"Perhaps we just knock him out and give him a little time to think about if he values his life or not?" Fluxx moves up to recommend a move, but if hes too late then thats fine.
Lavandula shakes his head at his comrades: We really could've used him alive..
He massages his forehead gently, then gracefully makes his way to the fallen horses. He is looking for any information he can gather to bring back to the Guild or to Reyrieth in Phandalin. He checks the horses, their saddles and packs (if they have any), and also the closest Goblins.
There’s several arrows sticking out of the horses, some of the broken. The saddlebags, however have been looted. The only thing of interest that you find is an empty leather map case. Unusually, however, it is monogrammed with Dwarven runes.
spoiler for those who speak/read Dwarven:
The runes say “Rockseeker”

Ellara Nightflower: level 1 blood hunter, Curse of Strahd
There’s a lot of evidence of a fight, a few bloodstains, footprints from maybe a dozen goblins and drag marks that lead off the left (real cardinal direction North-west) side of the road. The tracks lead through the thicket on that side to a fairly clear trail. The drag marks are clearer now. There looks to be two distinct drag trails, one is slightly wider than the other, but they look like they’ve been formed by the dragging of bodies.

Can anyone read these runes? I found this in the horses' saddlebags. The Goblins left this behind.. but it's empty. Should we go after them now, or should we keep going to Phandalin? We can't be too far away now, we have a full cart of gear and two oxen to account for, they won't be able to follow us into the forest.
Lavandula seems torn between following the tracks, or finishing their mission first. He's never had much of a liking for Goblin and their kin.. but he wants their first mission for the Guild to go well.
(OOC: how far away do we estimate we are from Phandalin, and about what time of the day is it?)
"Are mission is to make sure we get this wagon to Phandalin but at the same time I don't like the idea of Goblins attacking and taking prisoners on our trade routes... I definitely don't like the idea of just leaving the wagon to get stolen but I also don't want those people to die. This is a rough decision."

Roland feels a jolt as the goblin’s head is forced backwards by the impact of the bolt, then all resistance leaves it’s body and it slumps, dead.

(It’s roughly an hour before noon, but unless you’re familiar with the area you’re not sure how much further away you might be from .
If anyone’s familiar with the area around Neverwinter:
If you carried on now, you’d arrive at Phandalin around 3 hours before sunset.
