Welcome to the Shadows of the Old Republic campaign! I'm excited to have us all together to participate in this adventure. I'm hoping to keep everything on this thread, so we don't need to constantly revisit the recruiting thread for this campaign:
A simple reposting of the two PDFs we'll be using for guidance as our characters grow and progress. A small note, since I fear some might've looked it over. There are two homebrews put into effect with this campaign:
One other homebrew note. In this Star Wars conversion, characters do not fully heal with a long rest. There are several class abilities and other features to aid in healing over time, but heroes cannot do it on their own. Instead, a long rest is treated the same as a short rest in regards to regaining hit points.
I'm also adding another homebrew, because I think they forgot to finish the weapons section. All weapons with the Light property have the Finesse property too. Also, the Lightsaber (Double), has both the Finesse and Special properties. "Lightsaber (Double): The double-bladed lightsaber, also known as the saberstaff, is a lightsaber variant that features a blade emitted from both ends. With a bonus action, you are able to make an additional attack with the weapon. If you are a Jedi wielding the weapon, it gains the Light property." - this seems thematically appropriate as a weapon after having read through saberstaffs and their difficulty to use.

Alright, I think that's everything! I'm excited to see where our adventures take us!
The year 3681 BBY is the starting year of this mission. Several months ago, the Sith Empire returned, destroying the Republic forces stationed in orbit with a surprise assault. Without warning, the Sith Empire has laid waste to anyone who would defy them and their crusade to reclaim what was stolen from them by the Republic.
Yavin IV is the fourth moon in orbit around the red gas giant Yavin. Covered in dense jungles, swamps, and rain forests, the moon sits in a prime location, near the intersection of two well-trafficked hyperlanes. In the year 3681 BBY, the planet is the primary location of archaeological expeditions sent to understand the Massassani culture, now extinct. It also has a medical center stationed in a mountainous region bordering the ocean, under the ownership of the Galactic Republic. The medical center sees patients and treats sentients from across that region of the Outer Rim. The medical center is well guarded by Republic troopers who follow orders given by a sharp-minded Jedi named Faliden.
A distress call has been sent out by the medical center - one that those aboard the Lucky Jako pick up. The distress call comes from the panicked voice of a female human. "My name is Ashik, and I am the head of research at Alta Medical Center. To anyone listening, we request immediate assistance and aid. Our medical center, stationed on Yavin IV, is under attack by some mercenary group, and our forces are being overwhelmed as we speak. We will provide ample compensation to anyone who comes to our aid. The coordinates to our location are with the distress call." The Lucky Jako is fast approaching Yavin IV by hyperdrive, and could reach the surface of the moon within 15 minutes.
Rem-Jas, who when standing he is about 6'2'', with moss green skin and wearing a mix of pilot and mechanic outfit and with the bad habit of smoking Hutteses cigars, hear the darned distress call, lowers the comm volume...Kark! I should have not left the ships communication system open. Next time I decide on a detour, I need to pay more attention to this stuff...Rem-Jas thinks to himself.
Turning to his copilot, Rem says: Of course this transportation job would not be as simple as we hoped for...this Jakobeast luck never lets us down, right chubba? So, do we pretend we didn't hear it if the passengers ask or we try to get some credits out of this? A Med Center might be thankful for their rescue...what you think?
Sitting on top of a small box in the copilot seat, a Jawa wearing a heavy dark brown cloak, sat looking out through the window. His face, a blackness that had only 2 yellow eyes showing. Tsussel Isil began to tap the blaster pistol at his side, a tick he did when bored or nervous. In basic he responded to the pilot, "Best we go for the credits." Looking at the med center he added, "We always seem to need them."
The door to the cockpit slides open and in walks Son Lok rubbing the back of his head, “Hey do you that message went over the ship comms? You really need to make sure-“ Son cut himself off as he snapped over to hit the button to close the door.
“Look I’m just going to say this quick before that Rodian walks in. I think this is a terrible idea. I think this is going to get us all killed, but I also think that we can get a good payday out of this. Since that Jedi is going to try and make us go anyways. I say we pretend that we decided to go help because we’re good republic citizens and not because we’re credit grubbing spacers.” Son let out all at once in an uninterrupted breath.
He paused to take a breath, then looked to his two crewmates, “Thoughts?”
Tsussel brought his hand to his head. "I completely forgot about that walking Paragon of Justice." Looking to both his crew he continued, "You know what he was doing this morning? He was down in the cargo bay flinging a saberstaff around. And this was early I mean before I even had my 3rd pot of Caf." Turning around completely he had to kneel on the box while holding the head rest. "I agree though we should "act" like we are doing that out of the kindness of our hearts.... then one of us can talk to the higher ups about payment......away from the Jedi of course."

