Launching arrow after arrow at the Hobgoblins I remember how calculated their attacks in the tunnels were and remind myself not to get complacent with our quick dispatching of the last group. After firing the second arrow I take a quick look around to make sure there's not another group and then draw my sword and charge in! "You furballs will not take me down this time! To hell with you, you evil bastards!"
Out of character: Doing the 4 rounds we normally do, shoot, advance to cover if available, shoot again sling bow quickdraw shield / longsword while charging for the last next turns. Leading the Charge stance w/ Battle Leader's Charge followed up by Stone Bones & Iron Guard's Glare stance on the biggest threat remaining, especially to Vicki or anyone seriously wounded.
Thalica tumbles as the horse collapses but is able to rll and come up on to her feet She draws her bow as she tumbles and fire once she is on her feet at the Hobgoblins who seem to be going towards her as they see she is a elf. She hits the lead one for 5 damage slowing him a bit. Grant misses with his attack Jason quickly joins in next to Thalica hitting the lead Hobgoblin for another 12 damage killing him. The Hobgoblins attack Jason as he looks very elven to them to as they try to get to him and Thalica. Jason is hit twice for 14 damage as Thalica is missed. One in the back swings at Ghost but misses. Travis casts a spell as he attempts to hide behind a tree and a giant centipede enters the fray attacking the nearest Hobgoblin. It hits for 3 damage. Rachel hits the hobgoblin by her for 4 damage. Jonathan shoots with his bow striking a hobgoblin for 6 damage. Vickie is able to hit one with a ray for 1 damage. Ghost hits the one by him for another 6 damage but fails to trip him. The other two teens shoot one injuring it.
Next round Thalica misses with her shot and then switches to her sword as they gather around her and Jason. Grant is able to hit one for 5 damage. Jason misses with his next attack. The hobgoblins attack Jason and Thalica hitting Jason once for 4 damage and Thalica once for 6 damage. The one by Ghost hits Rachel for 5 damage. The one on the Centipede hits it for 7 damage. The Centipede misses its next attack as Travis keeps trying to hide. Rachel misses in her attack as does Jonathan and Vickie. Ghost bites the one by him as he trips it up but the bite kills the Hobgoblin.
Next round Thalica misses again. Grant misses as well as does Jason. The Hobgoblins continue to attack as you see one standing off to the side talking to a rock. They miss Thalica and Jason this round but hit the Centipede for 6 damage. Rachel turns and hits one for 8 damage as the centipede misses again. Jonathan jumps and slices into one for 26 damage killing it. Vickie misses again. Ghost misses too as does the elf teens.
Next round Thalica misses again. Grant hits one for 15 damage killing it as it was wounded by the elf teens. Jason hits one by him for 20 damage as it falls to the ground The three Hobgoblins each attack Jason and Thalica. She is hit for 5 damage Jason is missed. Travis misses as does the Centipede Rachel misses as Jonathan hits one for 12 damage. Vickie hits one for 2 damage. Ghost and the teens miss.
Three left standing besides to one off the the side. I will need more attack/damage or actions from all.
I grunt in pain as I'm struck again . I cry out as I see the one off to the side apparently asking for help with the stone. " Hurry Ghost. Let's stop him. " Directing Ghost we charge full tilt at the one with the rock striking and biting. Once he is down we will go after the others.
Seeing the hobgoblin to the side talking into the rock and Rachel headed towards him as well. I aim my cold ray at him and let it go. I will then also head that way to assist Rachel and Ghost. Once within bow range will aim and shoot.
Taking a couple of steps back, I use my enhanced speed to rush at another foe, magically leaping into the air and bringing my sword down on his body, hard! Striking out at other enemies nearby, my great sword chops methodically as I cut into their bodies, wounds gaping in my wake.
Move back 10' run 20' and jump to gain DFA attack bonuses. (I'll fill in numbers as results count, adding +2 flanking due to their engagement with Jason and Thalica)
Jump:24
Attack: 22 Damage 22 (inspiration added)
Next normal attacks: 16 Damage 20 (inspiration added)

