "Come here and free me! And I will grant you the power that drew you here." Elminar responds in solarian, "You will not harm me?"
"Too long have I been stuck here by those pesky elementals, I need to return to the abyss to reform myself. In my current state, you might even be able to wound me. I cannot take the risk of becoming nothingness"
"I do not normally make a habit of dealing with demons, but I will take what I can get." Elminar steps up to the obelisk and quickly retraces the rune, absorbing the the power from it. With a thunderous crack, the obelisk splits, cleaved from top to bottom. The shadow demon laughs, "Free, haha, foolish mortal, I'll be back for your blood when I reform" and it dissipates like smoke in the wind. As the effects of the rune wear off the the surrounding area, daylight returns and begins to warm Elminar skin. "No time to stop now," Elminar says as he sets off.

A great chapel of wind! beat the wind elementals here, and the gates to other regions will open! Probably very difficult. (challenge rating: 8) Definitely an ill omen. Wind is most associated with the gates, so this would definitely attract some undue attention from the elemental forces.

Elminar followed the shoreline until he saw a great temple in the distance. With hope in his heart for the first time in days he hurried towards it. As he got closer more and more details stood out to him. The temple was built at the edge of the lake, spanning over where the lake flowed out into a large waterfall. And then he saw the wind elementals. Of course the temple was in their control, he was a fool to think otherwise. "One day I'll be back. I'll restore that temple to its rightful place, and open the gates wide. But that is not today." Sticking to the trees to avoid being seen, Elminar worked his way down to the base of the waterfall. Looking up, Elminar got one last view at the great temple far above him before he set off yet again. Talking to himself, "I cannot do this alone, I need to find people. If it keeps going on like this, talking to myself like this, either I'll go insane or I'll make such a habit of it people will think I'm insane."
