Wilcox listens to your story going between nodding along and shaking his head at various points. He seems especially interested in this "pocket dimension" where you were all revived and asked several questions about it. At first it seems like maybe he doesn't believe that you had all, in fact lost your memory, but then realize it's just his inquisitive nature to ask questions even though some of them you can't answer. After hearing the whole tale he first swears, then stands up agitated...
"So you don't have the book? I'm truly sorry for what you've been through. It's quite a tale but that book is very valuable. It would be a great loss for the school if it's not found." After pacing for another moment he sits back down in a huff. "Well, there's nothing to be done about it right now. First things first"
He turns to JIm. "It's strange to have to tell you of your past but you clearly don't remember. It sound like you'll get your memory back in time so I'll tell you what seems most relevant right now. You and Tim were friends. He got you the job here at the school and you were working on a project together. Tim was convinced that he could make an item that would put a portable hole to shame. Several at the school thought it was folly but some of his theories had merit. That's why I lent him the book. It explains in great detail several methods of reaching other planes. Some for communication, some for travel, and some for creating extra dimensional spaces, such as a portable hole or bag of holding." He shakes his head "I knew some of the teaching were over his head but he told me he was traveling to see a friend who was going to help him. I'm afraid I don't know the rest of your companions but he did say he was going to look for protection for the journey. Perhaps his wife would know more about that, and she must be notified that Tim is here while we raise funds for him"
Looking to you all "Would you take on that task or should I send someone?"
After an uncomfortable amount of time Jim gets the impression he may have been directly addressed. He opens his robe, peeks down at the name tag on his work shirt, then answers:
”Ah yes, sorry, I’m Jim.
I’m afraid I truly do remember almost nothing. It’s terrifying actually, because I’m somehow sure I normally have near perfect recollection. It’s reassuring that you seem certain our memories will come back.
Of course we’ll take on the task of speaking to Tim’s wife. But... ah... we’ll obviously need directions.”
Wilcox nods "Yes, of course you will. It's not far..." He gives you directions. It's pretty much straight east, about 1/3 mile as the crow flies going. There is a trail that goes pretty much right there or you can take the roads which will take a bit longer.
