Drusk grabs Jorin and Quillary by the arm. "Wait a moment. Quillary, you said something earlier which has been bugging me, but I can't figure out why. You said: 'They do seem to stay at the task they have stolen from those who were living. Let us hope none of them frequented the library at night.' Hmm... hmm..."
Drusk looks a bit alarmed, then starts rustling through the papers on the front desk, that Jorin looked over earlier (post 1543). He then reads from the top paper. "All settlers and soldiers apart from the night watch are to report to the library at dusk."
Drusk looks at Jorin. He then looks at Quillary. Then he looks at the front door of the library, currently open, with the darkness of the sun already set.

Hildigrim is ignoring what's going on with the others (rolling barrels and rereading papers) and is trying to figure out if there's an order for how to place the four books in the bookcase.
Pascal is going to slowly lift up his mirror and look at the library through it.
No skulks in the library right now.
But that could change quickly.

“Good news, Jorin,” says Quillary, “It looks like we decamp to the ale house tonight, where we have already cleared the skulks out.”
She looks about. “Hildigrim! Either put the books in their place right now, or bring them quick. We may soon have much company, and need to either solve this riddle or leave!”

ey/em/eirs, or they/them works, too (just not he). Role-playing since that keep on those borderlands. Here's my D&D stuff. I love it so.
Hildigrim looks over his shoulder, back at the shelves, back over his shoulder, and back at the shelves. He makes a sound of frustration before stuffing the four tomes in his pack and hurrying to catch up to the others. "I want to compare the titles and Andras's notes to the parchment we found on the back of his door," he says as a way of consoling himself.
"We get to sleep in the ale House!" Jorin exclaims with glee, and for a moment the barbarian's jovial nature is back in full force. He'll grab one (or as many) of the large mirrors they took from the various other buildings to bring with them.
OoC - Actually, is Jorin strong enough to drag the bookshelf with the four notches over to the ale House? He hates to see Hildi looking put out.
Jorin heads over to the bookshelf that Hildigrim is looking at. It is firmly into the wall (no gap). It is not coming loose.
Looking at post 1540, where is everyone on the map? I will make the following suggestions, but it can be changed if you had something else in mind.
Hildigrim & Jorin in the east - southeast corner
Drusk & Quillary by the Guard Station
Pascal & Seren north of that, in the space between the spiral staircase and the Reading Room. (Seren will not be fighting, but you can have her do other actions, like dragging objects around.)
The full-length mirror is next to them, facing south (aiming over that long rug west of the stairs). Two more half-length mirrors near that Guard Station: one behind the desk facing east, and another in the northeast corner of that area (the wall around the stairs) facing the front entrance.
Pascal is looking around the library in the mirror, so he sees a grey hand reaching in from the outside, grabbing the doorframe at the entrance.
(OOC: I didn't know how you want to approach this situation. This could be like a zombie siege, in which case that door needs to be closed and barricaded. Or you can try to clobber them as they rush through the entrance, like when the Fellowship of the Ring attacked the goblins in Balin's crypt in Moria.)

Pascal is going to take the initiative here. He’s going to spit outside, which travels an incredible distance to reach outside. As it does, it erupts into a massive Flaming Sphere. Once the Skulks start moving in, it’s going to rev up and begin steamrolling them!

OOC > Oh, I do love me a Flaming Sphere.
Quillary intends to meet them at the doorway, better that than be surrounded and have them coming in the windows. First, however, she will stay by the guard station and will cast Moonbeam situated just outside the door, so anything there is in the 5 ft area. (Not sure if we're rolling for damage, but in case: 10 radiant damage, or half on a Con Save vs DC 13.)

Jorin starts to head back, when the window near Hildigrim shatters. Neither Jorin or Hildigrim can see what broke it, but Hildigrim quickly picks up the hand mirror that he had put on a nearby bookcase while he was studying the books.
The party can also hear another window shattering in the Reading Room.
Pascal says there is more than 1 skulk coming in the front door.
Hildigrim has a hand mirror. The silver tray that Drusk was holding (a 2nd hand mirror) is currently lying on the guard desk, so Quillary can grab it if she wants to. The other mirrors are the blue double-arrows. The skulks are invisible unless you can use a mirror! The full-length mirror has an effective range of 40', and the 2 half-length mirrors have a range of 20'. (This assumes that the skulk is somewhat between you and a mirror.)
The blue "S" is Seren. As stated, she will not be involved with the attacks, but you can have her move the mirrors around, or drag unconscious people, if you tell her to.
Everyone post what they are doing. Besides your Initiative roll, include a WIS saving throw, and another d20 in case I need it. "Due to the threat of the skulk horde, the adventurers must make a DC 15 Wisdom saving throw when first seeing the skulks or be frightened." (It is possible for Jorin to not see the skulks this round, but everyone else is looking in the mirrors.)

Jorin stops and whirls around towards the breaking glass. Seeing he is already in one of the mirror's sight lanes he shouts, "Hildi, to me! We will fight this one together."
Initiative: 11
WIS Save: 18
Move: None
Action: Ready an attack with the silvered handaxe triggered by a S1 coming into range
(Jorin is not by a big mirror. Those are all by the entrance, and the broken window is on the east wall.
But... The last time I ran this, someone asked how shiny the silver axe is. I will let Jorin use the silver axe as a mirror, and he can attack with his usual axe.)

OoC - oh, I was thinking the double arrows were pointing in the direction of the reflective surface, gotcha.
(OoC: Sorry about that. When I picked a normal line, it was hard to tell where the mirrors were on the map. The double arrows were to make the ends of the line stand out a bit.)

Initiative: 9
Hildigrim, armed with the mirror in one hand and his rapier in the other, attempts to sneak up on and skewer the skulk coming in the window.
Stealth: 5
Action: rapier attack: 15; damage: 8 piercing damage
If he does have advantage due to successful stealth: 13
I doubt 11 is high enough to hit, but just in case ...
Sneak attack if appropriate: 5
After attacking, Hildigrim yells, "It's right here, Jorin!"
Bonus: help Jorin vs. the skulk if his initiative is again before Hildigrim's next round
