The creature shrugs, "Don't know much about him personally... He just has what I came for. I was actually hoping you'd take care of him for me. I didn't plan on attacking Grom here either... but then we found her," nodding his head at Corkie.
Rees gritted her teet as Talien left her side, a momentary flash of guilt spiking through her. She'd apologize later, assuming she got the chance. "So you're just a coward, then. Are you working with the other doppelganger who took her place? How many of you are there?"
No Alten, you are no problem. We just have a schedule to iPhone or had everyone forgotten that? 1 hour here and there will make a half day fast. I will not be attacking You unless You attack me like Chatra creature did Grom.
Huh? We should still be fairly early, right? Goblins tripped the alarm first thing in the morning (6am). Chased them, killed them in 3 rounds, took an hour break (7, 730am). Came in here. Found Corkey, Trick, and the kobolds. Spent a few minutes getting them free. Call it half an hour. Simultaneously Grom and Chatra go out, Grom gets bonked, 30 second fight. We bring Chatra in here. Interrogation and arguing. Even if it is an hour, isn't in 9am? Even if you throw in another hour exploring, it's still 10am? Am I forgetting or missing something?
And what is the auto correct? Alten says "I know not this iPhone. Is that something from your realm?"

Rees will hand the translated note to Alten, still staring at the creature. "And what of the outcast?"

The creature looks annoyed that you ran across Corkie. His expression gives you a vibe that Corkie pissed in the creature's cherrios, or ruined his parade.
"What does she have to do with anything?" Arxius frowns, looking at Corkie. Up until this moment she's not really taken much notice of her.
Corkie pipes up when you look at her, "Maybe my "twin" as Alten calls it has something to do with this creatures plans and finding the real me has spoiled them?"

What is it you came for? The apple or something else?
And explain how finding her leads you to the decision to attack Grom?
insight 18 on the whole story as it relates to Corkie. Does it make sense and does Alten believe him?

"How should I know how many of my kind there are? Do you know how many elves, dwarves, or gnomes there are? Who's to say." The creature says with a grin.

"I came for the same thing you did.. Why do you think I tagged along with you? It seemed like the easiest way to get the wand."
DM Note: Some parts of the story make sense. The creature doesn't appear to be lying to you... though it is certainly omitting facts. You do have some evidence though... in Rees procession.
"It's in the note, Alten," she says, nodding to the translated not she handed him. "I translated it, planned on sharing it with everyone this morning but this happened instead. He was working with the ratman and others to get the wand and trying to cause problems here in the citadel."
Translated note:
Scratch,
Go to the Sunless Citadel near Oakhurst. Retrieve the wand of entanglement from the Outcast. Do so at all costs.
Intel suggests two factions currently run the Citadel. Find a way to sow discourse and create a distraction if need be. Rendezvous at the village’s shrine in Oakhurst on the day of the Midsummer festival – we have placed an operative there who will be waiting for you.

"Arrghhh... You *****!" The creature spits venomously at Rees.
Rees narrows her eyes head cocked to the side. "You're nowhere near done, friend. Codul dvs nu are valoare aici."
"Știi limba umbrelor, atunci știi dacă îmi spun că soarta mea va fi mai rea decât moartea. Nu mă pot ascunde de superiorii mei în ciuda multor fețe. Doar ucide-mă și termină cu asta."
You know the language of the shadows, then you know if I speak my fate will be worse than death. I cannot hide from my superiors despite my many faces. Just kill me and get it over with.
"I do know the language, which is why you should trust me when I say you have other options than death. I found them. Tell us what we want to know and perhaps I can help you find other options as well."
The creature laughs again, "You have obviously only scratched the surface of what I speak of... You are young... You will learn... If you live long enough to avoid the Iron Hand." As the doppelgänger finishes speaking his face suddenly starts twitching and vibrating once again. This time the skin shrinks down instead of stretching as the creature resumes the form of Chatra. As his hands and wrists go rubbery and shrink to a smaller size the creature slips out of the manacles and suddenly leaps to its feet and makes for the door.
DM Note: Keeping the same initiative as combat. I would say everyone, but Talien and Grom would get an AoO.
Creature: [AC 14; HP 8/56; Init: 23]. Movement: 1/2 Used to get up from prone. Trick: [AC: 13; HP: 15/15; Init: 22]. Corkie: [AC: 13; HP: 27/27; Init: 18]. Arxius: [AC 14; HP 18/18; Init 15]. Trick drops to the ground and begins drumming on the stone in a fast rhythm. Weaving magic into every beat, "I'd like to leave you with one thought...but I'm not sure you have anywhere to put it!" vicious mockery
EDIT: You can only make melee attack as an AoO. Oops. Disregard this post. I refuse to punch him and do not have my weapon, so I'll pass on this one. Trick will still shout the insult. Because why not.
