Alten will step in as well, moving off to which ever side of the room he happens to be on. He will take a moment to scan his half of the room, looking for any other beings, creatures, or obvious dangers.
He'll motion to Talien to enter and move over to the other side. The he tries to communicate with Talin by using a typical hand signal of pointing to his own two eyes and then sweeping the two fingers out, moving them back and forth out over the room.

"Easy-" Arxius says, she leans back and holds her hands up. Fingers spread. "Not going to hurt you."
The figure slowly lowers the blanket revealing a pair of bright yellow cat-like eyes set into a red scaly draconic looking head. Back still against the wall the creature stares at you wide eyed and wearily asks again, "Wh--who der?"

You enter the room and scan the south side. There aren't any creatures in the cage. There also doesn't appear to be any traps, or other dangers present. Talien takes the north side of the room sees only the fire pit. It appears the party is alone in the room with the creature before Arxius.
When the creature see's Talien and Alten get closer it wails, slides its back down the wall lower to the ground, and pulls the blanket over its head once more. "Ahhh.. don't hurt me!" The creature is visibly frightened.

"Get back a moment, boys," Arxius says over her shoulder, her eyes never leaving the creature.
She holds a hand out towards her. "My name is Arxius. I will not hurt you. Nor will my friends."
The creature lowers the blanket again slightly as Arxius says friends, then it cocks its head and squeaks, “Arx-ee-us... Friend. Me Meepo.”
Meepo opens his mouth again as if to tell you more just as Ungrim takes flight holding the glowing stick. He jumps up from the bedroll excitedly and starts to do an odd sort of a dance. He yells in a shrill voice, “Ooo.. bright light! Flying. Flying. Meepo like!” And stares fixated on Ungrim as he flies over to the symbols on the wall.
Arxius as Meepo now that Meepo is out of his bedroll you can see that he is some sort of draconic looking humanoid. He is covered in red scales with black tips and has a lighter colored underbelly. You also notice Meepo has numerous scars across his body. The scars appear to be claw marks.

“Un—grim.” Meepo says as if chewing on the word. Then he squeaks, “Bird. Yes! Yes! Meepo like! Meepo friends with bird?” (This guy voice is like fingernails on a chalkboard btw).
With each word Arxius feels as though something is digging into her brain. Her muscles tense as she tries to endure it. “I’m sure we can all be friends,” she says gently. “What are you doing here, Meepo?”
You have heard tell, or seen a drawing of this type of creature at some point in your past. You recognize it as a kobold.
“Kobolds are often dismissed as cowardly, foolish, and weak, but these little reptilian creatures actually have a strong social structure that stresses devotion to the tribe, are clever with their hands, and viciously work together in order to overcome their physical limitations.
In the kobolds’ version of a perfect world, the creatures would be left alone to dig their tunnels and raise the next generation of kobolds, all the while seeking the magic that will free their imprisoned god Kurtulmak. In the world they occupy, kobolds are often bullied and enslaved by larger creatures — or, when they live on their own, they are constantly fearful of invasion and oppression. Although individually they are timid and shy away from conflict, kobolds are dangerous if cornered, vicious when defending their eggs, and notorious for the dangerous improvised traps they use to protect their warrens.”

Meepo smiles a toothy grin when Arxius says “friends” again, but visibly shrinks once more as she asks him what he is doing in the room. Tears begin to well up at the corner of Meepo’s eyes as he says, “Meepo is clan’s Keeper. But, Meepo banished now! Those wretched goblins stole Calcryx! Stole our god they did! Oh Meepo so ashamed!”
Meepo begins crying again. This time so hard he starts to choke and starts gulping for air.
The shape jumps, recoils closer to the wall, seems to curl up into a ball, then pulls the blanket over its head.
"Ahhhh.. w--whoo's der?" the creature wails in a shrill and reedy voice.