If these two foes go down, I will then move at full run towards the stone-speaker.160' per round until I reach him. If I can hear his phone call, let me know, as I will be trying to eavesdrop.
“Can you tell me the difference between a witch and a wizard?" "Sure, a wizard is what they call you when they want to hire you, and a witch is what they call you when they're getting ready to run you out of town.” SunWolf replied ― Barbara Hambly, The Witches of Wenshar
Travis also attacks this time with his light crossbow, comes out from hiding, aiming at the remaining 3 Hobgoblins. The centipede is down to 15 hit points, but lasted only 3 rounds of combat, before vanishing.
(I didn't realize you wanted 4 rounds of combat, KN I wouldn't have Travis trying to hide. Will do 4 more rounds combat for him.)

Wishing I could get to Thalica's side, I keep twitching Morgenstern away from those trying to bring me down, and continue firing. When all three of the nearby Targets are down, I will attempt to shoot the one reporting via the stone.
It sounds like the reporting Hobgoblin is within the second range increments for both longbows and great crossbows, so just apply A- to penalty to the appropriate attacks
Jonathan what is the range of your healing when you strike? Rachel and Ghost we're moving away from you going after another hobgoblin so if it is close only then you will not able to heal her.
Thalica strikes one hard for 21 damage killing it. Grant is able hit another one for 22 damage killing it. Jason hits one for 11 damage injuring it. Rachel and Ghost head towards the one with the rock. Travis misses, Jonathan hits the last one by Thalica and Jason with a savage strike doing 13 damage killing it. Vickie misses her attack as the party sees that there is no more attacking. Jonathan needs to decide who gets his healing as Vickie moves to follow Rachel and Ghost towards the one with the rock. As Vickie gets within Cross bow range and Ghost and Rachel get into melee range of this Hobgoblin. Ghost hits for * damage but the hobgoblin stays up from his trip attack. Rachel also hits him for 5 damage. Vickie misses with her attack.
Next round you can hear more coming your way. The one with the rock had enough time to pin point your location. Rachel misses with this round as Ghost misses too. Vickie also misses. I will pause there for everyone to decide their next action.
Hearing another group pulling up, I look for cover and pull out the bow to start the process over again engaging at extreme range if necessary. "Keep an eye out for the ones carrying the rocks and moving away from their groups or this stampede will never end!"
(I've never healed Thalica before, lets give her some platinum dragon loving. I should have 16 arrows left at this point, minus these attacks 14 as I start my maneuver list over again, 2 arrow shots give me time to gain all 5 maneuvers, start off with charge on melee round when they get close enough for that. Love my quick draw feat :) )

Travis, having now discovered that more Hobgoblins are coming, finds cover among the foliage. He gets ready his crossbow, and prepares to attack the approaching Hobgoblins.
When they are within range will fire off four rounds.
To answer some questions for everyone. The incoming hobgoblins coming in are coming from the east and the west. The trees you are in are pretty dense as far as forests go. The fighting is taking place in between trees and you have line of sight for bows at about 100-130 feet before they have cover behind a tree but the same goes for you too. The terrain is hilly with some hills being taller than others and there are areas where it is more rocky than the rest and less trees but not where you are currently. There are some clearings here and there but the last one you really saw was about 1/4 mile south of your current location. You will need to all roll a listen checks to know if only two more groups are coming in or not. Plus spot checks to see if you can locate the ones with rocks.
I'm frustrated as I hear help coming for our enemies . I swing my club with fury at my enemy . I know that we need to end this encounter quickly before we are trapped by superior numbers .
OOC: Once the hobgoblin with stone is down I will join in attack on other enemies with my friends.
You can hear at least two parties coming from the east and west. They are not far away less than a couple minutes. They may be there by the time you kill the last stone holder. But you may be able to get away. I will tell you more as I get more rolls in.
