[Silv'ar if you're busy no worries, but I am going to press forward and when you get a chance you can roll. Lil, keep an eye out: Someone else might trigger an opportunity for you to wake up. Also, for everyone, if the pacing is too fast or too slow let us know. Feedback is always welcome.]
As most of the party awakes, all hear the lilting song, but Mobya and Ayra are captivated by the sound and stand up and begin walking toward its source [you are officially charmed ] . As both rise, Mobya is so focused on the beauty of the song she accidentally kids the papoose where the three creatures were sleeping. Arya actually bumps into Wraeven as she attempts to walk toward the forest across the camp. The rest of you succeeded on your saving throws, awaking to hear the song and cries of the black bird and Wraeven.
As Wraeven shouts, he sees with his patronly dark vision one of the creatures carrying something, run off into the forest behind the wagons and seem to disappear as it gets out of his night sight.
Wraeven you are up then.
Initiative Order
Unknown Creature 1 by wagon - 22
Wraeven -20
Mobya (charmed and incapacitated) - you can try to re-roll the Wisdom Saving Throw at the end of each turn
Unknown Creature 2 by wagon -14
Agozur-13
Ayra-11 (charmed and incapacitated) - you can try to re-roll the Wisdom Saving Throw at the end of each turn
The campsite is about 40ft diameter (20ft radius). You, Mobya, Ayra, and the children were on the far side from the wagons. You run around the fire toward the wagons, and as you chase the creature that began running, you are moving quite fast past the back of the wagon. You realize (just a bit too late), "oh yeah...there were two." The second creature, who had begun turning to run, sees you coming and makes the most of the opportunity as you sprint by, a large tree limb and a hairy arm loom toward you in the night. Attack: 13 Damage: 5
[What does it look like after your contact with the creature? you would also still travel another 20 ft.]
Wraeven takes the blow, seems like something definitely popped, but driven on by an otherworldly power he continues for the creature that took something.
Ooc: I thought there were three creatures, 2 in camp and 1 running away. If we are able to get a quick map next time it will help me from running into an attack of opportunity.
Mobya, walking with glazed eyes and a contemplative facial expression, muttering under her breath “the music, this melody, music, melody, music, melody”
There were two by the wagons, one of those two had better initiative than you, and it moved and dashed before anything else could happen. Since they knew they were sneaking, they were not surprised when you shouted. I will try to do a quick pic.
Also to clarify:
Normal movement = 30ft
Dash as a BA = 30ft more for a total of 60ft
Taking the Dash action as an action = 30ft more for a total of 90 ft not 120 ft.
(Still pretty flippin' fast though ;) and it is possible every turn that you where you maintain concentration so still awesome.
If you do all of this you will catch the creature, but not be able to attack this turn.
Here is a terrible picture hand drawn, (sorry no time for digital today).
The creature by the wagon, seeing that it's hit did not do lethal damage, takes flight, running in an east-southeasterly direction.
Agozur, you're up.
[Wraeven, sorry for the confusion though. Though, I think it still makes sense that you would have taken the opportunity attack from a story perspective. You were thinking quickly and the other creature dashed off, drawing focus, and one remained partially blocked by the end of the wagon. Though I completely understand from a gaming standpoint, I think it makes sense from the character standpoint if it makes you feel any better. I'll try to preempt a map in the future if I can.]
Yes, physically, you are on the right at the east of camp. Agozur stirs near you, and as a human and following the direction that Wraeven indicated, you see shadows moving quickly from the wagon into the forest behind. Aside from the campfire nearby, the moonlight doesn't make it through the canopy very well, so the limited light makes it difficult to see.
[Also, I realize Silv'ar didn't get on the map, I would imagine he stayed by Morn as well, since you two bonded in the tunnel/cave.]
[Mobya and Ayra your turn will be spent moving toward the source of the song just below due east, but you can go ahead an make your second wisdom saving throw for the end of your turns.]
