OOC - My mistake. I thought the dice thing applied to both long and short. Ignore my comment. Just click the 'long rest' button on your sheet and the 'ok' button that pops up
OOC again - Also you should have seen all my 'homebrew' rules by now, so likely no more surprises, lol. Beyond that I try to be by the book, lol. The rest is mostly logical. Cast lightning into water? everything in water gets hit.
Edit - Gah the first line there i keep thinking sounds bad.. basically I'm trying to say, you shouldn't have to worry about more surprises. YOu've more or less experiences how my games work.
Yeemik shrugs and says It is... if you can climb without much noise..... if you do.. you might get jump on him.. if you make noise... he will get jump on you...
Herman seems to ponder a bit and asks, "So... which room is Klarg supposed to be in again? The room where the water starts or the room to the south-east?"
Gilari is groggily awoken from his rest, but thanks to the fine bandage work from Cirrus his injury is now just sore and stiff, rather than fully hampering his ability to move. The stresses and strains of their previous day's adventures have eased somewhat, though an occasional stiff muscle presented itself as his rose and stretched his limbs out. He nodded thankfully at Herman and Vimak for their watchful eyes.
"Right, time to tackle the boss then.. " he yawned. "Seems like from what Yeemik," he struggles over the goblin pronunciation "has said there's only really one way in. So I'd say big guys up front, with Cirrus and Herman in the rear." He sniffed for a moment. "Might be worth is approaching from both the bridge and the lower tunnel though, then we don't get all hemmed into one area?"
Yeemik almost growls You human always say Goblins stupid... Room away from water, near wolf kennel! Cross bridge, Cross ground, go up hole! All way in. Why would bugbear den be in water! They not fish people! he says stamping his feet and pointing across the bridge. After a moment he calms down, and just sighs. Clearly wondering if he made the right deal with the right people....
((Essentially going either the bridge or area near the stream lead to the same place before Klargs lair. The only alternative path is the 'chimney' near the dog kennel. The center of Klargs lair is M-22 also sorry for delay in posting.. been engrossed in a show i haven't watched for 10 years, so it almost feels fresh :P))
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
(What do expect? Herman is part Doom Marine. Everything in Doom is activated by switches; even the sky :P)
Herman tries to see if he can see the rock in question from the cliff before the bridge starts at 15D. He then draws his bow without an arrow to see how easy it might be to hit the rock with an arrow from up at his place. While he is at that place he looks at the bridge itself to see if it might be possible to hit a "weak spot" in the bridge to cause it to collapse.
Investigation: 8
Herman thinks for a while longer. Then, based on the results of the investigation roll, he will offer one of the following plans:
Plan - A: If Bridge is breakable
"Alright so how about we do as much damage to this Karl or whatever the **** his name is and his wolves before engaging him. One of of us will hide close to the bridge (B12) while two others stand back at the wolf pen. Judging by the fact that the wolves were kept there and that it's a bit elevated from the stream, I don't think the water trap can reach there. One of the goblins will run up to Karl and tell him... I don't know something, anything, to get him to cross the bridge. When he is half-way across, one of us will run up close to the bridge and break it, causing our target to fall down. The last person will be hiding near the water-trap trigger the whole time. When Karl falls with the bridge, he will activate the water trap causing our target to get pushed out of the cave. While he's disoriented and dazed, the two that were hiding in the wolf pen will rush out and dog-pile him. Two attackers against him and his dazed and hurt wolves should be enough to keep him busy while the rest of us run out of the cave as fast as possible and kill him.
Plan - B: If bridge is unbreakable or Herman can't figure out a way to break it; The water trap can be activated from range.
We draw the target out of his little throne room and into the hall below the bridge. I will hide near the base of the bridge (B15) and activate the trap when he gets in range. He should take some damage and be flushed out from the water trap. The rest of us who will be stationed near the exit will gang up on him when he and his wolves come out with the water.
Plan - C: If both plan A and Plan B are shot down for whatever or are unapplicable
I say one of us sneaks up through the chimney near the wolf pen; it'll be much easier for one of us to climb up stealthily than all of us. The remaining three splits into two teams. One team will move in through the bridge while the other will go from below. The target should be distracted by the two team's approach, making it easier for the sneak to climb up the chimney. When his back is turned, the sneak will attack from behind while the other teams strike from the front. To time our attacks so that everyone is attacking him at around the same time, we will all be counting in our heads. We will execute the assault at the count of 200. It's okay if one of us is a bit early or late by a few points, the attack should still happen at around the same time.
Even though it is now light outside, within the cave, darkness is everywhere this deep in, though from the bridge, light can be seen at the entrance. But even if not for the darkness, the rocks and walls at D-21 block the view as the rock wall is at e-25 and F-24. The only likely spots to hit it are at D-20, though it would put the attacker at slight risk of being swept away too. Pr anywhere within a square of F-21.
Though this all, you see that Plan A is applicable. but the bridge itself is 20 feet above the floor below, meaning someone will either need to be 'on' the bridge to cut it, or will have to make one hell of an athletics check + an attack on the bridge or be on the edge of where the bridge is to break it.
The bridge has an AC of 10, and HP of 5 to break.
If someone is 'jumping' the Athletic DC is 16 followed with an attack to beat the above AC/HP.
If someone is 'on' the bridge, they will need to make a DC 15 Dex Save or fall with Klarg.
And then there still remains: How are you getting him 'out' of his 'throne room'
Cirrus will interject in Herman's planning, "I do have some spells that could be helpful in this situation. Firstly, I could ask Yeemik if Goblin King Grol or this 'Black Spider' have any recognizable iconography that Klarg might recognize, and we could perhaps pass ourselves off as representatives from someone that Klarg has sworn submission to? Secondly, I do have a spell that has a chance of tricking the bugbear into thinking that we are his closest friends. Finally, Herman, do you remember when I made you float so you could rest? I could try to use that on Klarg and then he won't be able to move. then we can take him out from the ground and he can't do anything until my magic ends."
"As for how those relate to your plan, if none of the goblins are willing to talk to Klarg, then I could go in and try to charm him, and lure him onto the bridge so that one of you can break it, and another one of you can activate the water trap. Then once Klarg is flushed out of the cave, we could then go after him and I could put him in the air. If he is in the forest clearing with no trees around him, then he won't be able to move! If we discuss this plan with Yeemik, then maybe he would be willing to have some goblins with shortbows out after Klarg with us, then they can help liberate their kind, and they don't have to get close enough to Klarg that he can hurt them!"
"Of course, this all is predicated on a successful use of my charm person song. And he resists my magic breath then it will be very dangerous to try and kill him. If the charm does work, I don't think that the charm will wear off once the bridge breaks. I just need to pretend I didn't see it coming, and he will believe me because of the charm spell. Then once he is flushed out I can say something about drying him off by putting him in the air, and since he is charmed by me, he will be willing to be lifted up, and there is no chance that my magic could fail."
Also, can Cirrus get his dagger back from Yeemik?

