"Brozak? Would you like to open that door and go first? Maybe there'll be something really good to hit. We're right behind you." (Brozak-Abner-Adri-Red-Therne, say?)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Brozak takes point with the diminished glow of Abner's light glaring from his shield. He grasps the dark, brass door handle and gently pushes the door open and steps into the gloomy dining room.
A large table and eight matching chairs dominate this pristine yet poorly lit room. Four well-dressed, shadowy figures are sat around the table, but they rise politely as you start to enter, acknowledging you with a slight bow. But then you see their faces and the veil of shadow falls away, revealing four decomposing humans in tattered finery.
As your expression turns from caution to shock, they begin to shamble towards your group.
Initiative
Abner: 10
Adri: 6
Brozak: 19
Red: 11
Therne: 6
Zombies: 1
Combat
Brozak:
You are at the front of your group, looking straight towards the four rotting figures, with the furthest two just barely on the edge of the light from your shield.
Abner, Adri and Red:
The three of you are positioned just behind Brozak, having just filtered in behind him. Similarly, you can barely make out the furthest two attackers from the radius of the light.
Therne:
You are still in the doorway, due to being at the back of the marching order. However you can move through the spaces of your companions due to your halfling nimbleness.
Order of Initiative: Brozak, Therne, Zombies, Adri, Abner and Red.
[OoC]: The furthest two zombies are just barely outside of the range of the light source (15 ft. radius) so any attacks against them will have disadvantage.
(ooc As I move the light towards the zombies will that remove diasadvantage?)
[OoC]: Yes.
Brozak lurches forward and smashes the nearest zombie in the shoulder with his warhammer. The bone cracks and subluxes the upper arm, drooping it. The undead servant doesn't even react to the blow. As the light encompasses more of the room, the furthest two zombies come into view.
Abner, Adri and Red:
Your darkvision allows you to see clearly within the radius of the light. You can see that three of the zombies appear to be wearing tattered servants uniforms, whilst the other (C4) is wearing torn noble finery and has a dagger protruding from its heart.

"Aaaaah!" Therne lets out a screech -- she's still a little unnerved after her experience with the mirror, but she steels herself and steps forward to where Brozak was standing (G2) to try and get a clear look around the room for any magic, especially on the zombies (passive perception: 15). If she notices that one in particular has a magical signature, she'll target it and notify the others (of any magic she sees), but otherwise she's going to shoot her fire from produce flame at the zombie at E4.
Attack: 7 Damage: 8 fire damage (if it hits, will it briefly illuminate the zombie more?)
She'll then use her bonus action to cast Shillelagh on her quarterstaff.
As Therne steps forward between the legs of Red, she immediately sees the source of the transmutation signature. The glowing outline specific to the school gently encompasses the hilt of a knife protruding from one of the zombies' (C4) chest. Still attempting to control her nerves, she launches fire at one of the undead, but the flame sails past it and extinguishes into the blackness of the far wall. Running her wooden staff over her quarterstaff, she imbues it with the power of nature and breathes steadily.
The zombies begin their advance in a jerky and uneven gait, with the one that Brozak hit flailing it's dislocated arm wildly in the direction of his face, and the one behind it scrabbling over the other's shoulder in a failed attempt to claw at the dragonborn's face.
Meanwhile, the zombies on the other side of the table advance on Therne and Adri attempting to bit, gnaw and beat at the living as they moan and gurgle in an otherworldly cacophony.
Zombie Attack vs Brozak: 7 Damage: 6
Zombie Attack vs Therne: 15 Damage: 4
Zombie Attack vs Adri: 20 Damage: 7
The wild flailing of the corpse fails to reach Brozak as he deftly ducks beneath the arm. Therne's nimble form allows her to avoid the lurching movement of her attacker, whose claws just barely manage to scrape the leather armour that covers her back. Adri, having only just stepped into the room, is instantly set upon by the undead malice; which manages to latch its mouth around her shield arm before she can pull it free and stand ready to deliver Selûne's divine wrath.
Order of Initiative: Brozak, Therne, Zombies, Adri, Abner and Red.
Adri will move to G4 to let Red and Abner join the fight while casting Shield of faith on Red. When she positions herself, she brings her mace down hard on the zombie at G3.
Adri ducks away from the gnashing zombie and envelopes Red in a holy shield. She then dances to her left and swings her mace in a vicious downwards arc, but the erratic movements of the undead throw off her aim and no connection is made.
[OoC]: I'm setting off to play with my IRL group now, so replies will be little to none for the rest of today. May be able to get one or two out tomorrow, then it'll be Monday again for the next one. I hope everybody is still enjoying the game!

As his bonus action, saying Be well sister Red casts Healing Word on Adri, 4 hit points restored, while moving to H3 in front of our late host. And thank you for the protective glow, again.
Then with a quiet Nice house thanks for having us casts Dissonant Whispers at the well-dressed zombie 12 psychic damage, plus it has to move away from me (half damage and no retreat on a DC 13 Wisdom save).
If he misses his save, all three of us surrounding him should get opportunity attacks - maybe Adri &or Therne get advantage from flanking? Anyway, if it moves I’ll stab with Lord Redmane’s own rapier
9 if hit damage is 6
Master A - let's call that plan B - if fighting doesn't work we'll see
Abner's fire bolt shoots over Therne's head but misses the zombie, careening into the blackness of the ceiling.
Red meanwhile emanates divine radiance as he knits Adri's wounds back together, then moves into place and whispers his discordant melody into the mind of the noble-looking zombie. Its eyes roll into the back of its head as it turns to flee, but Red's silver rapier pierces the back of its throat and tears its way through the front - dribbling thick, dark crimson blood down its front and collapsing to the floor.
Zombie Constitution Saving Throw: 21
As Red pulls his rapier free, he looks in shock as the zombie scrambles back to its feet, its bearded head hanging loosely from its neck.
Order of Initiative: Brozak, Therne, Zombies, Adri, Abner and Red.
"Try to get the dagger, but be careful, it's magic," Therne cautions. She strikes out at the zombie she has flanked with Adri with her magic-imbued quarterstaff.
Therne attacks the lordly zombie that Red just tracheotomised, using Adri and Red's positioning to distract the undead before striking base of its skull.
Zombie Constitution Saving Throw: 4
The shambling corpse collapses against Adri's shield, but quickly rises onto its knees and pounces at Therne with its teeth gnashing towards her face.
Meanwhile, the other zombie involved in the scrabbling melee goes for Adri, flinging its clawed hand towards her face.
Brozak holds firm at the other side of the room as the two undead push against him to try and eat his flesh. Fortunately, the solid table holds strong and doesn't budge - so the rear zombie cannot quite gain a position to strike, and mindlessly flails against the table, wall and the back of its ally. The other zombie staggers into the dragonborn with all of its weight, raising a bony protrusion from its arm to pierce Brozak's gut.
Zombie Attack vs Brozak: 10 Damage: 2
Zombie Attack vs Therne: 6 Damage: 2
Zombie Attack vs Adri: 7 Damage: 2
Your group stands resolute, and none of you succumb to the attacks of the shrieking dead.
Order of Initiative: Brozak, Therne, Zombies, Adri, Abner and Red.
Adri stows her mace at her hip and deftly ducks beneath a swing of the zombie, grabs hold of the dagger and pulls it free from between the ribs, slicing through the flesh of the pectoral muscles as she does.
Dagger Damage: 4
Zombie Constitution Saving Throw: 17
The zombie shudders as the dagger - which Adri can determine is of elven craftmanship - slips free of its rotting body, but it still stands ready to devour any who fall to its teeth or claws.
