Hey everyone, looking for 4 more players to run through Ghosts of the Saltmarsh - recruitment will close Saturday the 1st, with the adventure starting Sunday.
Looking for players who can post at least once a day and just want to have a bit of fun.
Characters start at level 1, stats are rolled (reroll 1s)
Backstory: Pirate. Ex-"privateer" who found love and gave up his old ways. Attempted to live a good life, but his past came to take away both the life he was trying to make, and the one he loved. He now strives to seek redemption in the ways Eldath offered
Backstory: Sybella grew up as a street urchin in Saltmarsh. She did what she could to survive, including picking pockets and running scams. When she was a teen, a retired salty seadog took her into their household. This salty seadog is (a lady and you can make up her details if you'd like or I can) and she ran a strict house. Sybella currently works as a tavern wench, but dreams of going on adventures. Her adoptive mother has spent years training Sybella with a bow and on how to handle different dangerous scenarios but has frequently stated Sybella isn't ready to fly the nest just yet...
DM: Adventures in Phandalin [Khessa], The Dread of Strahd[Darya], Dragons of Stormwreck Isle [Rook], Baldur's Gate Mysteries [4-Player] Player: Oona in MO's Icewind Dale Ru's Current Status
Backstory: Pearl Fisher/Freebooter. Found on the slopes by a travelling tinker she was taken in at his next port of call by a local pearl diver and her fisherman husband. She grew up on and beneath the water mastering both her adoptive parents callings. Growing up a goliath raised by a half-elf and halfling pairing was interesting to say the least but she deeply loves her adoptive parents and has little to no interest in investigating her origins. She is currently in Saltmarsh between jobs.
Backstory: Rhozar was born to two half elves. They owned and lived on a modest fishing boat. All of their children lived on the boat and learned to fish.
The day before Rhozar was born, the sea was calm. His parents and older sister were on the deck of the boat enjoying the sea and waiting for the baby to arrive. As dusk fell, a large storm rolled in, with the eye of the storm passing directly over their boat. Through the night, Rhozar's mother labored to birth him through the rough seas and constant lightning and thunder. Just when the baby was out, the storm lulled for a few minutes, and the family of half elves hunkered down to wait out the storm in the cabin.
Growing up, Rhozar seemed to have a knack for tricks involving air and the elements. He would often stay on shore during his teenage years when his emotions and manifesting powers were beyond his control.
A few years ago, Rhozar was staying on the shore during a bit of a squall, and was walking through Saltmarsh to get to the other side. He witnessed a robbery of a guarded wagon headed into town. The bandits ran by and Rhozar stood aside while the owner of the wagon shouted, "Stop them!" As it turned out, the owner of the wagon was some important lord, and Rhozar was accused of assisting the burglary. Although he was innocent, the lord leveraged a punishment to mend his wounded pride. Rhozar stayed in prison for five years. He is out now, and trying to find with his family, who sailed away, ashamed of the reputation their son has earned.
Backstory: Folk hero. Nimb used to be a cook back in his hometown of Aranin, only playing instruments as a hobby, but eventually, he got bored with cooking and decided to play music full-time, that was when he learned about bards, and the magic they possessed. Thinking that if he could do magic with just his songs, he could help people and share his wonderful tunes at the same time, he quickly went to Haroak, the town to the south of Aranin, which also contained a popular bard college that Nimb hoped he could get into. He was approved, and spent the next several years training to be a proper bard. After he got out he went on his way, becoming a traveler that plays music wherever he goes, meeting many people along his travels, all of them felt inspired by his amazing songs, and because of that he became a folk hero in the eyes of the lower class.
Backstory: a pirates poet, a sailors songwriter who developed strong taste for lying. Shirley started out as a bard down by the docks singing for copper as the sailors came into port. She eventually met a captain who valued her skill and she became a bard of the seas. She would chronicle the tales of sailors and pirates -- anyone who could pay -- through song or poem or book. She learned the ways of the seas from sailors but she learned her favorite pasttime from pirates -- lying. Next to nothing would excite Shirley more than a good lie. After a while she became so good and had so much fun it became compulsive in her behavior and now she just can't help but to lie about nearly everything.

Race: Water genasi
Class: Cleric (Grave Domain)
Backstory: Jake was born and raised in Saltmarsh, though those two things were done by separate people. His adoptive father was paranoid, and taught Jake to fight and bandage a wound in case he needed protection. Jake eventually grew fed up with the old man’s crazy ravings and moved out. He started a business in the slums, using his small knowledge of medicine to try to fix whoever came through that door, on the understanding that this was not a strictly legal operation. One day, a voice in his head tells him that it had been watching him help everyone as much as he could. It said it’s name was Naralis Analor, and if he worships the voice, Jake will gain power to fix so many more people. As an older man, Jake figures “Why not?” and agreed. Now he’s looking for people who are gonna need some help and some healing.