You can't drown someone with Create Water. If your lungs are containers than your bones are objects. Any Siege monster that attacks you deals double damage because it’s attacking your bones.
(By the way, Cirrus would have responded to Herman’s whispering about striking back at the goblins with something about how Yeemik said that if they kill Klarg then the goblins will stop ambushing people, so it would beneficial to more people to kill the bugbear than to betray these goblins)

Vimak listens to the planning. He would love to see the bugbear fall from the bridge, if that's possible. Levitating the bugbear or the wolves, also sounds like a good idea, but he worries about luring it out of its room. Levitating its wolves might be especially good because they don't have ranged weapons and the bugbear might. He tried to remember anything he's heard about bugbear maneuvers, about how they fight: History 6.
Vimak also collects both his throwing axes.
OOC: Is it possible to attack the bridge from 15C? Stand next to it while attacking it without the DC 15 Dex save to jump away from it?
(OOC: yes, it is, since you would also be on solid cave rock. And Yeemik is using his own dagger so uh if you have a dagger elsewhere, you may collect it, lol. And squaretoes, you know everything about bugbears :P you were a bugbear enthusiast. Go ahead and check out their monster page for whatever info you like you almost double passed the check, lol - anyways i'm passing out. I need sleep. badly.)
(ooc: sorry to be boring but I'm packing in last night of holiday and likely unable to post for 24 hours. I like plan A, and I'm happy to either be the stupid guy on the bridge, or a meat shield where required. Back to regular BETTER posting soon.)

Herman hears the layout and asks Yeemik if it would be possible to reach the south-east room through L18-L19

Herman ignores the goblin's protest and continues to think. He asks "Is there anything we need to worry about in the water room? What's in there?"
Water trap. if not used, then total 2, but if used, then one, or zero. Just water, rocks.

Herman rubs his cloth covered jaw and says, "Where is the switch to activate this trap?"
(haha)
Hit rock hard enough near bottom. AC 4, HP 3.
