Axonia and Viviora emerge cautiously. Axonia's lips are firmly pursed and her eyes are brimming with wetness. Viviora looks shaken but not undeterred. Axonia whispers into Viviora's ear. The deva's assistant then says, "Thank you. Sincerely. We...require solitude."
Dog:
Dog continues west, crossing a major thoroughfare, and finding himself in the Lord's District. At first it doesn't seem much different than the Market district, with inns and shops aplenty. These give way to large, expensive houses and well-lit streets. As Dog continues to walk he slowly realizes he is utterly lost.
Dog spends 15 minutes walking through the Lord's district, asking everyone he meets if they know where to find ol' Whistle's place. The first 5 people he encounters, including house servants and wealthy pedestrians, all shake their heads at the tall, gawky human-. Finally, he stops a courier who thinks for a solid 20 seconds before he says, "Stables, right? Yeah, yeah, I know that place. You are way off here, sir. That place is north of the market district, by the east wall. It is nearly the opposite of this fancy place."
The courier proceeds to give Dog detailed directions to the place from where they stand all the way to ol' Whistle's stables.
(Ah you meant west TO the market district. Whoops. I meant to say the direction where the whistles were coming from - sorry for the miscue, personal life is a bit nutty and the player missed this one. Hoping Dog would have followed directions well even if I misread! Also Dog looks like a juggling red-headed gawky human youth in a fancy bright-colored jerkin, not a scary Goliath! Happy to retcon)
Oops on the goliath part. I forgot about that. I will edit that bit. Dog was in the market district and the whistles were coming from west of him (the watch was racing down the main thoroughfare). Dog walked too far west and got lost.
"I agree, we want smooth sailing. Let's wait for the guards, I'll tell them the story and we'll get out of here tomorrow. We will make mention of that too. I'm sure it'll make things even smoother." Gash says to Tock.
Message to Vivora: "Do you require anything else of us? We are going to speak to the guards when they appear. We will be setting off tomorrow. Thank you for everything."

Gash- Lvl14 Goblin Wizard - The High Court of the Aasimar Queen
"I cannot require anything of you," Viviora says stiffly.
Three members of the city watch climb up to the roof of the inn across the street, where they find Tock and Gash standing by the dead body of the assassin.
Across the street, Bulwark re-enters the suite with one of the hotel attendants looking very concerned about Bulwark's insistence on coming in. Viviora holds up her hands to calm the frustrated attendant. "It's alright," she says.
To Althus, Martin, and Bulwark, Viviora says, "We will explain everything to the city watch. Thank you again." However, she makes no suggestion or movement to invite the party to leave.
As Gash and Martin explain what happened, a watch officer diligently writes everything down, including the assassin's residence, the details about Ritter, and the events of this attack. On revealing the need to leave Masa in the morning, the officers look to each other, frowning.
"We will likely have more questions," one of them says. "Where are you headed? When do you expect to return?"
Another speaks up, "You understand that if we find that your account of the events here are untrue, it is our duty to do this man justice..."
Dog, following the courier's directions, finds himself at a stable next to the east wall of the city. The courier was absolutely right that this district was nothing like the Lord's District. The houses are run down, although once upon a time they may have been fine houses indeed. The shops consist more of pawn shops, liquor shops, rowdy looking taverns, and hole-in-the wall grocers with meager wares.
ol' Whistle's stable does not have a name. It does not even look like a place of business. Instead, it appears to be a house with a small yard, in which 5 horses mill about. They seem to be well-fed, with access to water and shelter. They simply do not have a lot of space to roam freely. His available horses include one pony, two mules, a riding horse, and a draft horse.
Dog approaches the front door to the establishment to knock and finds that ol' Whistle is definitely home and awake. A clatter and cursing precedes the door opening and an old, squinty-eyed man opens the door. He looks up at Dog and says, "Whaddaya want, kid?"
Tock explains, "We were told there were some fancy stables to the north of the city, we are planning to go see how pure the breed is there. Should be back the same day I assume, don't know exactly how far outside the city these are."
The officer doesn't even look to Gash for confirmation. "Oh, okay, that's not a problem then. Just give us the address or addresses where we can contact you with follow-up questions."
Another officer nods while a third speaks up, "Between you and me, you've done the city a service. That Ritter fella and a couple of others have clearly been the work of a killer. I'd bet a week's wages this is him. We'll check out his place to be sure, of course."
"You're free to go," says the first officer. "Good luck with the horses."
(Feel free to wrap things up here however you like and then head off to wherever you want.)
Gash confused at first as he thought they were going to play it straight quickly transitions into backing up Tock's story.
"Yes, we have some rather large friends so we will need something that can take on their mass without harming them. We just have to be thorough. But oh yes, we will be back."
Gash waits for their reply before offering up any additional information or bargains.
(dang you didn't even need it :P)
"Thank you sirs. It was an honor. We never got to meet Ritter, but we heard he was well loved around this city. We're sorry for the loss of such a good person. Have a good night."
Gash picks up the assassin's things and waves his friends down. "Let's go to Nev's and get some sleep."
Sending to Dog, "We got the assassin. We're headed to Nev's."
Later when they're alone Tock explains to Gash, "Wasn't one of the possible places for horses to the north of the city? I'm pretty sure we were not going to go there, but I wasn't exactly lying about it being a possibility."
(Apologies for delayed posting. More horse trading!)
Dog replies to Gash's spell: "Amazing! Just left Nev's to try ol' Whistle for horses. Nev is fine, friendly, resting with Genny. Maybe lost memory of recent days?"
In his new form, Dog replies to ol' Whistle in a squeaky voice, "Heard you have horses you're trying to sell? I might be in the market. Well, my employer is. How much would you take for each of these out front? And do you know of someplace that would have a cart for sale?"
(Dog gets the prices and if any seem like a good deal, he'll buy them. If not, he'll walk away back to Nev's to meet the others, and try another stable in the morning, and do the same thing. I'm happy to not roleplay another horse purchasing conundrum -- we could do a montage this time! Also I promise to take better care of these horses. Can't believe we just left the others there.)
Bulwark brushes himself off, pleased there is no (current) further threat, and returns to the group.

Dog hopes things are okay with his friends, and begins asking for directions to Ol' Whistle to anyone still on the streets.
