OOC: So, there are two goblins waiting in ambush. One sneaks toward the cave. The other shoots an arrow at Vimak, but does no damage. Vimak throws his ax, but misses. The goblin who shot at Vimak hides for a moment, but Herman kills it with an arrow ("the archer" who rolled a 20?). The goblin sneaking toward the cave hides (13), spots Cirrus, but doesn't draw its weapon. Herman, however, has spotted it. His Perception roll was 14. Is that right?
Vimak, sprinting toward the cave, Gulari, running next to him, remembers sprinting at his tribe's enemies as a child, but just long enough to feel the thud of an arrow against his chest. It hasn't hurt him. He splashes across the shallow stream, cold water in his boots, throws an ax where he guesses the arrow came from, but only hears it in the trees. Then a goblin drops, arrow in its throat. Herman, he thinks, shoots well. Vimak slows to a jog, feeling inspired by Cirrus's song (OOC: but not using the dice roll yet), and tries to perceive any more close goblins: 14.
@herman would be investigation, but a 14 finds it.
@cirrus unless you mean damage from earlier, no damage has been taken from these new gobbos.
@vimak mostly right. The goblin that went towards the cave got 19. The one that was killed was killed before it truly hid, o remembered his held shot after rolling, and editing after a roll would cause the thing to show manipulated rolls. So everything you said is correct, except swap the goblins stealth. The living one has a 19.
Heading into comicon for the day, wont be able to post more. But nat 1 perception... hmmm a leaf slaps your open eye.
The shot barely misses the goblin, sticking into a tree nearby. The goblin panics, and dash-disengages (Goblin monster Racial if you're wondering how.) flying past Cirrus in his haste, making it about 15 feet past him, into the cave, just within the dim lighting of the moon on the snow. The goblin is just barely within visibility, allowing NORMAL attacks. There is no attack of opportunity due to Disengage.
I think Cirrus is completely caught off guard by this, and just looks at the rest of his party with a look of shock and confusion, and I guess he just goes in after the that goblin that is visible and makes an attack with his rapier; 16 to hit, 8 dmg.

You can't drown someone with Create Water. If your lungs are containers than your bones are objects. Any Siege monster that attacks you deals double damage because it’s attacking your bones.
Vimak rubs at his eye and the leaf in it. He grabs his second throwing ax and heaves it at the goblin: 8 to hit (with disadvantage if you'd like: 21), 11 damage.
The axe flies into the back of the already dead Goblin, sticking firmly as it collapses into the ground. As the goblin lands in an echoing thud against the ground where the snow ceased to be, deeper within, Cirrus heard growls suddenly erupt from within the darkness. It didn't seem to move, and the sound of metal clinking could be heard, as if it were being pulled tightly.
Everywhere else, was silent. It seemed that the party had taken care of the advanced scouts/guards in the area. The only noises now being the soft trickle of the stream, and the cautiously returning sound of the crickets to slowly fill the night. The party gains 100 exp (75 for finding the goblin cave, 25 for defeating the goblins.)
So far, nothing seems to be coming out of the cave. What is your next move?
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Vimak considers looking through the trees for his other hand ax, but decides not to do so. He tries to hide across from Cirrus, on the other side of the mouth of the cave: 5. As soon as he can, he blinks and washes his eye, hoping it hasn't been damaged.
He listens and looks as far as he can into the cave, perception: 9, hopefully without revealing his location to anyone inside.
If Vimak heard the same sound Cirrus did, he investigates his memory to identify it: 15
Cirrus makes some hand signals to the rest of the party members that he can see, silently asking what they think they should do, go inside or rest?

