(OOC: GASP! that is pretty awesome!) Mucor would turn and look to the treant as the group begins to gather. Moving to the large creature, the minotaur would look up to him and smile. "Friend.. Would you mind coming and assisting us on our mission? I have a ring of water walking that I think you could use to aid us in our mission." The minotaur would say, looking very small at the feet of the treant.
(What! Well then... we can probably just lay around and watch the fireworks I guess.)
Aryn looks up at the dragon and squints thinking, that dragon seems a lot bigger, then fearful moves her arm back to grab an arrow just as she spots Gaelin. "Well that's an interesting development." She watches as the large form of Valeera lands and see that GAelin has recently been upset and says, "Everything alright brother? Where's Valeera and who is your new friend?"
Torq will gently sit the girls down and say, "Looks like we're ready to go. Happy to have you on our side Valeera. Thanks for your help." Torq knew his allies were powerful but as he watched the large dragon and treant join them he thought, We might actually stand a chance in this war.
Herbert steps forward and says, "If you are ready I will begin. I'll open the first portal for all of you and your griffons, then a second portal for the Treant."
(Assuming you're all ready.)
You mount up and prepare while Valeera shapeshifts back into her human form. Herbert opens the first portal and you rush through appearing in the courtyard of Esterlin in the dark of the morning sky a few hours before dawn. Across the field you see a shimmering portal open and the figure of the large treant lumbering through carefully first with its left branch then head then right branch followed by each foot. The portal closes behind him and he walks over with a thump.... thump.... thump.
You make your way to the tower and find the mages awaiting you along with General Keldrosh in half plate armor. The general nods at the sight of you and cocks his head slightly as the realization of a moving tree approaching hits him. "Thank you. I have arranged for a couple of our fastest skiffs to be docked should you require them. I will be taking command from the keep to the northwest while the towers will signal the fleet. Its a bit of a waiting game now. They will probably attack at dawn but they have attacked in the dark before. We'll wait for our scouts to signal their location then we prepare based on their formation. Should you need me use the ring, and I shall do likewise. For now I must take my leave of you. Blessings friends." and with that the dragonborn bows and walks rapidly towards the keep flanked by a detachment of soldiers.
The mages request you to fly up to the opening and you oblige finding a bustling stables where mages and soldiers rapidly move crates, ropes and nets based on your previous requests during the land assault. You find stations for each mount except Valeera, who due to her new size gets moved to a separate area that was previously bare. The mages quickly begin sending messages to unseen recipients and within 10 minutes a collection of blacksmiths and leather workers begin a coordinated effort to create a saddle for Valeera with the help of the mages who use Mending to quickly sow together the seams between the straps of leather and metal. Within an hour Valeera and all the griffons are saddled up and the ropes readied to be tethered to the saddles. To the south the Treant walks out to the docks and out onto the water and begins his journey out to the line of ships protecting the city only visible in the rare glimpses of half-moon light through the partly cloudy sky.
(Each griffon will be saddled with two bundles (4 alch and 4 oil). Valeera can handle four bundles and can carry 4 riders now that she is huge. Without the bundles she can carry 6 riders. If you wish to make any other preparations feel free to post them. The battle will commence sometime tomorrow or Sunday depending on my schedule.)
(Gaelin- Valeera can now shape-shift infinitely and can cast 4 spells up to 4th level once each day.)
Gaelin will grab and stow 2 more bundles in the empty slots of the saddle and strap them down so they don’t spill out. “Thank you.” Gaelin says to the crew of workers.
(OOC: Also.. I forget if it was Mucor or Gaelin... be we definitally showed Valeera how to cast control water I think... when we filled her cave with the pool for their hot tub. Just throwing that out there... )
Aryn will also grab some extra crates and place them in her bag of holding. "We should get in the air. We may be able to see them before the others and warn them." Aryn says as she mounts up onto Calypso and turns to her brother. "Gaelin, you should start casting that spell so we can communicate regardless of distance."
(We can retcon most things within reason for those that haven't posted yet.)
Another 5 minutes pass as you each mount up and secure the bundles to your griffons. You take flight and soar high into the dark morning sky. As you climb you can begin to see the light of the sun turning the dark blue of the sky into a bright aqua with pink flares at the tip of the light. You scan the horizon for 5 minutes. As Gaelin finishes his spell, Aryn and Gaelin each spot the approaching armada but in different locations. Aryn spots a large group of about 50 ships coming from the west while Gaelin sees an equally large group to the south. Each fleet is made up of two wedge formations that fan out until they connect to one another. It's hard to tell the speed from this distance but you guess the fleet will reach you in the next 3-6 minutes.
Roll Initiative! (This is purely to see whether the group acts before or after the ships and defenses once combat starts. You will have a few minutes to move and let me know where you want to be positioned on the map. The tower above the white rectangles is your resupply tower for bundles. It will take you: 6 rounds to reach, resupply and return to the back of the ship barricade.)
Map: (White sails= friendly, Dark sails= enemy. Fleets are roughly a mile away. Ships on the map below are only for reference to where the fleets will line up on map. The line is just separation between monitors.)
Aryn will say telepathically to the group, "We've got company to the west. About 50 ships heading this way."
(Assuming Gaelin would immediately report his findings as well...)
She'll wait for Gaelin to inform the group of the southern fleet then use her band to contact the general. "General we've got two large fleets of about 50 ships each heading in from the west and the south. Best guess is they'll impact the front line in the next 3-6 minutes. Alert the troops. Is there any group you'd like us to target together so you can reinforce the other side or would you rather us split up and aid both fronts?"
Initiative: 27 (Will wait for response from general before positioning.)
"I will take button and Tree beard and head south!" The minotaur would reply with a snort. "Anyone else is welcome to join us" he would add as they head off towards the front ship.
(Interesting choice Aryn... trying to push all the strategy back on me... I'll play along.)
"Yes, if you can focus on the southern fleet I'll reorganize our western flank and have the bulk of our defenses focus their fire on that side. Thank you for the warning. Be vigilant and good fortune. I fear we're in for a real fight." General Keldrosh responds
(Yup. It's all because we want to be like Mucor. :) )
"Understood general. Likewise." Aryn replies before telepathically telling the group, "We're heading south together. Keldrosh is re-purposing some forces to the west while we focus on the south. Let's sink these bastards." and she'll follow closely behind heading for the middle between the two points of the triangle.
16 (Treant can fit if Herbert uses the spell once for the Treant and once for the group so Mucor can bring his friend to work. )
"Mucor. You are welcome friend. Hopefully it will help in the days to come." Jinara says

"This is Valeera. It's a long story but she's okay. I'll tell you all later. Let's go help save the city." Gaelin replies.
(love it.)

(Lol Torq will also stow a bundle in his bag of holding. )
"I'll join you Mucor. Alexandria and Juliana care to join us?" Torq says and he'll head south towards the eastern side of the encroaching armada.
(Yup. It's all because we want to be like Mucor. :) )

(Oh wow I missed a lot. )
"South it is." Gaelin says as he and Valeera bank that direction and will fly towards the western side of the fleet.
(Targeted: myself, Valeera, Aryn, Mucor, Jinara, Torq, Alexandria, Juliana for telepathic bond. Valeera will choose: Fireball Dimension Door Control Water and Wall of Fire)
Initiative 14
(I will RP in the morning but I will join the group to the south)