So we all agree that this isthe right thing to do! We could never let this distress call be unheard! And once we rid this place of this mercenaries we can see about the replacement part fund we are working toward. Surely the Galactic Republic will help those that help them.
Said that with the knowing smirk Tsu and Son are used to, Rem reaches for the internal comm of the ship: Noble passengers, we just received an urgent distress call from the Medical Center in Yavin IV and we cannot let they suffer at the hands of filthy mercenaries this fare out! We are obliged to show that we of the Galactic Republic take care of each other!
We will arrive in 15 min.
Preparing for what could be a great bet for Rem had no Idea what sort of mercenaies could take on a Galactic Republic facility without much warning, he turns to the ships sensors (if they exist and are working properly) and scans the planets orbit and surface for ships.
Isis's personal com crackles to life. A cold voice warbling somewhere between grinding metal and a dial up modem breaks in "This unit is ready to eliminate with extreme prejudice."
Picking up the com, "No need to eliminate just yet BC! Just the same I want you to be ready in case we need it. Code word: Utini." With that he clicked off the com. Seeing the surprised look on everyones face Tsussel just shrugged, "I found him in a scarp yard and figured I could use the extra help. In my line of work it's always nice to have a helping hand. Now I don't claim to be the best mechanic out there but when I put him back together.....Well lets just say he's a bit on the ummm homicidal side of things." With that one of his eyes closed and then opened again. The crew got the impression that Tsussel just tried to wink; that or he had a weird way of blinking.

Mercenaries attacking a medical centre? Strange. Aevar stands up, ending his meditation. He picks up a sword hilt from the floor in front of him as he does so, and quickly turns the power on the lightsaber on and off, ensuring that it is still functioning.
"I wonder why they'd attack a medical centre. Doing so is something that people shouldn't get away with."
Son rolled his eyes from behind his eye protecting goggles, 'Don't lay it on too think Rem'
He turned to leave the cockpit to find his splicing kit, when the comms crackled back on with a synthesized voice he didn't recognize. As the message finished and his friend finished trying to explain the new crewmember, Son let out a deep exasperated sigh. "You made a murder bot? Why? Why would you make a murder bot? You know how I feel about murder bots after the Polis Masa incident. I still sometimes-" Son stopped himself with another deep sigh, hanging his head and turning to the door.
"You what no it's fine. It's fine! I'm going to go find my splicing kit and see what our passengers think of all of this." He muttered mostly under his breath, talking to himself more than anyone else. Son leaves to try and find the Jedi and the Miraluka.

Tsu! Son has the right idea, the last time you decided on fixing a bot we ended up living Nar Shadaa without explaining to the Hutts that Wizithe wasn't responsible…
Winking back to Tsu, at least Rem thinks he winked: Nothing can be done now anyway about Wizithe and your new friend, so lets make the most of it!
Tsussel groaned, "I thought we weren't gonna talk about that any more! Besides this time will be different! BC doesn't have a bad motivator, the last one was just plan lazy." Looking back over his shoulder to make sure that no one was there. "And who's Wizithe? You mean Wyz'Ith? That Twi'lek was as crazy as they come! It wasn't my fault at all! You recommended her for for the job."

Scanning the planet, you detect numerous ships in orbit. Most would fall under the safe assumption of being apart of an archaeology expedition, while some are more questionable. Leaving hyperspace, you appear just outside Yavin IV, a blueish-green sphere that grows larger and larger as you pull in closer. Focusing in on the coordinates Ashik gave you, your scans do not detect any ships in orbit above that region. When Son opens to door, standing there is a Rodian, with dark tan skin and eyes that seem to mirror the midnight sky seen on a clear night. A long handle, clearly identified as the handle of a saberstaff, rests on his left hip. The scowl which rested on his face turned into one of surprise. "I... uhh... was just about to knock... I wasn't eavesdropping." The scowl returns as quickly as it left. Something has put him in a bad mood. "Anyway, it's my obligation as a Jedi Knight to aid and assist those who are in need... fortunately for you all. The name's Klulvae. I overheard your... " He smirks, "zealous desire to save those poor souls over the comm." He laughs, quietly. "I think one of the female passengers, a Twi’lek, swooned when she heard the captain so bravely declare his desire to serve the Republic.” Winking to Son Kol, he continues, “I'm sure the reward promised has nothing do to with it.”
The ship continues to descend, passing through the clouds and revealing your destination: a large tower, built into the side of a cliff, amidst an epic landscape of stone mountains, bright green jungles, and the dark blues of the ocean. As the ship descends further, you're able to make out the burning remains of two ships as black smoke billows into the sky. A third sits a few hundred feet away from the medical center.
A message appears on the com screen in the cockpit, it reads: "Atmospheric reentry detected. This unit is stationed on the starboard landing ramp. Weapon systems active. Awaiting activation signal 'uniti' or threats against those bearing 'crewmember' designations. 'Maximum Carnage' protocols will be run in the event that either activation condition is met."
BC-09 HK-0037 retracts his SCOMP link and takes up a defensive posture on the landing ramp. Small servos whine and energy hum as his weapon systems move into place and power up. MMVUOOMP The energy shield mounted on his left arm hums to life it's crackling blue energy filling the air with a dull humming sound.
Aevar wanders up to the cabin, leaning in. He holds his Stun Baton as a white cane, though in truth he needs no such implement.
"I suspect there will be several passengers who will be upset by this detour." He smiles, "But I don't mind helping out. I never had a destination on this journey through the stars. I'm just following a trail, and at the moment, it ends when this ship reaches its destination."

