So, he said all magic is allowed, right? Does that mean I could potentially cast Darkness on the other tribe’s runner while they’e Looking for keys, or is that not allowed?
Well in that scenario, the keys are more like being found with their hands, since they're underground, so it wouldn't do much in that situation. However, I'm torn between finding a good middle ground for that spell. Because it is sort of a broken spell in this case, if you cast it on the puzzle solver for example. Anyone trying to solve a puzzle in complete darkness would be difficult, so in this case they would have disadvantage on their investigation checks. So I will allow it, but I may not for future challenges, again, only in the spirit of not breaking the game and still making it as fair as possible. So yes, in this challenge darkness is available.
Toxic smirks. You heard him, to positions! You can do it LeShanna! Toxic shouts to her with a blank expression on his face, meant to be a encouraging. His hands seem to be moving rapidly, as if he’s preparing something from behind the lever.
Also, it's important to note that if you have an arcane focus and you want to cast a spell with a material component that has a set gp amount, you cannot cast that spell without the actual material. So chromatic orb for example, you would need an actual diamond to cast this spell. So please be aware of that. I will try to stay on top of that, but I may not be able to catch them all, so if anyone else notices it, please inform me or the user, you can do this in the thread or privately in PM.
Seth was listening to Von as he was describing the challenge and what each of them will have to do. He has this puzzle in the bag, only hoping that Anastasia has enough trust in him to get it done quickly before the other team does and not decide to drop the puzzle on him. He then saw as Whisper gave him an alluring but challenging smile before he responded back with his own determined smirk. He immediately thought of something that he could do to slow her down with the puzzle, but with how she has a spellbook, he was not sure if she would fall for his little Suggestion.
You can describe what you will do on your turn whenever you want, of course, it won't happen narratively until the turn order. So let's get this challenge started! You can also just state for example - I pass until X happens, like the solver getting the keys or whatever.
Toxic sits back and relaxes, smirking as he continues his hand movements. Does anyone have a familiar that might be able to Help LeShanna or Whisper? It could come in handy.
Keeping Readied action readied.
The only familiars that are available are the ones created by those in this challenge. So for example, if Stonetree had one, it could not be used unless he was in the challenge. Same goes for attacks and spells and abilities. Just clearing that up.
The blonde elf begins twirling her rapier as the sound cuts through the wind, almost in a beautiful melody. I use the bladesong as my bonus action, increasing my AC and my walking speed by 10ft., and as her action, LeShanna casts Haste which doubles her speed. Which is base 30 + 10 for blade song = 40 then doubled for haste lets me move for 80 ft this turn. And my additional action will be to dash, the extra 10 feet to get me to the first log.
Seth was watching, listening to Toxic as that gave him an idea and hoped that Anastasia also heard that. "Can you have Stolas help out Khan and I?" he then asked her, seeing Khan dash off. But he was shocked, seeing the other runner cast a spell and now go so fast that they are already at the first log. Damn it!
Stands in place, eyeing the challenge as it progress, Whisper is still smiling, but her eyes glimmer with an mischievous intelligence.
She'll spend her turn looking at the key bag and how they are tied, so that she may later know how to best untie them. (Should i roll investigation for this?)
You do not have the bags yet. They are buried underground after each log. Once the runners come back, they will then hand them to you, at which point you could begin to untie them. What the solvers see in front of them are 3 standard key locks which prevent access to the puzzle.
