"What's that, kid? Tilden and Flatbush, you said? No problem. I'll turn on the siren and get there in 10 minutes. Tops."
Miles is as good as his word. The Ecto-3 lets out a screeching wail as the blue lights on top flash brightly. The major plows out of the busted window (Adelaide screams, "We have a GARAGE DOOR!!!") and peels up Avenue J like there's a demon behind him.
The thrill of the chase lasts about fifteen seconds before you screech to a halt in mid-day traffic. Numerous passersby cheer and wave at the Ecto-3, but nobody is moving out of your way.
Tony looks out the window, “WHY ARE WE STOPPING! JUST GET THE...” Tony squints for a moment, “Steam beetles? Weird. Anyway, just get them to move! We got a plane to save here! Come on! Let’s gooooo!”

Amaruve frowns.
Burble materializes out of his chest and floats over to examine Ruhi's PK meter which beeps and whirs like the ghosts are right here with us.
Amaruve steps out of the vehicle onto the street. Sirens blare but the traffic doesn't move. He docks his proton pack and fires it overhead down Avenue J. (Muscle, Intimidation: 18(3))
Burble materializes out of his chest and floats over to examine Ruhi's PK meter which beeps and whirs like the ghosts are right here with us.
Ruhi picks up her PKE meter and begins to mutter to herself. She frowns, then smacks the instrument once again. "...I've never seen anything like it," she whispers. "It's as though we're surrounded by possessing spirits, but that can't be possible.." Miles arches an eyebrow at her, then leans on the horn of the Ecto-3. The cabbie directly in front of him waves cheerfully and flips him the bird in response.
Amaruve steps out of the vehicle onto the street. Sirens blare but the traffic doesn't move. He docks his proton pack and fires it overhead down Avenue J. (Muscle, Intimidation: 8(2))
Miles looks up at Patrick/Amaruve as he steps out of the car. "Uh, boss? It'll just be a few minutes. Trust me, I've got this- HOLY HELL!" The smiles of the people on the street melt into masks of horror as Amaruve, the unflappable and stalwart protector of the forest, unloads his nuclear-powered laser blaster wildly into the sky. "BOSS, are you NUTS?" Miles yells. The cab driver blocking your path veers onto the sidewalk and, blasting a hot dog stand, streaks around the corner. Amaruve hops back into the car, greeted by (I assume) a shocked silence from his team.
(The way is clear! Pretty crappy roll given the number of dice, but it was enough to intimidate the one guy making your progress impossible. That said, ghost die or no ghost die, there might be a consequence for that choice down the line... Or immediately!)
As Miles begins to edge the Ecto-3 carefully around the remaining cars, you all hear the sounds of police sirens not too far away...
Jean, nonplussed at the concept of a 'traffic jam', leans out of the window and takes a look around with her camera to see what the spectral situation around them is. "Dunno about firey birds, but I sure hear something."
Jean, nonplussed at the concept of a 'traffic jam', leans out of the window and takes a look around with her camera to see what the spectral situation around them is. "Dunno about firey birds, but I sure hear something."
(Hmmmm. Roll 'Journalism' again, Jean! That will be your standard roll for spotting invisible things with your camera. Photojournalism!)
Wrecks begins to hum and the sounds of bass triplets and harmonizing guitars blare out into Teds ears as the troops bound off to fight their foe. Oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh...
Ted begins rocking out, "Righteous! Turn it up!" as the car peels away. He seems oblivious to the sirens, which may be hard to hear given the music playing. He momentarily forgets that Tony is in his lap, and jostles the kid around.
(Good news: rolling a 1 on the ghost die isn't a "ghost"; it's rolling a 6 that results in an automatic bad outcome.
Bad news:) Your view through the camera is... fuzzy. Ruhi mentioned that it would work best in the dark. However, you do get the sense that there's a kind of ghostly fog in the air... As the Ecto-3 makes its way up the street you see the vague outline of spectral figures in the fog...
You all continue to drive for a few moments, and then a thick blanket of fog covers the crowded Brooklyn avenue. The blare of car horns is muted to a distant echo. Miles and Ruhi don't make a single comment, however. The two of them appear to be in some kind of hypnotic stupor. As you drive, you pass car after car, city landmark after city landmark. Your surroundings appear very much like those that you just left, but this can't be Brooklyn any longer: the street is far, far too wide - almost like a highway! Also, the buildings are a uniform and unrelenting purple, and the shadows around you appear to be writhing and moving.
Curiously (horribly), Ruhi and Major MIles still appear to be in a hypnotic state. Their eyes are filmed in white, and they are going through their typical motions without any real emotion. Suddenly, the Ecto-3 is rocked to the side. Major Miles manages to maintain control of the steering wheel, but you skid for a moment after the two right-side wheels slam back onto the pavement. Ruhi's PKE meter lets out a shrill, tinny whistle, and then it dies...
The fog grows ever denser... And begins to glow the spookiest shade of green. The Ecto-3 stalls completely; even the headlights go dark. Miles and Ruhi remain quasi-unconscious.
A mustard yellow checkered cab pulls alongside Patrick's window. The driver's side window slowly crrreeeaaaks downward, revealing a man in a cabbie hat.
"Caaarrrrr troubblllleee?" he wheezes in a sepulcheral, breathless voice. A skeletal hands raises a lit cigarette to his unseen mouth. "Looooks like you lot neeeed a lifffffft..."
(Don't worry-that ghost die is coming, Patrick!)
(Fiorello, where the heck are you in all of this?)
Amaruve glares at the specter and hefts his proton blaster into view.
(That's not the 'bad thing' that just happened?)
To borrow terminology from Mouse Guard, I've set up a "soft move". I'll take a hard move after a few more people have a chance to avoid danger. FYI, in this game, skeletal cab drivers are definitely 'Danger'.

(Something like moves, that seem a bit more whimsical: 7 +3 )
Everything seems a slightly darker shade as the cabbie pulls up. Wrecks has a memory a little further back as he begins to hum, dum da da dum, da da dum, da da dum, da da da; dum da da dum, da da dum, da da dum, da da da, repeating for a while as he whispers to Ted in a multi-octave voice which harmonizes with itself, "All our times have come..." and the humming continues as Wrecks passes slowly through each individual in the car and then turns back to Ted, "Uh... my dude, this guy even creeps me out. Turn that thing to 11 man!"
Fiorello struggles against Wrecks, seeing the bony creature arrive. He uses what will he has to try to work through Wrecks to convince the abomination to turn away.
