Jason as well as Grant head over towards the mage's tower to check on the map. Rachel and the others all pick up their new formal clothes from the tailor shop. Trying them on you will find the fit very nice.
As you tried on your formal wear at the shop you will find it fits very well and that there is even a little bit of room for expansion so while snug in some places there is some give in other places. As you watch the market place you can see that there ore others wearing similar style clothing as the shop. You also notice they have at least one body guard and a couple servants with them.
Approaching the tower, I nod to the door, "Greetings once more, we were invited to come. If you would please allow us entry, I would greatly appreciate it."
Watching the magical door for a response, I'm reminded of the magic mouth spell I can cast, and possible variants that would give a door sentience. Keeping quiet, for the moment, I observe and follow, once it opens for us to proceed.

“Can you tell me the difference between a witch and a wizard?" "Sure, a wizard is what they call you when they want to hire you, and a witch is what they call you when they're getting ready to run you out of town.” SunWolf replied ― Barbara Hambly, The Witches of Wenshar
Unable to help myself, I snicker slightly at the woke oak door, reminded of many games with similar NPCs.

As we pass through the portal, I say "I've seen many doors before, but never have I seen a door of such exceeding intellect acting as a major domo, before."

Once we are both just past the threshold I can't help but comment to Grant, "Poor hearing, incredibly rude, incapable of recognizing repeat guests, and unaware of standing invitations. Yes, this door is clearly defective, I think it would be only be polite to offer to recycle the magical energies from it and put them towards enchanting a guardian that is capable of doing the job correctly. It would only take a few minutes for me to reduce it to a lifeless hunk of wood should it ever insult us again."
I approach the two statues at the stairs, "Please inform Lady Diane of our arrival here , my name is Jason, she's expecting me.
Grinning as Jason comments, I say, making sure the door can't hear us. "I was going to say major dodo, but it might not let us back out. It might have been some apprentices failed attempt that they had to upcycle. If this is their door keeper, I wonder what other issues this place may have with regards to magical tools in place?"

The two statues come to life as you approach them. The Male statue bows and says "I will inform the lady at once", It turns and heads up the stairs. The female statue informs you to have a seat and then heads to the small alcove where it retrieves a tray with two mugs on it and two pitchers. It also has a select variety of cheeses crackers and meat. The female statue places it down upon a small table that is front of the chairs you decide to sit upon.
I have a seat and enjoy a few of the refreshments, "I'm afraid that this Lounge area is all I have seen of the place. Clearly the important parts are above us. Last time I was here I figured it was too early to push, but perhaps this time we will be given a chance to head upstairs."
Sampling the offered refreshments as well, I reply. "I'd love to see what real mages do, in this universe. All I've worked with so far is the few at the Keep, and their forms of magic are very specifically tailored to our situation. Regular day-to-day wizard work would be intriguing to observe and learn from."

The two of you relax there in the sitting/receiving area when you see the Lady Diana comes down the stairs and towards you. She is wearing a light green dress that fits very nicely on her almost to the point of molded to her. As she comes closer you can see she has a rolled up paper in her hands.
I stand and give a short bow as she approaches. "Greetings my lady, my companion today is another of my company, the talented Grant. We had hoped, if time permits, to get a look at the means and methods by which you do your work. We both have our talents in regards to magic, but there are so few professionals we have met to compare notes with."

Seeing and trying on the formal dress attire, I praise the craftsmanship of the garment and give the tailor a tip of a few silver for such a fine job.

The door says "Yeah you say were invited but I do not here any words of admittance from you puny human go back to the city"
I sigh with frustration, so much for the second visit being any easier. I draw out the message that we were given, and read it to the door verbatim.
"Oh you have a fancy letter or note from some person but I did I hear you correctly? You did say Lady Cyan?"
Unable to help myself, I snicker slightly at the woke oak door, reminded of many games with similar NPCs.

"What is so funny newcomer You never seen a door before. Be off with you puny human!"
I enunciate very clearly as I correct the door, "Lady Diane"
"Oh why did not say so from the start stupid human" The door opens.
As we pass through the portal, I say "I've seen many doors before, but never have I seen a door of such exceeding intellect acting as a major domo, before."
