(OOC: It won't often be as much as yesterday; I happened to have more free time in the day than usual, and I guess others did too. :) Omnia has been standing guard in the street; she's noticed a few people passing by, but they've avoided approaching her, seemingly wary of strangers.
Nate has been remaining quiet (still embarrassed of the noise he made initially in the hallway...) and watches as the more intellectual folk discuss the matters at hand. Nate is happy to see Sildar again and also agrees to partner up with the two new adventurers to rid the town of the Redcloaks. He sends an approving nod over at Delmon and Leo - clearly these two can handle themselves and we will need all of the help we can get with these tasks.
"Sildar... will you be joining us when we head to the Manor? Also - all of this gold talk reminded me... do you have our gold for accompanying you here to Phandalin?"Nate says this quite awkwardly. He's been thinking about it since we got to town, hence why he's been keeping quiet now that the more outgoing folks are leading the way.
"Ok it's settled then. I am going to go and pay a visit to Sister Garaele and then head to the Lionhead to get some equipment." Nate then sees Brom who seems excited about the Loin marking boxes (seems more excited about the gold!) "Sure thing Brom that sounds great. I am going to make my way over there now as well to grab some equipment after I see Sister Garaele. Do they have any good stuff?"
Nate then heads out of the Townhall, over to Omnia. "Hey - still all good out here? I am going to head over to the Lionhead, I think Brom was saying there's some weapons and equipment there - we might be able to get top dollar for the stuff we found on those Redcloaks. Wanna come?"
If Omnia decides to come with Nate, we will go to the Lionhead first. If not, Nate will go alone to Sister Garaele's shrine.
OOC: I also will be not posting as much starting tomorrow - cottage vacation for a week! I will still be posting daily (hopefully), just not multiple times a day until I am back.
OOC: Also just a reminder make sure you have added the gold and sp/cp to your char sheets that we split up earlier I think it's a few pages back (pre Leo/Delmon joining).
I have the new pot started as well (post Leo/Delmon joining) which we will split up after the Manor I was thinking.
((OOC: Makes sense to me Klein, easier to have a communal money pool... I'm currently dipping in and out of this thread at work at the moment, shall wait for other people to respond before responding in character again!))
Ophirinn nods at Leo, then turns to Nate "I will be heading with you to Sister Galaele, I want to know what she wanted to talk to us about. Might be best we all go."
OOC - So the way I see it is we are going to the sister, then weapon shop, then depending on time of day, the inn, and then discuss which mission to go on first; either Lions/Redbrands/Mine or Redbrands/Lions/Mine. Also I was posting more because I had a day off work.
Nate looks up at Ophirinn and smiles "Sounds good to me."
Nate then starts to think about Gundren Rockseeker again and the lost mine with the magical artifact. Still talking to Ophirinn: "Hopefully this Redbrand Manor can somehow point us in the direction of Gundren's location."
OOC: Yep that's exactly what I was thinking too! And we may also get some new quests from the Sister - let's see :)
Nate, Sildar gives you a grin. Patience, lad. Patience. Ah, here he comes now.
The Townmaster, frowning and muttering under his breath, returns to the room carrying a large pouch and a small pouch, and gives them both to Sildar. Sildar thanks him and hands the smaller pouch to Nate. It contains fifty gold pieces, as was promised. You saved my life and brought me to Phandalin, Sildar says, and you all have my thanks again. But Phandalin is not as safe as we had all hoped, and it seems there is much to do here as well. I'm afraid I won't be joining you. If what happened with the goblins has shown anything, it is that I am not the fighter I used to be. Nevertheless, I will gladly pay from my funds to remove the Redbrand threat, and if you can learn the fate of Iarno, I will pay 100 gold for that as well.
(It is probably simpler if you don't split up, but it's up to you. Where will you go next?)
