The gazer turns from Silver as Vassa starts to speak and floats closer to Vassa and then around him stopping back in front of him. Then in a high-pitched voice, "You look a lot like Krentz. But Krentz is not from New Olamn School. Go back the way you came. Disturb me no longer."
The gazer then floats backwards, back to where it had been hovering, never taking it's eyes off the party.
'Realising his blunder, Vassa silently berates himself for his absent-mindedness. This is not some belligerent drunk that he's trying to talk down from a brawl. Not wanting to antagonise the creature, the bard steps back into the shadows to stand at Asa's side as he mutters in response to Kestrell's question,'
"My bad. This critter's both observant and intelligent. Not my usual tavern audience. The good news is that I think that I have it... and everyone else... thoroughly confused. And we have a serviceable distraction to hand, if needed."
'Lifting his crossbow, the bard then whispers to Silver,'
"Over, around... or through?"
'Vassa looks at his fellow half-drow expectantly, realising that this is the sewer savvy slickster's element and happy to let him call the play.

Silver just looks at the creature as he listens to him mention Krentz and smiles "Such a grace from one so powerful as you - however, sir we are on our way to see Krentz or maybe it was some associates of his, you see we have something to give them and they have something for us."
The gazer focuses all of his eyes on Silver, the eye stalks swaying and undulating while staring at him. Just about the time you decide nothing is going to happen, it yells in it's high pitched voice, "Deceiver!" and one of the eyes changes color as it focuses on you. You feel a force hit you in the chest.
Silver: You've been hit with the gazer's Telekinetic Ray. You must succeed on a DC 12 Strength saving throw or be thrown 30 feet back down the path away from the gazer.
Silver just feels himself lifted off the ground and instinctively braces for hitting anything that may be in the path that he is thrown. He just stands up and brushes himself off.

'Seeing Silver picked up and tossed down the sewer tunnel by some unseen power of this tiny but horrid looking creature, Vassa lines up a shot from the shadows and whispers to his companions as he squeezes the trigger,'
"Well, I guess that we do this the old fashioned way. Now's your chance, Locky!."
'To his unseen servant, Vassa will whisper with a nod towards the tiefling sorceress at his side,'
"Stay between that thing and Asariel."

Vassa is commanding his unseen servant to stay between the gazer and Asa during the battle, hopefully providing the sorceress with some cover, since despite being invisible the servant is corporal.

Seeing Silver go flying, Renaer draws his scimitar and charges the gazer and stabs at it's center eye. The gazer manages to dodge slightly to the side so Renaer's sword pierces just to the right of the eye.
"...Debts must always be paid, sometimes in more than blood and gold. But this is Ordo Ursa," Ren places his hand on Erakas's chest, right where the Dragonborn's heart is. "Right here. And it always has been and always will be. Don't ever forget that. Because I won't."

Silver just sighs as the situation escalates into combat 'well this is going to create problems' he thought to himself as he drew his dagger and shortsword. He just charged forward slashing at the creature with Renaer.
As the gazer slides to the side to dodge Renaer, he open himself up to attacks from Silver whose first slash kills the creature but before it can fall to the ground, Silver impales it on his dagger.
Looking at Silver standing there holding a dagger with a gazer on it Renaer raises an eyebrow, "Meat on a stick?"
"Nicely struck, Silver. Sorry if I interupted some plan of yours, but when I saw that thing toss you down the tunnel, I didn't much feel like waiting to see what its next trick might be.
So, what now? I guess we could either wander down one of these two other tunnels... or we can try to open up yonder hatch to see exactly why that gazer was stationed here. Since he knew that Xanathar thug, Krentz I think he called him, then I'm guessing that it was a sentry of some sort. Maybe we'll find Floon up there, though likely not alone. Beholder kin, even lesser ones like that gazer usually serve powerful masters... magic wielding masters, for the most part.
Regardless, I say we go up. I've had enough of trudging through this muck."
'Turning towards the wall momentarily as he makes a gesture and sings the lyrics to the first spellsong he ever learned, Vassa turns back to smile reassuringly at Asariel, before he crouches down next to the clearly disturbed sorceress. Reaching out slowly towards the upset tiefling's right ear, the bard gently plucks a silver stemed, softly glowing purple rose from the woman's hair, whispering,'
"It's okay, Asa. The creature is dead now. That ugly thing and its wretched kind are unworthy of your attention. Look at this silver and purple flower instead. It's beautiful... is it not?"
'Vassa will summon forth a puff of wind to momentarily drive the stench of the sewers away, before summoning the scent of a rose in Spring.'
[OOC] Vassa will cast prestidigitation three times, once hidden to create the illusory rose, and twice openly with a smile, to create the puff of wind and create the odor of the rose.
