Gaelin will smile and laugh at the orcs and yell at Valeera, "Back to the east." as he flies into the air on Bronze Claw's back and look back at the orcs and fling another fireball (4th) into the cluster on the eastern side. (trying to hit at least 6 hopefully 7-8). As the fireball erupts and blocks the armies view of him he will use his bonus action to guide Bronze Claw to lean to one side and hunch over to throw up a bit making sure not to hit him. Then he'll have Bronze Claw head east towards his allies seeing them surrounded.
(Aryn, are you low on HP like Zinmaer? **NVM. I looked at your character sheet. You are good!)
Jinara, seeing Zin bloodied and surrounded, will dig deep and cast Fire Bolt (spending 1 sp to Twin spell) and aim for 2 of the berserker surrounding him.
#1 Attack: 14 Damage: 22
#2 Attack: 18 Damage: 24
He will then have DoomTail fly his 80 ft North and face the fray below.
Zinmaer slashes open the throat of two orcs then finishes the last nearby orc with a brutal punch to the nose that caves in the front of the orc’s face. Jinara throws two globules of fire that puncture through the chest of two orcs as Doom Tail descends and tears an orc into pieces. A warhorn sounds to the east and the orcs turn to see another explosion of fire and watch as orcs are blown to charred bits. Emerging through the smoke is a line of flame from the large form of Valeera who barrels towards them. The few remaining orcs feel their impending doom and turn to flee but are cut down by Doom Tail, Aryn, Mucor and Zinamer. Leaving you surrounded by the corpses of your enemies.
To the west the phalanx lines push forward and as the orcs continue to fight Gaelin’s fireball explodes sending a shockwave of hot air across the meadow. As the smoke rises Valeera unleashes another line of fire that consumes 8 more orcs as she flies to the east. The flanks continue their march and finally reach the center and surround the remaining orcs who now battle on all sides. The orcs fight valiantly but all fall as a final concentrated volley of arrows lands in the center piercing through their leather and hide armor.
The battle comes to an end as Gaelin and Valeera reach the others. You look around the battlefield and see over a thousand orc corpses along with hundreds of dead Eshan and Haemor soldiers. Small patches of fire send columns of smoke into the air and the smell of death hangs heavy in the air. Through the smoke you see a small group of cavalry turn and begin to head towards your position in a trot.
(End of combat! Nice work everyone! Those army rolls got lopsided really quickly. You have about a minute before the cavalry reaches you in case you wish to do anything before they arrive.)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Mucor would cast cure wounds28 on himself before once again working himself up into another spore frenzy, he would then use his reaction to summon 5 zombies from the orc corpses nearby and then cast Conjure Woodland Beings as he summons 4 satyrs.
Aryn will search the hobgoblin, mages then as many orcs as possible before they arrive. (They're friendly right? We just help/saved them.) She'll watch them as they approach and her bow out with an arrow notched but not drawn.
Jinara immediately goes over to the orc mage(s) and orc commander and begin searching the body(ies) for anything of significance. As he finishes the orc commander, he would say "Man that was tough. Everyone ok?"
(I can't remember if its perception or investigation, but my bonus is the same so the roll is 18 )
Once finished (it seems like Aryn and I are helping each other lol), and seeing Aryn prepared for anything, Jinara would look over at the griffons and tell them to fly above us 200 ft and monitor the battlefield for anything that would endanger us. He would then swipe his boots together and hoover above Aryn about 15 ft in the air and will ignite his hands in flame (holding Fire Bolt) and await the army's arrival.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Gaelin will land and rush to Zinmaer and Mucor casting Cure wounds (4th x2 from staff) on Zinmaer and 2(1st) Cure wounds on Mucor. He'll message Valeera and say, "Come land and turn into your human form. With clothes for now." :)
While some of the party heal their wounds Jinara and Aryn quickly search through the bodies of the fallen. Valeera transforms into her human form armored in her silvery mithral breastplate and red cloak with gold trim. Mucor summons a group of satyrs who watch tentatively as the cavalry approach waiting for Mucors command.
Jinara- You manage to take off the fist weapons that the hobgoblin had on his hands. On the mages you find a golden ring and 80 gold pieces.
Aryn- you find a small pouch on the hobgolin containing 25 gold pieces, on the mages you find an ornate scroll written in some foreign language and a total of 50 gold from the other bodies.
