Gunter? I don't believe I know him. I don't think I really need anything. But I'm about to go away on a ship for the first time. If you have anything you think might be useful, I'm willing to look.
Horgoth looks Vaken up and down at the question, clearly having something in mind. With a frown, the shop owner walks the goliath down a long row of tables, benches, open chests and display cabinets - all containing various useful or unusual objects - to a table laid out with a number of blankets, cloaks and other textiles. Taking both a black cloak and cloth blanket from the table, then picking up a pair of iron bracelets connected by a short chain, the helpful proprietor holds them out to the ship's cook saying,'
"Gunter is an old friend - a trapper, hunter and tracker of some skill and reknown in these parts. On his travels and explorations, he tends to find some very interesting things and due to our long acquaintance he usually gives me first shot at purcashing those things from him. I guess he knows as well as anyone my penchant for aquiring and collecting unusual objects.
Useful? Well, this oilskin cloak and blanket might come in handy aboard ship. Water resistant to a high quality they are, created using linseed oil and wax through a process mastered by the fishermen and seal hunters of Gundbard. What about some restraints... in case you run into anyone with angry hands or wandering fingers.
Might be some quiet times out there on the waves, so it might be worth taking something to help pass the time. I have a playing card set, or a dragonchess set, if that takes your fancy. Or some fishing tackle if you'd rather spend your leisure time doing something a little more practical.

'Her stealthy investigation bearing no fruit, and having seen one of her companions haplessly enter the tavern with the four men she found imposing enough to shy away, Kay decides she might as well enter through the front door like a regular person, try to blend in and make sure that Kestrell doesn't get himself into any trouble. She instinctively tries to pull the cowl over her head, then remembers that she left her zombie organ smelling clothes back outside the spider cave. She curses under her breath as she pushes through the front door, trying to use other people's bodies to navigate to a shadowy corner to observe the goings on of the room.'
Moving on cat-like feet down the thin, dark alley between the buildings, Kay steps from the shadows back onto the street to notice that the traffic up and down the docks and the ajoining road has increased considerably even in the score of minutes that the young rogue spend watching the tavern and scouting around the back. Following a couple of sailors walking into the fairly dirty and rundown building, Kay attempts to slink towards a corner without being noticed.
Unfortunately for the convicted killer, just as she brushes past a table with her head down, one of the table's two occupants looks up - causing Kay's eyes to meet the stare of the seated man... who the sail monkey recognises as one of the thugs that she'd battled a couple of days ago in the Pirate. Even more unfortunately, the blunt faced bully also recognises Kay, his eyes going wide as he raises a hand to point her out to his table mate, another of the group who she had tangled with. The clearly surprised man points at Kay and blurts out,'
"Her... It's her... She... The one who killed Gaut. Murderer!"
Heads all across the tavern turn in Kay's direction, as an agitated buzz of muttering begins to build around her.

"Gentelmen" says Dekket with a nod to Kail and the others and follow Kestrell to the bar.
He leans to the bar in a very relaxed demeneaor
"My friend here doesn't mean that you are involved in such things of course " says the tiefling before the man he is asking can reply " but you know that people tends to talk in bars, and specially after some fine mead like yours, so, perhaps you've heard something that could help us."

When he leans back on the bar, the hood falls back on Dekket's head, and for the first time since he has entered the tavern his demonic features are visible. Red skin, the two horns that goes back and slightly up on his head, the pointy upper tooths, and the sudden movement of his tail when he realizes that the hodd is down ruined all his attempts to keep his nature hidden. He smiles at Kestrell and the bartender, as if everything were normal.

Klain just shrugs and nods, clearly nonplused at what slang Kestrell uses. Looking across at the table where A'ro is sitting and speaking with one of four men, the navigator notices a conversation taking place that seems to involve a game of dice, which soon begins to be played on the tabletop, as copper coins are slid from each man into the growing pile in the centre of the table. Kes continues to make small talk with Klain and his two companions as he watches his shipmate over the refinery worker's shoulders.
Not long has passed when Kes also notices Kay's attempt to quietly and discreetly enter the tavern, which seems to go unnoticed for the most part... until the young sailor passes the table where Brut and his other thuggish friend were sitting. Even as Kestrell sighs in expectation at what might be coming, the blunt-faced man points at his shipmate and shouts her identity in an accusatory fashion for the whole tavern to hear. The perceptive bard straight away notices the tension that envelops the bar as the buzz of resentful muttering amongst many of the seedy tavern's patrons begins to build.

Most of the men at the table sit quietly drinking their ales while Ned explains the rules of the game to 'Ro'...
So you see, Ro? It's much like any number of other tavern games. This one's taken originally from an Amnian card game, I believe. So... you ready to play? It's my turn to roll first, so I'm First. Since you're sitting to my left, you're Next. The two of us have to put in two copper this round, then it's two copper each following round before the roll of the dice. Clear?
We can discuss putting up the ante next game. Only fair to let you have a low stakes practice game first, after all."
Hardly waiting for Ro's assent, Ned throw's two copper pieces in the pot and with a motion for the genasi to do the same, throws the five dice: 39148
With a smile, Ned says,'
"Not great, but that's the way the dice go sometimes. Your turn..."
[OOC] It's a bit labour intensive, but just put the five individual 1d12 rolls next to each other separated by a couple of spaces.

