Kixarn says, as the group gets ready to decend "DO you still want a fireball on the bones?" Just a bit more paranoid than normal, Kixarn studies the floor and walls of the bottom as best he can, sending Korvo to hover near the middle (20' off the ground) to also examine the suspiciously quiet bottom. "Why the darkness, if nothing to darken?"

“Can you tell me the difference between a witch and a wizard?" "Sure, a wizard is what they call you when they want to hire you, and a witch is what they call you when they're getting ready to run you out of town.” SunWolf replied ― Barbara Hambly, The Witches of Wenshar
"I think the darkness is a permanent effect," Avan answers. "To be used when it can and ignored when useless. I suggest saving up the fireball charge. Instead, Katarina, you could sense their presence. Perhaps you should go down halfway and check the bones? Then continue if it's safe. Bastion at the same time, right? I can rappel down last, to keep the top safe while jackal is lowered, or transform and fly down in an emergency."
"I can do darkness too, for a short time, If you like." Kixarn replies to Acan "It might help stop enemies from our behind."

Kat nods to Avan. " That makes sense Avan. I am off. " I check to make sure all of my possesions are in order and then grab the rope. I will wait for Bastion if he is going down at the same time. Working quickly i descend into the room. Stopping about 30 feet off the floor i mentally reach out towards the bones below and the room itself.
OOC: She will use sense undead again. 1 use of it remaining today.

I call out, " The bones are safe. I'm continuing on down. " I move quickly and reach the bottom. Drawing my kukris i search the room for any sign of trouble.
Bastion says to Kix, "If you would stay ready to fireball that entry if something moves in there, assuming you have a clean shot that is, I would appreciate it." Then he double checks his rope before looping it over and around his body, using the friction to control his speed while rapidly sliding down to the bottom.
"Easy done." Kix answers, as he moves to get the right angle on the opening.

With a quiet sigh of relief as his feet are not longer dangling over a deadly fall, Kixarn pulls out the borrowed wand again and keeps close watch on the opening. Hearing the cackle, he shivers, his silver hair shimmering in the dim light. He peers through the dark tunnel, ready for threats as the group reforms.

Avan covers his Daylight lit arrow by keeping it in his bag, but holds on to it, ready to fire at a moment's notice. He mounts up on his jackal and begins casting his longer lasting buff spells Greater Magic Fang and Barkskin shared between himself and his mount. "I have no sack to spare and I think we are worrying too much about what may become only a small problem. Someone else can grab my other arrow, with the regular Light if you wish."
Bastion nods in agreement with Avan, "I think if there was going to be a problem, we'd know it by now. If that pile were to spontaneously animate somehow, it could just tear its way out of any bag I have anyways."
"Our main problem is going to be clearing the rooms down here without giving the foe a chance to slip upstairs behind us. We'll have to work together on that. Let's get to that first intersection and see what we can find."
All right, I think we can do something of a human chain to cover areas without truly splitting the group or leaving blank spots. What I suggest to start is that we stop at the intersection at S113. Bastion, Ghanima, Rivoril, and Katharina head south. Ghanima stops at T122 and serves as a lookout at that corner, Kat stops at T132 for the same reason, and Bastion and Riv hurry around the corner to the west to double check the room we found the prisoners in, make sure it remains empty, then head down the passage to the east from there to see what can be found. We keep reorganizing people so that the enemy can never get behind us, and no one is out of sight of others in the group. If at any point in time contact is made, regrouping becomes the immediate priority.
Rivoril, is happy that everyone made it down to the bottom without any mishap****y, the faint distant cackling unsettling him. "That, sounds like a doable plan Bastion. I will come with you back to the room that we first encountered the prisoners in," Rivoril chimes in.
Kat nods at this idea. " I like it. We need to get moving quickly. This place feels like one big trap. " She will advance with the other 3 and follow the plan that Bastion suggested.
Avan nods in agreement, "I am happy to be last in line, as I can ride my jackal faster than any of you can run, and cast some more spells on myself and my jackal as I do so."
You spread out the group as Bastion and Rivoril make sure the room you found the women is still empty. It does not take long to verify that yes it is still empty. The rest are able to see down the side passages and see that they turn up ahead. Making your way down to the next intersection you can see that they connect to each other and there are four doors. What do you wish to do next. The Cackling continues and is still faint.

Bastion motions for several people to move up before he and Rivoril move to check out the rooms.
Kat, Ghanima, Avan, and the jackal all move directly east to take up similar positions along column AB. Bastion and Riv carefully move north, checking on each room along that hall.

Hopefully this does not get too much more complex, we could easily spread ourselves thin trying to cover every corner
Kat assists Bastion with setting up the ropes. " Who all should go in the first group down?"
Shooting arrows into the pile of bones in the corner proves that it is a non moving pile of bones.

You are all able to make it to the floor of the room that had the stairs that collapsed. You do not hear anything except a far off cackle of laughter.
