(OOC: Tyrus, still using your previous one so if something comes up that changes will let you know)
The barkeep seems to be being truthful about the rooms in his establishment. There are indeed worse places to stay within the Field Ward of the city, but the establishment seems aimed at people on a budget. One of the rooms are out of action and has been since the Anchor lodged in the roof made a hole in the ceiling. The other rooms contain just a basic bed and chest and basic furnishings.
As Tyrus continues listening to the other patrons, they seem to be keeping themselves to themselves at this point, not wanting to get any more involved within the new arrival's business. Looking around, nobody new seems to come in and the place remains quiet even into the early evening.
Arlon doesn't notice anything out of the ordinary within the bar, but from where he sits he can see that the closest way to Candle Lane from here would be down Zastrow Street, past the Old Xoblob Shop.

With you in the room is the barkeep and four patrons, a ship's captain, and three dock workers. When the barkeep walks, you can hear the sound of wood knocking on wood suggesting he has a wooden leg.
While waiting for something to happen, Tyrus begins to wonder why an important person like a ship's captain is here talking with mere dock workers and not say, other sailors, dock officials, or perhaps even merchants wanting to talk business. With this question in mind, can he work out why these four are together [Insight roll, if needed: 10 ]?

Looking at the room, the captain seems to be on his own table enjoying a drink alone, not with the other dock workers - though he does seem to be treated like a regular and nobody pays him any mind.
Briga runs out of topics to discuss with herself, realizing the information gathering is complete and she managed to stay out of the way for the entirety of it. She walks over to Griff and asks quietly - for Briga - if the intention is to pursue the lead on Floon immediately, or in the morning.
"Griff, are we checking out where Floon and Neverember went now? Or were you thinking in the morning? Renting rooms and all, I wasn't sure. The guy could be in real trouble if people were following him, but if you think we're all too smacked up from that little incident at the Yawning Portal, I get that. Whatever happened to Floon happened two days ago, so it might be too late, in any case."
OOC: For those of us who are Waterdeep residents, is there any check to know if we might be familiar with a warehouse on Candle Ln with a snake symbol on the door?
Briga nods repeatedly and makes affirmative noises. "Ready! Let's go be heroes again." She will head to the warehouse on Candle Lane with the others as soon as they are ready to depart.
(OOC: It would be a straight intelligence check to see if you know about it, however, it's not exactly missable so just searching you will find it easily).
IC: Heading past the Old Xoblob Shop down Zastrow Street, after reaching the end of the road Candle Lane is the next road to the north. Gloom envelops a narrow alley as dark as a dungeon - and as odorous as one, too. Nearly all the streetlamps have been smashed. The only light that pierces the darkness is a faint flickering from down the lane, like a distant candle.
When you reach the light, opposite on the other side of the street is a Warehouse. Being illuminated by the lamp across the street is a black winged snake painted above the door handle on a large gate, and a high fence extends both ways from the gate to the building which itself looks quite run-down. The building has a high (about 15 feet tall) fence that starts at the northern side of the building, running south and then east into another part of the building, creating a yard which is blocked off by a large 12-foot-high gate.
Above the door handle on the wooden gate, the light from the streetlamp catches the symbol of a winged snake.
"This is the place, alright. Maybe Floon and the Neverember guy went in here. You guys think we should go all Red Knight style, see how many entrances there are to this place and, like, scout it out, first?"
Briga seems to be making an effort to sound well informed on strategy and tactics, as if seeking the approval of her more thoughtful companions. Despite her barbaric upbringing, she doesn't seem over eager to rush headlong into a bad situation.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Briga attempts to move quietly, crouching to be less visible, looking and listening for any signs of movement or activity within, any and all entrances to the facility, as well as for any traps or ambushes.
Having a look around, you notice that the gate into the yard is unlocked, but the door at the street level is locked from the inside. It is also on the street and you can see a city watchman turning the corner as your looking. He doesn't seem to notice you looking around, or if he did he didn't seem bothered. It was hard to tell which, and in any other ward, seeing a lone watchman was an odd site. In the Dock Ward, it's a more common occurrence to see lone guards on patrol, as if the city didn't pay as much concern to this ward than the Castle Ward or the Sea Ward.
The gate leads into a yard where there is a window that is painted over and there are two doors - a large warehouse door for loading and a smaller door which has a sliding peephole that doesn't look like it can be opened from this side. Both of the doors and the window are locked, but the lock is accessible from the outside.
Briga returns to the others and describes the layout as she saw it. "So we've got a window, two doors, and only of of them looks like it's an entrance. Door's locked but the lock is on the outside. How do you guys want to enter?"
OOC: Did she hear or see anyone inside? Or no, because the window was painted over?
"As a bounty hunter, here in Waterdeep, I learned how to pick locks and approach quietly, to seize a criminal before they bolt. Uh, problem is while in theory I could try to pick the lock, I don't have the tools. They're expensive, a locksmith kit, or 'thieves tools' as the criminal side call them."
Briga frowns, "So Griff can't pick it, how about either of you, Tyrus, Arlon? Either of you have thieves tools and know how to use them?"
"Here is a few ideas I'm just going to rattle off: we could probably go buy some locksmith tools, a place like Waterdeep, shouldn't be too hard to find... We just came into all that gold that Volo gave us. One of us could break that window while the rest of us wait out back, hidden and after they all come out to see what the commotion is, we could sneak inside. Or we just knock. We don't know if they have Floon, so before we go in there busting heads we might want to do a little more homework here. Maybe grease their palms. Seems like a little gold loosens a lot of lips in this city. Pay them a modest amount and collect a much larger reward from Volo later."

Briga weighs in: "I'd feel terrible if something bad happened to someone because I went to go shopping. I'll buy thieves tools after this. And probably bolts for this crossbow, it's kind of useless now. But for the immediate future, I think going in a window sounds like a good compromise. Maybe have some people at each exit so no one bolts?"

“Maybe you’re right...”
Griff lays a hand on his chest and radiant energy glows from his hand to his heart. (Healing 4 - 1 lay on hands left)

He lingers a bit farther to see if they are being followed .. Other than by himself.

Arlon looks at the others, knowing he isn't really good at stealth.
" I ll stay here, " he points toward a back alley across the street from the entrance" and keep an eye while you search."

Griff, looks around at his partners. "Well we can try knockin'... Or maybe we could wait. See what happens?"
