I speak up for the first time since we have arrived;
" Thank you much; kind sir for speaking with us today and letting us know we can get an audience with a noble soon. As been stated we are at the Dew Drop Inn, we await for news of our next meeting there."
I curtsy as best I can in my armor and when the others head out I follow.
"Calling me sir is sufficient due to my title and all. The one you will meet with next would be addressed as Lord or Duke as that is his station. He is one who is leery of strangers but he is not one to worry about things too bad as he will see a opportunity to gain some favor with the king. One thing you will need to know is that the king is addressed as your highness and you should bow or curtsy before him when you meet with him and await for him to say arise before straightening back up. I will send word to you once the meeting is scheduled with the Duke." Jorel will see you all out and will tell Rachel he looks forward to meeting Caesar.
"Thank you sir, and thank you for being a man of frank honesty, it was a pleasant surprise. I look forward to our next conversation."
On departing I turn to the others, "That went well. All right, can anyone think of anything pressing we need to handle before meeting with the duke? If not, we might as well spend some time enjoying the city. I might try to find out if there's a library worth perusing."
"I definitely want to go with you to the magic-user's area, once the maps are ready, and ask questions. Until then I'd love to check out a library as well, and see what I can absorb. It's should be enlightening in many ways. I'd also like to see about accessing an alchemist - either a lab or a store - and get some tricks and fun stuff made up. I didn't bring a lot of coin since we weren't expecting a shopping trip, but we should send Ariel or Ping with an update. At very high altitude."
"As a different thought, I was speculating if making some unusual magic items, tailored to the recipients, may be a way of greasing palms or helping our chances. I'm sure I could come up with something interesting if I know the target audience."

“Can you tell me the difference between a witch and a wizard?" "Sure, a wizard is what they call you when they want to hire you, and a witch is what they call you when they're getting ready to run you out of town.” SunWolf replied ― Barbara Hambly, The Witches of Wenshar
"Yes, if we send one of the messengers now, we can ask the Lord for an official statement or even an offer of alliance to read to the court. If nothing else, it would be good to clarify what we can state or promise specifically on the Lord's behalf."
I wave at the group. " Time for a vacay. I will get my bodyguard and have a night on the town. If anyone is interested feel free to come along. "
i head back to pick up Caesar by myself or woth others. Afterwards i will walk the city looking for fun things to do. When night arrives i will move closer to the inn and find a good tavern to unwind in.
You all make it back to the inn with little difficulty. As you enter the Inn you can see and hear that many have gathered there in the open room to drink and have fun. There is a small band playing in corner as the serving wenches make their way through the small crowd with drinks or food before returning back to the bar or kitchen.
Travis, also gives a polite nod to Jorel and exits with the others. Returning back to the Dewdrop Inn. He, approaches Grant quietly when he is alone. "Hello, Grant did I hear you mention that you wouldn't mind seeing an Alchemist,"?He says.
"I couldn't locate a shop or lab but I did come across a friendly Herbalist. Although, not having a shopfront as such she sold her wares from inside a dark red colored tepee. Didn't get much visitors that I could see. Your, after a potion or something,"? I could take you to her later if you like,"? He said quietly.
When, arriving back at the Inn Travis went up to the Barkeep. Then, tossed a few coins his way. "I will have a pint of whatever's the most popular ale here please,"He says sitting at a stool in the bar.
Finding a table big enough for their group (for whoever is with me), I sit and order some interesting items after checking prices, curious as to the spices and tastes of this new land, but keeping sober for now. In response to Travis, I answer "Yes, I was hoping to actually make use of the facilities and brew up some of my own alchemical mixes and learn more about the ingredients such careers use. There are some items I've read about back 'home' that would prove useful in combats. I'd definitely like an introduction. Perhaps tomorrow morning? Maybe in the afternoon Jason can take me to that magic door."