The cavalry approach and the lead rider holds up his hand in a friendly manner. A stout human male with a salt and pepper mustache greets you warmly in a deep mellow voice. "Hello, and thank you for your aid. I am sir Davos, captain of the 6th battalion. My commander has requested I make contact with you. Might I ask who I have the privilege of meeting?" The man dismounts and walks forward a few paces his hand outstretched and a thankful smile on his face. Looking closer at him you can see the sweat dripping from his head and black blood from orcs staining his armor.
"The Lightbringers" Gaelin responds as he meets the hand of the captain and continues. "I am Gaelin, this is my sister Aryn, Jinara, Zinmaer, Mucor and Valeera." he says pointing to each person as he calls their name. "We have come a long way to try and help the war effort in a few specific areas. What can you tell us about this hobgoblin? Is it Rhazal?"
Mucor would command the undead to finish off any wounded enemies and command the satyrs to help move the wounded. He would then move through the ranks of the dead and wounded, using the last of his spell slots to heal his wounded allies and use mold earth to bury the dead enemies.
Davos looks somewhat puzzled at the name Lightbringers but he seems very genuine, as do the rest of the riders. (They actually are just funny that you rolled a 1 and have no idea) You assume your local fame on Telgun hasn't reached the continent of Zhora yet. He observes closely each of you as Gaelin points you out and cocks his head as Mucor is introduced. The towering Minotaur casually walking around while zombies and satyrs assist him in disposing of the dead and healing the wounded.
"I see. Well met Our scouts indicated they had tracked Rhazal in this area." He says as he nods at Aryn and approaches the hobgoblin body turning the head slightly to see the face. "Yes, that's him. With this cruel bastard gone we might just stand a chance. As brutish as he may look he's actually incredibly cunning. He apparently lured us into a trap, attacking our far larger army 3 days ago before fleeing to this meadow where hundreds more were waiting for us. If you hadn't come along I don't know if we would've been victorious." He examines the nearby bodies and looks over the battlefield. The meadow slopes slightly downhill to the west giving your current location an elevated viewpoint. Davos peers down onto the battlefield for a few moments before turning back to say, "My commander also tasked me with inviting you to debrief at our camp about 2 miles away. If you're willing that is."
(#3274: You fly for nearly an hour and as you approach you see hundreds of bodies coming into battle formations. To the east of the congregation are an assortment of tents, huts and bonfires. )
If so, Aryn would look at the captain and say, "I'm not opposed to this. Food does sound good. I'd like to investigate the orc camp before we depart. I'm sure it will take a few more hours to clear the dead and tend to the wounded. I can return in an hour to aid with transport." she says before hopping on Calypso. "If anyone else wants to come they're welcome to join." she adds as Calypso takes a few steps before leaping into the air and heads in the direction of the camp.
Aryn will fly over a couple times to get a lay of the camp and try to determine which would be the commander's tent/s and would start there. If she finds the commander's tents she'll take 10-15 minutes to search then head to all the other tents.

"Hold on Aryn." Jinara says before he lets a loud whistle. Everyone sees a formation of wondrous griffons breaking through the clouds in a diving pattern towards the group. From the ground, it would appear that these griffons are making a tactical strike against the army below (Ooc: would love to know if this stunt would scare any of the army as the griffons approach lol). The griffons pull out of their dive about 12 ft above the ground, level themselves, and land seamlessly transitioning to a trot and coming to a full stop just behind their respective riders.
"I would love to help you investigate that camp. See you all in a bit."
Jinara would draft Aryn as she circled the camp, knowing she has a clear knack for surveillance. Perception: 9
As they chat about their scouting plan, Aryn would begin with the command tent(s), so Jinara would begin with the other tents (in essence, I want to flip what Aryn did so we cove the same ground twice)
Investigation: All other tents: 13 (If adv for length of time) 3
Command Tent(s): 5
If by chance I see a tent specifically mage related in my search, I would definitely check that out (let me know if I need to roll something special for that if it exists).
Gaelin will watch Aryn and Jinara take off and look back to the captain with a smile on his face. "I'll help you clear the battlefield. Let your commander know we will join you later for the debrief. " Gaelin will head down to aid Mucor with the wounded and will save one 1st, 3rd and 6th level slot using all the others to heal the wounded.
“Yes, there will be food. I will inform my commander immediately. We appreciate your help on the field. It will take some time to clear and bury the dead so an hour will be fine. Beautifully trained animals you have.” Davos says watching the display from the griffons before mounting and riding back to the western part of the battlefield.