Kay raises her hands and says, "P... peace f...fellows. I j... just want a d... drink, s...s...same as you." She edges her way to the bar, keeping her hands up, her eyes darting back and forth, attempting to be wary of any potential dangers.
A'ro just smiles as he looks at the group and tossed in the necessary amount "Ri'ht le's se' if I g't t'is r'ght." He then picked up he dice and rolled them across the table hoping for the best. He just watched as the dice rolled "Lo'ks 'ike do'bles."

The black-haired man named Ned grimaces somewhat at your roll, before snarling,'
"Not bad, but it's early days yet. You forgot to put your 2 copper in as well. You're Next, meaning that like me, you have to put the ante in no matter what. So lads... you in or out?"
At that, the other three men all mutter in displeasure, but reluctantly each throw two copper into the growing pot as they take turns rolling the dice:

He throws four copper into the pot before picking up just the 8 to reroll ‘play it carefully, bridge the gap to early or to late and they’ll get suspicious of you’. He thinks to himself as he rolls, this was not easy.

Ned leans in a little closer as if trying to better decipher Ro's thick, broken accent, though the hard faced man chuckles darkly at the results of the genasi's roll even as his three tablemates all throw in another 2 copper each and make their rolls:
Shawn: Kept; 6 , 6Rerolls: 895
Bailey: Kept; 11 , 9 , 12Rerolls: 49
Maggot: Kept; 1, 1Rerolls: 583
A chorus of muttered curses follow the dice rolls around the table as the other three men seem no more pleased with their luck than Ro or Ned. Looking up from the table for a moment, Ro notices a fairly steady stream of patrons entering and leaving the now quite packed tavern.

At Kail's admonishing to keep his voice down Kestrell replies: "Oh, sorry!" And then continues "Piss-farts, that's a good one! I've heard a lot in my days at sea, but haven't heard Piss-farts before. I might have to use it, if that's alright with you?"
[OOC]Kestrell makes more small talk to give A'ro time to work his magic. If A'ro looks like he is finishing up without needing assistance, Kestrell will turn to Dekket: "Well we better get back on the road. Follow me to the bar while I make sure our tab is paid." To Kain: "It's been a pleasure, I'm glad we were able to get past the events of yesterday." Kestrell nods at the rest of the group. "Gentlemen."
Kestrell walks to the bar and says to either Buck, Earl, or Barney Barney whoever happens to be there: "Alright, we are heading out, are we all paid up?" Then he will lean in and ask quietly: "We are looking for some missing ship supplies. Do you know of anyone we should talk to about how to track them down? At this point, we just want to get them back and will pay for them."
Persuasion if needed: 7
Inspiration on that Persuasion: 9
"Gentelmen" says Dekket with a nod to Kail and the others and follow Kestrell to the bar.
He leans to the bar in a very relaxed demeneaor
"My friend here doesn't mean that you are involved in such things of course " says the tiefling before the man he is asking can reply " but you know that people tends to talk in bars, and specially after some fine mead like yours, so, perhaps you've heard something that could help us."
( Hope this counts as Help so Kestrell can roll with advantage. If a roll for Dekket's part is needed: Persuasion: 10 )
PbP Character: A few ;)

Hardly waiting for Ro's assent, Ned throw's two copper pieces in the pot and with a motion for the genasi to do the same, throws the five dice: 3 9 1 4 8
With a smile, Ned says,'
"Not great, but that's the way the dice go sometimes. Your turn..."
[OOC] It's a bit labour intensive, but just put the five individual 1d12 rolls next to each other separated by a couple of spaces.
*FYI - Kay's entrance and the furore happens at the end of the first game.

Kay raises her hands and says, "P... peace f...fellows. I j... just want a d... drink, s...s...same as you." She edges her way to the bar, keeping her hands up, her eyes darting back and forth, attempting to be wary of any potential dangers.
~♡~

Shawn: 10 3 5 10 6
Bailey: 2 12 7 9 11
Maggot: 3 3 10 9 9

Smiling at Ro, Ned throws another two copper into the pot, saying as he rolls just two of the five dice again,'
"As things stand now, you have the best of it, Ro. Beginner's luck maybe, eh? Let's see, shall we..."
1, 3, 5 kept - rolls: 5 8
The black haired man sighs dramatically at his apparently terrible luck, as he looks at Ro and says,'
"Well... can't say that helped much. I assume that you'll continue on?"

“Ri’ht m’ ba’ mate. ‘Errs fo’r copp’r ‘or buy in an’ ante.”
He throws four copper into the pot before picking up just the 8 to reroll ‘play it carefully, bridge the gap to early or to late and they’ll get suspicious of you’. He thinks to himself as he rolls, this was not easy.
A’ro chuckles a little at the mention of beginners luck
“Na’ mate an’ luck I ha’ wen’ out the door af’er this las’ jobs blund’r. Now I’m ju’t se’rchin’ f’r some coin.” He says waiting to see what the dice roll.

Ned leans in a little closer as if trying to better decipher Ro's thick, broken accent, though the hard faced man chuckles darkly at the results of the genasi's roll even as his three tablemates all throw in another 2 copper each and make their rolls:
Shawn: Kept; 6 , 6 Rerolls: 8 9 5
Bailey: Kept; 11 , 9 , 12 Rerolls: 4 9
Maggot: Kept; 1, 1 Rerolls: 5 8 3
A chorus of muttered curses follow the dice rolls around the table as the other three men seem no more pleased with their luck than Ro or Ned. Looking up from the table for a moment, Ro notices a fairly steady stream of patrons entering and leaving the now quite packed tavern.
