A little bewildered by the suddenness of these dual attacks, Abner tries out a new spell, Sleep, which he casts on the three nearby fishmen surrounding Red.
Do fish sleep? So many creatures he's unfamiliar with! (Does he recognize these? If he has a moment to think about it: Nature: 5)
[OoC]: Do you mean Red or Brozak? Abner doesn't recognise the type of creature they are dealing with.
The group of you feel a shudder, and hear a sudden thump and the cracking of wood as a massive, brown grizzly bear smashes onto the deck, using its powerful jaws to rip free of the tentacled monster's grip. The bear growls formidably and advances towards the kraken-creature.

This doesn't seem like a quick scrape, so Red is starting up a song befitting an epic battle. Sing along, scream or howl - he is weaving his actions into the song
Dum day da dah dum, rock on my friend Zagrot...
Granting Bardic Inspiration to the orc (add d6 to roll in next 10 minutes). Continuing:
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
After Yaro reinvigorates Brozak with a blessing of health and dives into combat, both aarakocra brothers take to the air. Meanwhile, red whips his rapier viciously towards his closest alight foe and manages to stick him through the bicep.
Vreek dive bombs the tentacled creature and slashes at it viciously with his talons, circling around it as he attempts to rip through its bulbous flesh.
Aereek takes to the air and swoops over the top of the sea spawn battling Brozak, Abner and Yaro. As he zips over the grate in the centre of the deck, he utters something in his strange language, and suddenly a huge thunderous boom echoes from his beak. Those of you nearby are almost deafened as the deafening explosion of sound is directed straight at the creatures attacking Grout and Zagrot.
The creature closest to the grate is repelled backwards into its ally as the spell blasts into it. Both sea spawn remain upright, but slightly disoriented. The one that took the full brunt of the spell is bleeding from its ears and looks on its last legs. Both creatures take an extra 4 bludgeoning damage from crashing into each other.
At the sound of the thunder echoing across the sea, the sleeping figure shoots upright - suddenly awake - and looks around confused before setting its sights back on Brozak.
[OoC]: Brozak, you're up. Remember you're currently prone from being knocked unconscious. The enemy who was asleep is also prone but is now awake.
While Zagrot was able to fend off most of the scaly fiend’s attacks, his witnessing Brozak getting overwhelmed and struck down proved just enough a distraction to catch a glancing blow on his forearm. The claw, though barely grazing the orc’s skin, tore a wide gash in his long sleeve, revealing a muscle-rippled, heavily tattoed, gray forearm.
Zagrot draws back, grunting in pain, as he snaps his attention back onto the threat before him. With a rising growl, his lips draw back even further, letting loose a stream of spittle that trickles down his chin. His fists clench so tightly around his javelin that the knuckles turn bone-white.
“Ska’ramoq muchuk’iyin!” he roars, charging towards his foe with the javelin. It looks as if he intends more to get through the enemy than at it.
For those who speak Orcish:
“Cave-mother, see my strength!” - the battlecry of orcs who are protecting their lairs
OOC:
When his turn arrives, Zagrot will trigger Barbarian Rage with his bonus action, then make an attack against the Faerie Fire'd enemy at J-6. If that enemy falls, Zagrot will charge to M-6, taking the AoO from the enemy at J-5. Otherwise, Zagrot will remain where he is to finish off the J-6 baddie.
Zagrot viciously drops one of the sea spawn by piercing its throat with a javelin, then charges forward in a blind rage to aid Brozak. The creature next to him flings out it's elbow as he passes, attempting to spike the orc with its poison quills.
Enemy (j5) Attack vs. Zagrot:6 Damage: 4 poison
Zagrot Constitution Saving Throw vs. Poisoned (if it hits): 22 (DC12)
Grout, now looking bloodied and breathing hard, takes another two large overhead swings at the creature in front of him - no longer enjoying the benefit of his pack tactics.
Grout Attack vs. Enemy (j5):18 Damage: 8
Grout Attack vs.Enemy (j5):19 Damage: 7
The captain's scimitar cracks through the barnacled cranium of his target, then with a final swing he brings the blade down and cleaves its head in two. The tall man takes a couple of deep breaths, wipes his forehead free of sweat, then runs into the next melee.
The two amphibious men position themselves to surround Zagrot and attack the newcomer relentlessly, taking their attention from the shielded dragonborn for a moment.
Enemy (n5) Attack vs. Zagrot:18 Damage: 6

After being clawed in a ruthless attack by Vreek, the tentacled monster attempts to wrap an appendage around your flying ally, then quickly pulls free of the ship and submerges itself deeper into the waters - dragging the aarakocra down with it. The last thing you hear is a squawking sound which turns into an abrupt gargle.
Enemy Attack vs. Vreek: Attack: 16 Damage: 11
Upon seeing the bird-man being drawn into the depths of the sea, Ebokk freezes and looks at the massive bear next to him. He looks confused, panicked and crestfallen all at the same time. He drops his warhammer to the deck and takes his face in his hands, muttering to himself in dwarvish.
Order of Initiative: Red, Brozak, Zagrot, Bosun Grout, Enemies, Therne, Ebokk, Abner, Yaro, Aarakocra.
Zagrot and Brozak both hit the deck hard after the ruthless attacks of the sea spawn, with Zagrot even succumbing to their sickly aquatic poison.
Abner's spell sends jolts of lightning shooting through the already glowing creature, the slick wet skin charring at an accelerated rate.
[OoC]: For the benefit of Therne, Aereek is flying 10 ft. above deck, so in your bear form you can still move through (under) his space if you want to.
Does Therne get an AoO against the monster? If so, she’d strike out, ideally at whatever tentacle has her ally, but if not, at whatever she can reach.
AoO Claw attack: Attack: 8 Damage: 9 slashing
*Help the aarakocra! I haven’t tried to swim in this form,* Therne says to Ebokk with her telepathy, and she moves past to help the others. The only one she can get to easily appears to be the one at M7, if he’s still up.
[OoC]: No AoO, your reach isn't long enough and the sea monster was at sea level below the edge of the boat.
After sending her telepathic message, Therne-Bear charges across the deck, splintering and cracking the wood beneath her mighty paws. The ship sways as she crosses towards her prey, and the rest of you can't help but cry in alarm as she bursts through the line, clamps her huge jaws around the sea spawn, and completely shakes the life from it in a brutal display of violence. Brozak, Yaro, Abner and Zagrot are showered in gore as the glowing sea spawn splits apart in the bears mouth.
The bear then prowls around the edge of the fighting to the enemy that Grout is struggling with, almost toppling the main mast as she brushes it with her bulk. With a bellowing roar and a huge bat of her paw, she breaks the creature's jaw and disorients it. It collapses to the deck, barely alive, its face a bloody mess.
[OoC]: Your first hit killed the enemy at M7, so I figured she'd use her second attack on the one she could most easily get to. Yaro, you're up.