Gaelin & Mucor- as you approach the scene of the main battle you begin to smell the odor of death and see multiple limbs and chunks of flesh scattered along the ground. You tend to as many wounded as you can expending spell after spell but quickly run out and are left with simply applying bandages and using your cantrips to help stabilize the dying or dig graves for the dead. A giant pit is dug in the ground and all of the drekthar corpses are tossed in and doused in oil before Valeera uses her breath to burn away at the mound of bodies. A huge column of smoke rises into the air and the smell of burning flesh and hair is inescapable. Aryn & Jinara- You circle and identify the commander’s hut located near the middle of the encampment and split, each taking to your task. Aryn heading to the center and Jinara beginning on the outskirts of the camp.
Aryn, you methodically search through Rhazal’s tent. The tent seems to be stationed on top of the stump of a large tree that has recently been cut down. Inside you find a small wood and bronze chest that is locked. On the stump you see a map that is marked and written on in an unfamiliar language along with a bowl of some kind of meat stew that smells both delicious and disgusting. You exit and begin searching the nearby tents which you can tell belong to the mages and other officers as they have a somewhat more ornate layout… at least ornate in an orcish way. You find a few pouches of gold and platinum along with various items that you assume are trophies of previous victories.
Jinara, you take your time searching through each of the outer tents but quickly realize they are mostly there for temporary shelter. You find a few coins and pouches that contain coins or small gems but nothing of real value. You assume the lower ranks either carry the things they value with them or they don’t have anything. You continue your investigation seeing Aryn periodically as you approach the center of the camp and find the mage’s and officer tents. Inside you discover some trophy items taken and a satchel containing a multitude of herbs.
Aryn- 150 gp, 30 platinum, map, small locked chest
Jinara- 250 gp, satchel of herbs
You all congregate back on the western side of the field as Valeera ignites the mound of bodies. You stand silent for a short time watching the flames and contemplate the finality of death. You look around at the soldiers who are all battered and exhausted from the day. You use the griffons to help transport as many soldiers as you can to the camp. Once finished you are led into a large tent where a tall slender female elf stands at the end of a long table with a map laid out on it. Standing on either side of the table are Davos, a male dwarf and a half-elf. The female elf bows her head slightly as you enter and motions for you to have a seat.
You sit and she introduces herself as General Reynala Daevaris. She speaks in a calm but confident manner, her voice a bit gravely, you aren’t sure if that’s her natural voice or if it’s from the battle and smoke. “Thank you for your assistance today. Without your help we would’ve been routed." She pauses and looks around at all the faces in the room. "I know this has been a long day for us all so were going to take some time to eat before we discuss what happened today and what our immediate plans are.” A couple servants enter and tend to a spread of food and drinks sit on a makeshift table against one wall. They bring you each a plate of food and drink based on your requests.
You discover the chest is trapped mechanically and quickly disarm it removing the tiny spring from a concealed poison coated blade. Opening it up you find an ornate curved dagger that has a snakeskin wrapped handle. The spine of the blade has gold inlay of two snakes intertwined and near the hilt sits an emerald. Beneath the dagger are two small pounches, one containing 100 platinum and the other 3 rubies worth 1500 gp all together.
Examining the map you focus releasing the spell and the text begins to form words. You see a partial map of Zhora that is centered around your location in the middle of the continent. On the far east and west portions of the map you see the circled locations now are titled Traes and Esterlin. You look over the map and see various markings and notes regarding the path down the marked Eshan and Haemor boundaries. You see numerous towns circled along the battle path, the ones to the south have an X through them, you assume to mark they have been conquered.
(Is Valeera just chilling in the camp as a dragon? If she has any more uses of her shapechange I thinks she’s up to 30-40 minutes now and could join us.)
Gaelin will look around at the room taking in all the faces and begin eating his meal of meat and potatoes along with some ale. The quietness of the tent puts him on edge and he nervously begins to talk. “We’re from Telgun. We’ve been working with the Elanaetas (hope I spelled that right) to try and stop Daegon.” He’ll pause to take a bite of food then continue. “So far he’s escaped us a few times but we killed Graal in our last fight at least.” He says swallowing and taking a drink of his ale. “Daegon’sa slippery bastard.” Gaelin will then take another few bites of food and wash it down with ale.
