Kiric suspects that this door has special significance to the dragon cult, but exactly what you're not sure.
Heia opens the door with her quarterstaff...
This 10-foot-square chamber is hewn from stone. It contains an upright keg fashioned of rusted iron. Similarly rusted pipes lead from the keg into the floor.
"Let's remember there's that keg there, who knows if it might be part of some other system or riddle in this place." Soar heads to the door at the end of the hall and peeks in.
Crudely executed symbols and glyphs, scribed in bright green dye, decorate this large and irregularly shaped crumbling chamber. A large pit in the chamber's center shows evidence of a recent bonfire. A metallic cage in the center of the southern wall contains a gaping hole and stands empty. A small wooden bench draped with green cloth stands before the cage, upon it sits several small objects. A bedroll lies near the wooden bench, from which the sound of whimpering is plainly audible.
Soar goes over to the bedroll and as gently as she can, says "hello? do you need help? can we rescue you? we mean no harm."
(Would this be persuasion? Or some other kind of charm-based roll? Soar is trying to seem not threatening and open, hoping she found one of the adventurers and not wanting to scare or spook them.)
Asmodai stealthily looks in every nook and cranny without waking the diminutive sleeper. On the bench are four jade dragon figurines, a paintbrush with goblin-hair bristles, and a bucket of bright green dye; in bright green dye is written the words "Here there be dragons" in Draconic. There is another jade dragon figurine in the ashes of the firepit. In the broken cage, droppings not of any mundane creature.
Soar meanwhile gently wakes the diminutive sleeper. In Draconic: "No, not the dragon, plea- HUH?", then seeing you and guessing you may not understand Draconic, switches to Common: "Who are you? I- Help? Yes, I need help!" The kobold, for that is what he is, jumps up out of his bedding with sudden excitement. He looks the party over. "Yes! You are big and strong! You can rescue Calcryx!" His tail wags from side to side. "We must tell Lady Yusdrayl!"
"Oh!" Soar exclaims after the kobold comes out of the bed. She tries to remember the list of adventurers they're trying to rescue and she's pretty sure that this individual doesn't fit the bilBut he seems nice and at least not dangerous.
"You seem nice. And not dangerous. I'm Soar. What's your name? We're here to find some people who came in here about a month ago and haven't come back. Have you seen them? Who's Calcryx? Maybe we can help. Did it live in that cage? Or get taken by whatever was in that cage? And who's Lady Yusdrayl? What happened here? I'm sure you can help us figure this place out."
(Soar is distracted with the kobold and doesn't notice Asmodai's flagrant theft either.)
The kobold introduce himself. "I am Meepo. Dragon Master!" He says with pride, that then turns to sorrow. "Or, I was. A big antlered goblin came and stole our dragon, Calcryx! Calcryx lived in that cage over there, but the goblin bent the bars and grabbed him! Meepo was so helpless... But maybe you are big and strong enough to get him back! We must let our leader Yusdrayl know!" He then stops and thinks. "We haven't been here long, we are new here from the deep down under; maybe a dozen or two sleeps, we haven't seen any other tall folk, other than the giant goblin. Sorry!" He then insists again, "Please follow me, I will take you to Yusdrayl's dragon throne!"

The door is quite difficult to unlock, but Asmodai manages it. Do you look inside the ornate door, or head to the one at the end of the hallway?
"Well guys, I've got the door unlocked. Do we want to go in?"

"Anyone know what the water dragon things mean?"
"Sign for the bathroom?"
Heia slinks over beside Asmodai, straightening her robes and placing the string of beads over her head. She then unstraps the staff from her back.
"I am ready whenever you are shadow walker"
If no one objects, She will push the door open with her staff.

"Guessing the plumbing doesn't work anymore if this place really sunk into the ground. Anyone up for continuing down the hall?"
“I am. Let’s get moving.”

Asmodai pockets the jade figurines; the kobold is too excited about taking you all to see his leader to notice.
