"Wha.blurp...ba..ap" Kestrell attempts to speak. Realizing he can't, Kestrell lifts his horn and starts playing the tune of "Closing Time" as he walks towards the door.
Eldon just looks at the man and sighs "Sir, please find it in your gracious heart to forgive. My friend is cheap at times would you be willing to take 50 gold for both rooms and let us stay until morning. At first light we will all depart from your establishment and you won't see any of us for a long time sir." (Persuasion: 14). Eldon reaches in his hand and pulls out the coin as a sign of good faith waiting for the man to accept or decline his offer.
The barkeep grinds his teeth, wincing his eyes as if he had gotten a headache. He keeps the 50 gp and steps away further and shouts to the others. "Get them out of here!" which results in the barmaids, and a few of the brave patrons approach the group to usher them out of the tavern.
Eldon just nodded and smiled upon hearing the words, the same as the ones after Kestrell "Pelor protects me my friend. I hope you all have a good night and may the Sun Father bless you with much happiness and forgiveness for my friend." He said as his hand grabbed a small vial of water and he just sprinkled a little on Cinna, Trogdor, and Kestrell casting Bless on them to keep them safe from this man.
OOC: Just in case y'all need to know what Bless does: Whenever a target makes an attack roll or a saving throw before the spell ends, the target can roll a d4 and add the number rolled to the attack roll or saving throw.
Eldon just placed his hand on Xavice's shoulder "I appreciate the sentiment, but I believe these men are showing us out my friend. Also, it appears I'm out 50 gold now. Let's just leave and figure out our next step, violence won't solve anything here."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
The adventurer's are ushered out of the tavern and find themselves traveling west. While they're walking, they suddenly feel uneasy while spotting a dense wall of fog forming in front of them. The dense wall of fog has faint images of demonic creatures desperately reaching outward, as if they were trying to escape by any means. The wall of fog flanks the party in all directions and is gradually consuming them. The party is now being engulfed by this dense wall of fog, and they can feel as if these demonic creatures are grasping onto their very soul. They can hear thousand's of distinct whispers, which are too copious to comprehend. This sensation seems as if it lasts for an hour, until the party eventually find themselves relocated to a remote, heavily-wooded area with a gravel road. Black pools of water stand like dark mirrors in and around the muddy roadway. Giant trees loom on both sides of the road, their branches clawing at the mist. The dense wall of fog remains behind them, but is now stationary and seems to ascend to the clouds. The sky is filled with clouds, and moonlight is absent. The party is overwrought from the experience, and has afflicted them with short-term madness.
OOC: I'm now going to be rolling to determine the type of madness each of you will experience, I'll also roll the duration.. I'm using the table from the DMG.
Cinna's short-term madness results in her doing whatever anyone tells her to do that isn’t obviously self-destructive for 1 minute(s). Eldon's madness causes him to become frightened and must use his action and movement each round to flee from the source of the fear (the wall of fog) for 9 minute(s). Kestrell's madness makes him retreat into his mind and becomes paralyzed. The effect ends if he takes any damage and will last for 5 minute(s). Trogdor's madness forces him to begin babbling and is incapable of normal speech or spellcasting for 4 minute(s). Xavice's madness is too overwhelming and he falls unconscious for 9 minute(s).
Eldon begins to back slowly away from the fog looking at his friends "Something is not right here my friends. We shouldn't go any further." The fear could be heard in his voice as continued to back away and lifted his holy symbol up in front of him below his breath he could be heard reciting a prayer to Pelor.
Several minutes have passed, and the short-term madness that the party has endured has dissipated. During the chaos, they notice dim light beaming through the thick clouds in the sky as it's now approaching the brick of dawn. The muddy, gravel road appears to have been untouched for many years as the road is rather uneven and eroded. A thick, wooded treeline borders the road for several miles.
The party members, if they travel down the road away from the dense wall of fog that was behind him, find themselves hearing a faint scream from a distance. The scream persists, sounding as if someone is desperately calling out for help.
"Wha.blurp...ba..ap" Kestrell attempts to speak. Realizing he can't, Kestrell lifts his horn and starts playing the tune of "Closing Time" as he walks towards the door.
Cinna sighs and mutters, "Bards," as she picks up her things and walks out.

Xavice smiles calmly at Eldon "Thank you, Eldon, surely we can all agree you deserve one of the beds, I am fine with sleeping on the floor.”

Ic: Xavice’s cheeks turn bright red “Well then, it seems we must find somewhere else to sleep, does anyone own a tent here?”
"A...ah..ah..S..!" Kestrell pounds his leg in frustration. Then shakes his head.
Cinna smiled at Eldon. "Thank you for the blessing."
OOC: Are we outside now?

Kestrell stands there, immobile. His eyes darting back and forth are the only things moving.
Xavice: "..."
OOC: Just had to be the one that bricked me.
Cinna backs away and stares at the fog in fear.

Cinna stops in her tracks. "What was that?" She takes a step in the direction the screaming seems to come from. "We need to help!"
