The group works around the place as the evening comes on, Hildi continuing to assess costs, cleaning things here and there. Ilena puts her monk training (in this case in cleaning floors!) to good use beside Lif, and by the end of the night, the taproom is passably clean. It turns out Lif has no talent in the kitchen, but Pascal is more than capable, and the smells coming out of there are tremendous, but most of the actual cooking will have to wait until morning. Drusk tuts about wondering about water and firewood, and declares he'll have that sorted in the morning, but it does not appear the Manor has a ready source of water. And Jorin helps about the place, turning some of the most hopeless furniture into kindling for Pascal.
By the time the sun has set, the Manor is looking much more presentable. As you gather after good work done, Lif goes on puttering about (he does not appear to need to rest, yay for the undead!).
OOC > DM fiat here, to move us along...
You all agree on a plan to reconvene in the morning to finish preparations. If Renaer has not been found at the Yawning Portal (the only place you've seen him), Hildi will visit the Palace to see if he can find his whereabouts and invite him to a late morning brunch/investment pitch. Drusk will secure water and firewood (he has a plan), and meet back at the Manor. Jorin will Jorin. Pascal will be up early (either spend the night at the Manor or be in early from his room at the Baker's Guild) and be baking and cooking. And Ilena says something about needing to deliver some fish somewhere.

Jorin enjoys breaking the old furniture and returning to the portal for a nice rest. He assures the party that he has the beverage situation for the morning covered. After spending a year eating and drinking his way through the city, he has a veritable rolodex of the various purveyors of fine beverage.
In the morning he sets out to his three favorite taverns -- a Dwarven run bar called Stormbreaker, which features a wide selection of both spirits and ales, Eye of the Beholder, a tavern and inn with the deepest flagons around, and of course, Graklyn's Tankard, with it's lovely views from atop The Drunkard.
He will (re)sample his three favorite brews from each place, and then get a keg of his top pick of the nine...make that a keg of his top two.

Drusk to Jorin: "Don't go overboard. Those quarter-barrel kegs of ale will run through your purse if you are not careful. I've already purchased a pitcher of ale (gallon) and a bottle of fine (but pricey!) wine from Graklyn's Tankard, for tonight's investor hosting.

ale 2 sp/gallon; common wine (pitcher) 2 sp; fine wine 10 gp/bottle. If you are using pint-mugs, then a gallon is 8 mugs.
Doesn't say how much off when buying in bulk from Costco... On someone's blog, they calculated that the price of beer is similar whether you buy cases of cans, or a keg.
Wild guess --> 1 gp for a quarter-barrel keg (10 gal capacity), fill it with ale 2 gp.
Or go whole hog with a barrel (2 gp) and fill it with 40 gallons of ale for 8 gp. Except, a full barrel weighs 400 pounds.)

Ilena opens the front door loudly, then storms inside. She slaps a fish down on the kitchen counter and throws her cloak over a coat hangar, sitting down in a little bit of a huff.

Jorin listens to Drusk's description of the various capacities and costs if the keg venture. He nods his head very thoughtfully and says, "16 mugs of ale sounds like the right amount. Thank you for your advice my friend, I have no mind for numbers."
Hr will plan on procuring two, quarter barrels of the top picks of his morning ale crawl.
The group re-convenes at the Manor mid morning. The weather has taken a turn for the colder, and clouds are starting to assemble in the West.
Pascal is in full cooking mode, and as Hildi returns, looking despondent, a dripping ladle floats over to him, with a shouted imperative from the lizard man to "Taste that!"
Hildi joins Ilena at one of the few intact tables and they look unfulfilled together.
Drusk and Jorin arrive together, burdened by barrels and casks and whatnot, some empty, some full. Lif immediately begins arranging the casks and the barrel where he wants them, and if anyone tries to change where he puts them, it just moves back when they aren't looking.
Then Drusk makes some magic happen, and the empty barrel is full of clean, cool, delicious water, courtesy of Lliira.
Then there is a knock on the door. Lif opens it, and a wood elf pokes her head in. "Hello? Oh, hello," she says to the assembled team. "My name is Fala, I met Pascal yesterday?" Pascal is singing loudly to himself in the kitchen. "I'm just across the way," and she motions deeper into the alley. "I couldn't help but notice all the comings and goings, and thought I should introduce myself. I own the herb shop."

Then Drusk makes some magic happen, and the empty barrel is full of clean, cool, delicious water, courtesy of Lliira.
Before that, Drusk took the (previously used) empty barrel over the the fireplace, gave it a scrubbing inside and out, then a little drying with Sacred Flame. Not enough to scorch the wood, but to give it a disinfecting. "The elves in my church were usually aghast at using Lliira's gift on what they called dishwashing. But fresh water is vital to life and cleanliness, so I think they were just being fussbuckets."
Fills the barrel halfway (20 gallons), as he is almost out of spell slots for today. But that should be plenty for a few days. There is a 1 gallon pitcher placed near the barrel, so people can draw water out.

Lif finds a ladle from somewhere and brings it over during the barrel cleaning for some scouring of its own, then hangs it on the barrel.
Jorin greets the wood elf, who smiles broadly and returns the handshake. "Thank you, no, I have had a little morning wine already. I wake early for the dawn plants. From the smells it appears you are planning a feast, unless this is how you always eat?"