The, next day after breakfast at the Inn. Travis, shows Grant the location of this "dark red tepee" in the marketplace. "There, that's the place Grant this was the only place here. That, had someone buying and selling potions. I don't know why it isn't popular here. But, you would have thought there would have been a need to procure potions for various needs," He added.
The evening passes with no issues and the new day is here. It is still a bit early when Travis and Grant head out to visit the market place. The red tepee is not hard to spot and soon they are outside of it. The older woman is stilling at her stall .
That morning, I collaborate with Jason and compose a message for the Lord, imparting it with Ariel and sending him back to the keep. Cautioning him once again to stay high and out of trouble, I tell him that I'll be worrying until he gets back "Just like one of my children, you know, blood of my blood."
At the Teepee, I look at the outside a bit before entering. Stepping in and looking around, I check out the wares being offered, using magic to read the text if needed.Approaching the woman, I introduce myself and say cheerily "I'm looking for instruction, mainly. If you know of someone who can give me details on the various substances and what their properties are, for a fee of course. I'm a bit of a dabbler in the alchemical sciences myself, but I'm completely unfamiliar with what ingredients you have. Perhaps a knowledge swap of some kind, over the next few days?"
OOC - I'm looking to use a lab and make some of the alchemical items for use.

The older woman looks over at grant. "Nothing my dear is for free. If you wish to learn some things it is best to be prepared with some payment. Or you can just use trial and error method."
A message about your current situation is sent back to the keep and the Lord Douglas. It will be a few days before you will hear back from him if anything.
Smiling wider at the woman, I answer "There's payment, and then there's payments. I've knowledge of some recipes that I doubt you've ever seen, and techniques that this world doesn't yet know. I also have some coin, if that's how we have to work, but I'd rather save it for when we meet the King and his court. "I'll then proceed to give some examples of modern titration and chemical reduction methods, distillation techniques, formulas and anything else that interests her (maybe production of strong alcohols?), without going into specifics, to entice her into a bargain. If that doesn't work, sigh and ask what kind of payments to use her lab?

The next few days pass rather uneventfully as you explore the small city and learn of its ways. You soon get notice that your orders at the tailor shop are ready. Two days after that Jason is sent a message from Jorel and from Diane at the mage tower.
When, Grant is finished with seeing the old woman at the red tepee. He, comes and speaks to him privately. "I'm not sure what we will find. But, that old lady mentioned that rare herbs could be found in the marshlands or deep forests. But, she did say it would be dangerous to go out there. But, I guess all that isn't as important as meeting the dignitaries in our tailored suits," He said.
Meanwhile later on in the day Travis picks up his tailored suit from the tailor shop. As he tries it on one last time he looks at himself. "Anyone would think we were going to a wedding here,"he said then thanked the tailors before taking his suit. Then, headed back to the Inn.
I pick up my dresses from Rita quite happily. Thanking her again i return to the inn with my purchases. Once in my room i strip down and try my dresses on starting with my sea foam green one. I pull it on over my shift and then look in the mirror with a critical eye. I like the length of leg that the slit reveals. The cleavage on display stays just on the tasteful side instead of risque. " This will do quite well Caesar. It is nice to be able to wear something a little more revealing than my armor. If men here are anything like the ones back home then a little distraction is always helpful. We need all the edges we can get speaking with the leaders here. "
I sigh upon picking up the new outfit. I'd never liked dressing up, especially in high formal attire. I knew it was necessary in this case, I'd suffered through it for the weddings of family and friends, I could do it again now. I glance over at the beautiful dress Thalica had picked up, maybe it wouldn't be all bad...
On getting the message, I'll look to Grant and say, "Looks like our maps are ready, this would be a good time to pop over. Anyone else wish to come along?"
Studying the lace and filigree on the new duds, I enjoy the feel of the fabric against my oft-abused skin and the style that passes for classy here. Well acquainted with costumes from LARPing days, I am satisfied with the cut and tailoring, and put it away carefully after the final fittings are complete. "I hope it matches with those we meet or it'll be embarrassing. "Paying my bill, I return to the inn. Once the message arrives and Jason mentions it's contents, I say "Sounds good to me. Curious to see what this world's mages do."

I nod, "Sure, I was going to check back in and see if we couldn't glean any more information in the next day or two anyways."
I think mostly we'll be killing time as the wheels of social introductions roll on. I'm happy to montage most of our time in the city.
