OOC - It was more for RP purposes, he rolled a 2 for deception, I was rolling insight to combat it. If I had rolled a one, I might have made Denethir believe Lyle.
Yeah, Lyle lied terribly. Everyone could tell he knew exactly what happened with the coin, although they may not know those details.
A sudden CHILL fills the room and a sensual laughter fills the air. A bargain has been struck, service for power. A new warrior has been added to the Winter Court.
A shaking Melisena responds What have you done! Oh Goddess, accept my service as sacrifice and protect us.
A silvery light fills the room but the chill does not disapate. The Goddess voice comes forth Your service I accept. But I cannot protect one that enters into a bargain with the Fey. The Fey shall not harm you, though I can say nothing for the new member of her court.
A trandlucent image of a woman appears. She stands about 5'8 with her black hair cascading down in waves. Pointed ears peak through the hair. Almond shaped , ice blue eyes turn their attention to you. She wears a web, lace dress of deepest black and her alabaster skin seems to shine through it. Revealing and hiding an irrestable body of feminine curves.
She says to the Goddess That is not our way. Once you were an ally and bargains still tie us. I Will harm none under your protection, but what is between these two is for mortal.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Eurim and the goblin share an uneasy look as the supernatural forces make physical appearances in sequence. After a moment to clear his head, Eurim turns to the goblin again. "Right." he locks eyes with the goblin. "Uh, you just saw there what we are capable of, and what forces are on our side. Now, for you I have one last question." Eurim's eyes burn with intensity. "You once served your hobgoblin chief. When we fought, you and your forces died, mostly by my hand. You survived at my pleasure, and the will of a Fundan is not easily discarded. By my will you live, so now it is your choice. Will you take me for your new chief, to live and die at my command?" He raises the crossbow bolt and holds it in front of the goblins head, his other hand on its back, ready to drive it down with the force of a mason's hammer.
OCC: Son of a... If we playing Tron, I'd have to say you were a User!!!
The Goblin shaking, its eyes wide, looks from the spot where the Fey appeared to Eurim and back. "Yes, yes, I serve, even must kill my own brothers for you. I serve."
Keestake, however, can hardly contain his rage and a growl escapes from his lips. "You cannot take that THING with us! It and all its ilk would defile himself! It will betray us! Kill it, kill it now and send it to whatever abyss its Gods have for it."
Melisena also looks, "He's right. It will betray us. It has no loyalty to us, only fear.
"Hold your tongue, elder human! This thing is now in the service of clan Fundan. Until such a time as a Fundan releases it, any attack against 'im is considered an attack against my clan, and, therefore, me." Eurim squares up and faces Keestake. He spares a glance to Melisena. "Your concern is noted, girl. But fear will motivate as well as love, so long as that which is loved or feared is worthy of it." He takes the goblin by the shoulder, holding him to his side. "I name him Rukhuzd, and he is now in my service. Bear arms and do honor to your new house, or I will send you to a fate worse than death."
"If that settles it." Eurim glares across the room, undoes the goblin's gag, and readies his crossbow for departure. "Servant, inform me and my comrades of all traps your former kin set in this place. If we are to survive, we must eliminate the hobgoblin leader, and take control of the manor house and grounds. You will help us in this endeavor. For your life, and for your clan." Eurim walks over to the next door. He looks back. "Oh, and for now, we'll just call you Ruki, for short."
Ruki, frightened responds, "No, trapps, Masster. But, how will defeath Goblinss and Orcss. Masster, I don'th know how many Orcss. They are not crew, they enemiess from another ship. Leaderss have truce, but both will attack us. Call more from shipss."
Is this place stone, wood, or both? We could start a fire?
The mansion is made of stone with slate roof. The royal quarters have wood floors over brick, the servants quarters are just brick floors. Broken furniture, rotten carpets, tapestries and clothes, and debris blown in the the wind abound. If you wanted to start a fire, it would be very easy. Plenty of fuel and the storm is providing plenty of ventilation...
“Perhaps start a fire to draw them away? We don’t actually need to kill them, just get past them, right?” Lyle fidgets, gathering the blankets in his hands.
"Sorry to interrupt, but don't we need to get somewhere beneath the house? Which has its own escape route? Why do we need to kill goblins or orcs? And starting a fire in here when we need to find a secret passage beneath it sounds like a bad idea. Or am I missing something again?"
"To each, his own, I suppose. Lead on, Keestake." Denethir seems to stand taller, appear more confident, as he rolls his new coin through the fingers on one hand.

OCC. Couldn't turn off bold.... So part 2
The Goddess responds So be it
With that the silver light fades, and as the Fey also fades away the unnatural chill is replaced with the natural cold which has gripped the island.

Keestake, Yes, yes. We just need to get to the catacombs. We don't need that creature. Just down the hall in the other wing.

Time for the reveal
Looks like everyone is ready, so you can make your characters based on the table and chart below. If you felt I misses something, let's discuss.
The only rules for your character is 1) Keep your background story, 2) You have only the weapons and equipment you have found.
You will also see Melisena has a character (a cleric)
Here is the breakdown of possible classes
Below is the table for how to qualify for classes
