"Just death. Dark and death. Everywhere. And, well... there's also the voices... IN OUR HEADS. Do you... do you hear them Ophirinn? How about all of you guys - do you hear this stuff!?I am getting very creeped out and I think we should leave, right now. Find the Redbrands, kill 'em and get the hell out of here."
Nate points again to the lower SW passageway. He doesn't feel embarrassed anymore about the voices since he knows Leo can hear them too. He starts hitting his head with his empty hand (lightly, but hard enough to make a noise) trying to get the voices to stop.
Leo whispers to Nate, "Come on Nate, you can handle this... don't let the situation get the better of you."
Raising his voice, he addresses Ophirinn, "Nothing at the moment! There is definitely something more to these Redbrands than we first thought... something sinister lurks here."
You all see part of the creature, its spiny back turned in your direction, as it reaches out a long arm with sharp talons and the hand, pierces the food and draws it behind the stone. You hear chewing. Food, yes, but not fresh. Tell a little. Many red men here. A hand points west and east. Prisoners here. It points east. Leader here. It points to the north-west passage. You go now, yes? Or more food? Better food? Fresh food? Live food?
Nate looks over to Leo and gives him a nod as he reels in his fear and gets himself together (somewhat). He has appreciated Leo's guidance and thinks he could be a great mentor. He is a bit in awe as Leo starts actively communicating with this thing - and then it shows a glimpse of its spiny back and then Nate is completely freaked out again. He's trying his best not to peace out of the cavern and tunnel altogether, but then glances at Leo and grips his torch tightly and reels it in again.
Nate looks over to Ophirinn and Leo "....um... it wants us to feed it LIVE food?!"
Omnia then pipes in, also trying to ease Nate. "Hey, why don't we go and kill some Redbrands and bring their corpses to feed whatever the heck this thing is? It would serve them well and also keep this... well whatever it is happy for the time being. Heck we could even bring it a live one... heh heh heh... Also, did I hear him say there's prisoners here? We should keep our eyes open for them. Can we go now? This thing is starting to creep me out."
Nate looks at Omnia like she's nuts but agrees with her.
Omnia moves over and gestures Leo and Ophirinn and the others to that bottom west passage to take the lead (not the one that the creature suggested we go)
Delmon was totally entranced by the entire affair. It was much to take in, what power did this creature have to talk directly into his mind. He did not like it but for now it doesn't seem threatening.
OOC: Can I do a History check to see if I have heard any stories/legends of strange creatures capable of talking directly into your mind that lurk in dark caves? 12
"Let us not forget why we are here to begin with, we sent the red cloaks out so that we may retrieve surviving prisoners, right?" He then looks over to the rock the strange creature lurks behind. "If we trust this.. being, then I suggest we head west, then east and save as many survivors as we can. Feeding it.. live meat.. is not something I'd be willing to do. Best we keep vigilant on our surroundings while we remain here. Thank you, strange creature, for the information you've provided. Are there any more of your kind within these caves?" Delmon asks as he begins rummaging through his pack for some dried meat in his rations.
Delmon, there are lots strange creatures that live underground. You've no particular knowledge of anything resembling this creature, though you haven't got a clear view of it yet.
Whispering to Nate, "I should not have thought this would be permanent, I think it might only work one way as well. Do you think we can trust this creature?"
Nate whispers back to Leo, "I guess we'll find out when we leave this cavern... It's really creeping me out. I definitely don't think we can trust this thing. Might be best to just give it the rations and then be done with it."
Ophirinn looks over at Nate and Leo "You see anything?"

Do they want the red men? I know of the red men. You all here this voice clearly in your minds. Shall I tell you? I might, but I am so hungry now.
Ophirinn feels a chill, "What ever it is that is communicating with us doesn't feel right. I think we should move on."
Leo nods his head subtly at Ophirinn, holding his hands up placatingly.
"Hungry... you want food? I have rations?!"
Leo shrugs at Ophirinn.

Food, yes. Meat. Give me meat! Fresh meat is nice.
Surprised that his offer of rations worked, Leo is going to ferret around in his bag. He finds some dry, cured meat and holds it up in the air.
"There's meat here! Wh-where should I p-put it?"
Leo gives a pained, nervous look to the rest of the party.

Leo, a hand appears from behind the rock to your north. Give give give. It's within easy throwing distance.
Leo throws the meat, purposefully missing the hand and aiming for just in front of the rock.
"T-take it. I-it's y-yours! W-what can you t-t-tell us about these Re-red-br-brands?"

Nate then says (mostly to Leo): "Guys I wonder how long this thing has the telepathic link to our minds.... what if it's permanent!?"
<starts to get visibly worried again being around this creature.>
Delmon, there are lots strange creatures that live underground. You've no particular knowledge of anything resembling this creature, though you haven't got a clear view of it yet.
Delmon, please make a Deception check.
No more questions. More food, more answers. You hear scurrying, and suspect that the creature has moved away, but you didn't see anything.

"I agree. We do not know the motives of this creature - is it in league with the Redbrands? We should be very careful how we proceed."
With that Leo will slowly creep towards the Northwest of the cavern.