Herman would like to listen to the sound coming from the cave. What kind of sound is it and how far away from the mouth is it? (The growls and clicking)
The flurry of action was over almost as soon as it had begun. but Gilari didn't want to slow down. Instinct was kicking in. "We should press on, our strike against them will have not have raised any alarm yet."
He turns towards the cave, and stared into the interior, the growls and clinks coming from within. "A dark path, but one that must be taken... shall we go?" He waves a meaty hand towards the entrance.
Vimak attempts to sneak up on the caves mouth, however, occasionally one of his weapons brush against the rocky side, making a medium 'clang' noise of metal on rock. Luckily the sound of the stream is almost as loud. Still if not for the stream, the noise might have drawn attention. Unable to see within the cave at all beyond the light from the moon, vimak gives up on looking, and as Herman and Vimak strain their ears to focus on the noise, both are able to tell that there are wolves, however Vimak's focus is pure calm, and as he listens deeper, he can tell there are four distinct noises. Three of them belong to wolves.. the other one, more deep, more malevolent... A worg. He also hears chains rattling and straining from within. He also can faintly.. FAINTLY hear the crackling of a fire somewhere in the interior, though its a small one.. likely a campfire or small bonfire.
Identifying the source, Herman will say, "You know, what? I don't feel like fighting wolves and worgs today. I'd suggest we all move to a different town and pretend we died trying to get the goods back but somehow, I doubt you'll listen to that advice. So, how about we try to do something else instead. We go kill a rabbit or something and use the freshly killed animal as bait to draw the wolves and/or the worg out. Then we will just throw shit at it and try to kill it before it closes in to melee. We'll even throw a torch into the cave with the meat so that we can actually see what we're shooting at."
(OOC: This suggestion is assuming Vimak tells Herman about the worg. If he doesn't, then Herman will still suggest the same thing but not mention worgs.)
(Out of character, I am seriously considering the idea of getting the heck out of dodge, but I think Cirrus has too much self-image to do that.)
Cirrus says "Okay, well I like Herman's plan of trying to lure out whatever is inside, I understand his desires to run away, but as for me, it's my fault we lost the cart, so it's my duty to try and get it back."

Herman let's out a weary sigh and shakes his head at Cirrius' words. He looks at the Genasi through his visor and says, "Listen kid (I have no idea how old Cirrius actually is lol), things like duty, honor, promises, loyalty... all these things mean jack if you end up dead because of them. At the end of the day, the only thing that truly matters is if you're alive or not. You could be the summiest scum bag in all the planes or you could be the noblest hero that has ever heroed nobly; all the praise and all the hatred in the planes won't matter to you if you're dead."He then turns away to look at the cave before saying words directed at not only Cirrius but the whole party. "I am going to be frank with you, the only reason I came here was because I wanted the 20gp. That 20gp isn't looking like such a great deal considering the mess that's probably waiting for us down there. If all of us agreed to leave and pretend this never happened, it would be easier for me and everyone else to get away with it." He pauses for a bit before turning to the party. "However, if one or more of you wish to go down there and fight our target out, then pretending to be dead would be a lot harder with other people around as witnesses; much more complicated and it would take so much effort that I'd rather go into the cave with you and fight for that stupid cart. I just can't be assed to bother with that much extra effort on deception and disguises and whatever the other words are." He then turns his head and looks straight at Cirrius. You can feel his eyes directly on you even though you can't see them through the darkness in his visor. His gaze does not have any annoyance, disappointment or any negative emotion in them that is directed toward you. Instead, you can feel a sense of seriousness and nothing but. "If you want to try and retrieve the cart and fight these goblins, I'm not going to stop you, hell I'll even help you do it. But, don't do it for meaningless things like duty, image or honor. Do it because that is the path of least complication or for some other reason you think is important, or simply because of yourself and because you want to; I don't care. Ideals and duty aren't worth fighting and dying for; you can trust me on that." Herman's voice during this speech does not have any annoyance in it, at least, not any more than what is normal. Instead they have a grim seriousness in them. He isn't mad or disappointed in Cirrius, he's just trying to tell him something that he whole-heatedly believes to be truth.
Vimak does tell everyone everything he learned by peering into the cave.
"Herman's plan is a good one," he says. "We might even save a moment and use our rations, if they are attractive to wolves and a warg, as bait." He pauses. "Honor, doing as we said we would, is all that keeps us from becoming packs ourselves, bullied by whoever has the sharpest teeth. With it we become tribes, civilizations even. With it we have hope of actually receiving the 20 gold promised to us. When we have a warm fire and full bellies we can talk more, but for now, what can we use to slay the beasts at a distance?" He plans to buy more throwing axes, perhaps even a bow, as soon as he can. "I'm going to search for my ax for a moment," he says. He will also take the ax from the goblin's body as he passes it.
Vimak looks for the ax that missed the goblin earlier: Perception3, (with disadvantage: 12)

Herman would throw his torch but he's 120ft away so he's just going to shoot the Goblin he detected. He will do it when it's "His turn" of course.