Nate blushes and thanks Sildar for the coins. Nate then gives Brom, Ophirinn and Omnia their share of the money (See below. let's do this now because this was "Pre Leo/Delmon")
"I understand. We will let you know once we determine the fate of Iarno and remove these blasted Redbrands." Nate shakes Sildar's hand and then heads out with the others and walks over to Sister Garaele's shrine. Nate will walk in likely with Ophirinn: "Sister Garaele? Greetings... we have returned... and are interested in what you had in mind for us."
"Hey Nate, Yeah its all quite out here, every one is still very skittish though. The Lionshead sounds good to me, I also wouldn't mind trying to see if there is a thieves guild in this place always good for me to make a few contacts. I know we are a bit further inland but there might be someone who has heard a rumor about my former ship, its probably a long shot but always worth checking out"
You enter the shrine together. It's clear, on closer inspection, that this is not an old ruin; rather, it has been assembled from stones taken from the ruins that are dotted around town, but the shrine is actually well built, and the space inside is pleasant and light. There are a number of wooden stools dotted around the small shrine; your group is able to fit inside comfortably, but many more would be a squeeze. A small fire in the corner appears to be brewing some tea. Sister Garaele welcomes you and invites you all to sit, then joins you.
So, she begins, how did your meeting with the Townmaster go?
Leo looks around solemnly at the group, before leaning forward towards Sister Garaele and lowering his voice a little, " The ongoing situation regarding the Redbrands was discussed. My companions and I were tasked with remedying the situation, if you get my meaning?"
Continuing on Leo's face adopts a grim look of determination looking Sister Garaele directly in the eyes, "Please Sister, are there anyways you may be of assistance, in terms of information or items that might help towards this goal?"
Nate watches on as Leo very politely greets and questions Sister Garaele. During a pause in the conversation, Nate says: "Sister, you mentioned earlier that you wanted to speak with us and I am quite curious as to the reasons that you might have?
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Fruitful, is it? laughs Sister Garaele. I'm not sure anyone has ever had a 'fruitful' meeting with Harbin the Hopeless. Still, don't think I don't appreciate a diplomatic turn of phrase. In small doses. She eyes Leo, and then grins and looks back at Nate.
Yes. I would like you to rid the town of the Redbrands. They are thieves and murderers, this much we know. They are bandits and slavers, too, or at least so I believe. People have gone missing. And poor Thel Dendrar was cut down in the street, murdered in front of witnesses and not a thing anyone can do about it. And his family has gone missing. So if you can, please find them, or find what happened to them.
I have another quest, but it will take you out of town, so I will tell you more once the town is safe. Please, tell me you will rid us of the Redbrands, and this 'Glasstaff' if he really exists. I do not have much to offer in the way of a reward, but I believe the town as a whole will reward you, and more than whatever Harbin has offered, if he offered anything at all.
For aid, I can offer you some healing now, though my abilities are very limited. She casts a spell on Brom and then on Ophirinn. Brom is healed for 7, and Ophirinn for 7. I also have this to offer, and she produces one Potion of Healing, which she hands to Leo.

Delmon pipes in, almost speaking to no one. "That one red cloak.. he was running to get more help, was he not?" He peers down to town roads for any signs of red cloaks in the town. "Just want to ensure help wasn't too close."
"Good point Delmon, we do not yet know how deep this Redbrand infestation runs."
Leo takes Sister Garaele by the hands, and again looks deeply into her eyes, "Worry not good Sister, my companions and I shall do everything in our power to restore law and order to this town." he smiles slightly, "Thank you for your help. We shall try and keep an eye out for Thel's family - how many people are missing?"
Delmon, you look up and down the street. There's no sign of anyone wearing a red cloak, though a few townsfolk have come to stare at the bodies of the dead Redbrands lying next to the shrine.
Delmon turns back to the group gathered by Sister Garaele, "Well, it appears we are safe. If we plan to find the missing people we may want to do it quickly, who knows what state they are in. I'm sure with a reputation for killing on the streets in broad day light, survivors' fates can't be good. The sooner we find them, the better our chances of finding them alive."