Ability Scores: 141110131411
Name: Vynex Donbragton (born Van Saphorian)
Race: Fire Genasi
Class: Warlock (Fiend patron)
Backstory: Vynex was born in blood. He is the son of a noble family that no longer exists. The family castle was invaded by a ravaging band of Drow elves on the day he was born. Every living being on the estate was slaughtered: mother, father, grand-parents, both brothers and sister, the butler, the housekeepers, the cooks, the maids, the guards, the gardeners, the stable-boy, and even the horses and dogs owned by the family. Only Vynex survived.. thanks to his mother.. and the Demon Lord, Graz'zt, the Dark Prince. During the attack on House Donbragton, Vynex's mother, Cynthexia, called upon the Dark Prince to protect her, and sealed a blood pact with a drop of her son's blood instead of her own. The demon was not impressed with this, and exiled her to the Abyss to suffer for all of eternity. The child was left to die, but protected from the blood pact.. survived. The day after the massacre, a local farmer's wife found the child lying covered in blood among the corpses. She gave the boy the resources and energy to live.. and adopted him, not knowing that it had already been marked for life from the blood and the killings he had witnessed. From that day, he has been torn between his thirst for blood, and the goodness he has been brought up with, trying very hard to keep himself on the path of righteousness.
Background: Haunted One One moonless night, after a raging storm, two emerald eyes gazed upon the unconscious form of a lone fisherman drifting among the waves atop of the remains of a small boat. The eyes belonged to a young marid woman, whose temper tantrum the day before caused the sea to twist and turn into a maelstrom. A mix of curiosity and guilt moved her to take the fisherman into her arms and her home on the seabed. From this union, Tsumo was born. Life passed rather peacefully for the next 15 years. Then it all came crashing down when a sahuagin warband, emboldened by a deepsea seamonster, barrelled down on Tsumo's homestead. Seeing that their deaths were imminent, Tsumo's mother used her magic to fling Tsumo and his dad onto the shoreline near Saltmarsh before vanishing to the Elemental Plane of Water. Recognizing the town as his former home, Tsumo's dad took his son's hand and together they walked towards the fishing docks, only to realise that not 15 but 300 years had passed. Only having each other, both father and son strive to (re)build a live in Saltmarsh.

Name: Mouse
Race: Goblin
Class: Ranger (Outlander)
Backstory: Last of the deep goblin clan, the Lotus Eaters, Mouse ventured out of the deep caverns far below the surface to escape the drow that had slaughtered the rest of her clan. She was quickly captured by a band of pirates that had been using the cavern as a place of refuge, not knowing that the narrow tunnel near the back led far deeper than they first believed. The goblin ended up slaving aboard the pirate ship for over a year before a Keoish ship ran down and boarded the vessel, saving Mouse and many of the other slaves from their terrible fate. Mouse owes her life to Eliander Fireboan and the Marines Tom and Will Stoutly. They were the ones that received word of the pirate ship and dispatched a squadron to intercept it.
Backstory: (Soldier) Khur was born to the Durmstadt banner of Hobgoblins. At the age of ten, Khur joined the Stuttgart legion, and began a strict honor-bound lifestyle. For the next thirty two years, Khur would continue fighting as a member of his legion, and would eventually rise to the rank of captain. Khur's challenges (and his legions's challenges) would begin here. During one particularly brutal battle with a human settlement, two of Stuttgart's Generals and its Warlord were wiped out by a fireball blast. This sparked a power struggle and caused chaos among the Stuttgart legionaries as every commanding officer tried to secure the position of warlord. Finally, after months of infighting, a new leader was seated. Unfortunately, the chaos would not stop here. The new leader, Diruc-Nomog, was a religious fanatic, and devoted his life to pleasing the god Nomog-Geaya. Over only a few months of Diruc's rule, the Stuttgart legion splintered into almost fifty new legions. Thousands of hobgoblins were killed in the ensuing bloodshed. Khur and the surviving members of his banner were forced to flee, and began a new life of pirating and theft on the Azure Sea.
Backstory:(Hermit) The Deal... Is... Struck... For close to a century, the words would come to both define and haunt Zalzas over the years. Though some details had grown foggy for the triton over the many years of life, some stood out like beacons in the dark, reminding him of the reason for his extensive stay on the surface of another world. It mattered little that youthful naivety or genuine good had come of bargaining with a long held enemy of his people, a leviathan. His kinsman were a proud people. All Triton were in their stalwart defense of the realm against the vile deep ones, and their myriad of minions. Only the willing sacrifice of his mother and father ensured Zalzas would live, but in exile forevermore.
Through the guidance of the 'Teeth that Weep', his patron, the currents of his home guided the Triton to Saltmarsh area. Devastated all the same, and fearful other clans discovering and seeking to 'amend' an error of judgement on his clan's part, Zalzas sought isolation for a time. Over time he came to accept his new lot, and even foray into the more civilized areas to provide aid in the form of knowledge and temporary protection. But always did he return at length to the life of the hermit, seeking enlightenment on how to best use his ongoing connection to his benefactor.
