Lugnutz is evidently too busy smashing the remains of the door with his crowbar to listen to Arnnon’s question. Deciding that in this case the dead should remain undisturbed the group leave satisfied knowing that while haunted the tomb was not the cause of the freakish weather and the increase in monsters in the area.
Having no other tasks for the Constable Harburk they begin the several mile hike back to Red Larch.
They arrive back in town near sundown and head to the Helm at Highsun where a suite of rooms was left available for them.
Harburk arrives a short while later wanting a review of what the group have done over the last two days.
Othronus, looking weary from the journey, steps forward.
Greetings, Mr Harburk. We have found this cave of ill repute, and the spectre guarding it. We have done our work, and as my learned friend Mr Lugz remarked, this spectre will now do you the courtesy of staying dead. I fear we have no explanation for the weather and rash of freakish beasts and monsters, though. Have you any other idea of a cause? Will you join us for ale, and we shall converse?
Aye it seems to have been a fruitful two days. Here is 10 gold each for your troubles and the rooms are paid for. While I don’t have anything specific for you to look into just yet I have been asked to relay a request onto you. In the morning would you be so kind as to visit Kaylessa Irkell, she is the owner of the Swinging Sword smithy here in town. She wishes to speak to you about something having heard about how you took care of the bandits yesterday. She is quite influential here in town and for persons in your profession being friendly with the local smithy seems like a good idea. Anyway enjoy your evening gentlefolk you’ve deserved it.
Harburk downs an ale and leaves you to rest. Nastymian also bids you a fond farewell claiming that he knows his quest does not stay in Red Larch, mayhaps you’ll meet him again on the road.
What do you miscreants want to do for the night? There’s talk of a drinking contest from Othronus...
Arnnon heads to the Swinging Sword, the local Smithy, as he enters a silver haired Human woman is behind the counter, in the yard behind you can hear and clanging of hammer on steel as the smiths complete their tasks for the day. The woman turns to Arnnon as he enters Welcome to the Swinging Sword, would you perchance be one of the adventurers hired by Constable Harburk to deal with the strange goings on in the area?
That I am. My companions and I have already set about our quest, though I fear that to succeed I need to improve or acquire better armour. I have been told for such a task there is no better place than the swinging sword
Excellent! I will be more than hapyp to sort out your equipment needs, I also have a request for you to help Constable Harburk. But let us sort out the trade first!! What kind of armament are you afteR?
I will do all I can to help. I’m looking to acquire a set of studded leather armour, for which I will trade my current armour for and compensate the difference
Very good with the armour as trade the studded leather will cost you 40 gold. As for the favour I have to ask, near to here is an area known as Lance Rock. It is a cave system that has a large Granite Menhir partially blocking the entranceway. In recent months there have been signs left near there warning people to stay away or suffer the wrath of the Lord of Lance Rock. There should be no lord there and a malevolent presence seems to be emanating from the area. I would have you and your group investigate it for me and while I don't propose to pay you any extra than what the Constable is offering I am willing to give your colleagues and you a 10% discount in the future on all purchases. How does that sound?
That sounds very agreeable, I shall speak with my companions but I have no doubt they will be willing to undertake the quest. I shall pass on you’re offer and advise them to attend here for all of their weapons needs.
Arnnon nods in thanks at the woman before leaving the smithy to return to the group to pass on the details of this new quest.
Othronus gave his word to the spectre not to disturb the dead but does anyone else want to look in the coffin?
“I’m all up for respecting the dead, though I’m guessing Lugz smash?”
Lugnutz is evidently too busy smashing the remains of the door with his crowbar to listen to Arnnon’s question. Well you don't have to ask me twice! Excuse me, bar wench? 4 beers please, and some for my companions too!
Anyone for a game of cards?
I'm asking that question with the intent of finding a poor shmuck with too much cash moneys in his pocket...
THere'll be no shortage of people to play against. Red Larch is primarily a pit stop for caravans heading east and west.
Gimme a Sleight of Hand Check if youre planning on cheating the schmucks in the tavern or an Intelligence check if you plan on card counting

And with that sleight Of hand check no one noticed him cheating.
What did the others want to do with their time?
Othronus visits the bar and then settles by the fire with a flagon of ale, a pie, book of local history and half an eye on Lugz.
“If anyone wants me I will be visiting the smithy to upgrade my armour”
