You wonder if the person who stacked these boxes was inept or drunk, as it wouldn't take very much effort for the whole mess to tumbling down on anyone trying to use the little "tunnel". And why would anyone stack and keep crates of debris. Judging by the mess around the area, they were also likely filled in place.
“Lusith, I think you may be on to somethjng. I think maybe Keestake had them set to collapse in the same way the shaft did. I could also maybe cast one of my higher level spells and burn the shaft supports, but maybe that’s not necessary.”
As you make your way into the tunnel, you spot a rusty, trip wire in the dark. One side is connected to a nail which as been driven into the brick, and the second has a nail driven into a precariously set wooden support. Tugging on the trip wire would pull the support, and many of the heavy crates would come tumbling down. The trap is amateurish and improvised, but possibly fatal.
Eurim nods as Lusith starts towards the curtain and falls in next to him. As they approach, he makes eye contact, grips the curtain, nods when Lusith is ready, and will pull it back with a tug.

Assuming the lights keep following him, Lusith is going to start moving down the south passage.
Eurim nods as Lusith starts towards the curtain and falls in next to him. As they approach, he makes eye contact, grips the curtain, nods when Lusith is ready, and will pull it back with a tug.
Lusith will ready himself in case there's anything back there, then nod to Eurim to open it.
Nicholas is resting, if possible will continue to keep dancing lights up for the explorers.
The curtain is tugged back...