I never herd of Jedi that hear privet conversations behind locked doors! But that's fine, if you act like one of us we might understand each other better! Hahahahaha
Reading BC-09's commentary appear in the ships computer, Rem turns to Tsu: Maximum Carnage? Really? Maximum Carnage?! This is going to be a fun trip!
Since everyone is at the bridge: Ok, since we are all here, there is a ship a few hundred feet of the med center and two others closer to it burning. If the ship is with the mercenaries it might already have detected us, so I am for landing directly at the med center's bay...do you see one Tsu?
Either way, I need to activate the Cloak. Rem gets up and holding the controls with one hand, what makes the ship balk a bit, he grabs a Cloak from a compartment next to Son and starts dressing it and going back to his sit.
"Don't even start Rem, you know full well that "Maximum Carnage" sounds way better then Protocol 66! Your just mad that BC thought of it before you did." Looking out to the docking bays Tsussel replied, "It seems like there is an extra docking bay next to the 3rd ship. We could land next to it." Looking back at the passengers with his eyes shining bright yellow, "In fact we could have BC and *cough cough* a couple of the freeloaders *cough cough* the jedi and the Mialuka do a quick sweep of that ship, while the rest of us hold a defensive position outside it." Already Tsussel's mind was beginning to see credit signs based on that ship! It would make for some excellent SCRAP, not to mention all the credits they could save from repair shops!
Before getting ahead of himself Tsussel quickly keyed in the coms, "BC, you will be doing recon with 2 of the passangers, the Rodian and the Miraluka, aboard another vessel. Ship is unknown as friendly or hostile. If they fire more than one shot, assume hostile intent and begin Maximum Carnage. Secondary mission: If unknown ship is hostile, once targets are eliminated, I want you to change the ship registration code to my I.D.F. (Identification Flight Licence) and the ship name to "Harvester." With that he keyed off the com and watched the slow descent.
"Affirmative. Upgrading designation status to 'crewmember'. Altering mission parameters. Objectives updated. Ready to eliminate with extreme prejudice!" The com crackles as the automated voice confirms Isil's commands. Those in the cockpit, though unable to explain why, are left with the distinct impression of excitement as the transmission comes to an end.
As the two force users are making their way back to the landing ramp, the warning light indicating that the landing ramp is open winks on.
Wind whips through the entry compartment as the droid stands on the open landing ramp warbling madly in Jawaese while the ship begins it's landing cycle.
Klulvae cannot help but smile at hearing the words of BC reprocessed by the crew. In truth, he'd been seeking for some excitement, even if the council wouldn't approve of such actions. He'd realized by now that was the reason he was being sent to the outpost on Rhen Var. Rhen Var was considered a "vacation" spot amongst the troopers. No actions involved. Just blissful silence and relaxation. He shuddered at the thought. Secretly, he lived for the thrill that came during battle.
"Being told what to do by honest public transporters? This is certainly becoming a new day for me." He smiles, turning to the Miraluka behind him. Scanning him over, he feels the inklings on Force-sensitivity. "You're blessed, Miralukan. You should work on that gift some more. The Order might find use for you!" About to leave, he stops, remembering something. "Oh. Yes. The other passengers. For their safety, we should land a ways off. There's a smaller cliff a few hundred feet from the large cliff that we can land on top of. That will keep the ship relatively hidden, if they having noticed us yet. But do as you will. They're your passengers." With that he turns to leave, moving through the crowd of passengers. A mix of emotions has them at unease. Fear, anger, and curiosity mostly. The Twi'lek moves herself around till she can get a good look at Son, believing him to be the captain. She smiles, winking at him.
The ship lands on the cliff, amidst a dark day. Dark clouds loom ominously above you, hinting at the downpour they still hesitate to give. The cliff itself drops about 40 feet to the ground which leads to the medical center and the three ships. Approaching the loading dock, Klulvae has a look of genuine concern and curiosity as he sees the droid amidst the billows of wind, warbling madly in some alien language. What a day this is going to be.
